My friend who lives in Buffalo is a mainstay here, especially for the live music. I'm not a huge local live music guy unless it's electronic dance music, but I was very impressed by all the local talent here. Lots of 80s remakes, their own music, with a focus on pop/rock/metal. It did get extremely busy here on a Friday night, and the bar/live music area isn't very big. However despite the busyness the bartenders were attentive and I had drinks served very efficiently. The Jack Rabbit is awesome. We were in town visiting a friend and discovered somewhere they hadn't been yet. And all we could ask is what the heck were you doing!! Brunch after 1pm on a Saturday was busy and I would highly recommend that you get a reservation for whenever you go. It's clearly a popular place and for good reason. The brunch menu, the specials for both food and drinks are plentiful and we snuck a peak at the dinner menu and were deeply saddened for not being able to try everything on that menu as well. The atmosphere was fun and energetic, the staff had a great energy and we really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone loved their main dish and we all shared and tried the various things we ordered. In brief, we got the French toast special, Eggs benedict special, Breakfast pizza, Hangover Burger, and Brusselsprouts. Everything was fantastic. And the tater tots were crispy delicious perfection. I normally come here for drinks at night but decided to try out its brunch. I recommend making a reservation because it was packed when I went over the weekend. Brunch is served both on Saturday and Sunday which is a plus as most places only serve on Sundays. I ordered the chicken fajita omelette which was special consisting of eggs, peppers, onions, chicken, and cheese. Overall, I would say it was pretty bland and tasted like someone I can make at home. Perhaps I picked the wrong thing because my friends ordered the chicken and waffle as well as the eggs benedict which they both said they enjoyed. I ordered a minkymosa which is a Minkey Boodle mimosa which I thought was pretty creative! Minkey Boodles are my fave beer and I love mimosas so I thought it was a pretty neat idea. The restaurant is nicely lit minus the area down the stairs where it's dark. Unfortunately, we were seated there and it was too dark to read the menu. I went here for the second time for Sunday brunch. The first time, I went with two friends for the 90's brunch. It was alright, so I decided to return with a larger group; 8 people total. I made a reservation each time, and the second it was well over a month in advance. Once I arrived, I was disappointed, to say the least. They seated us in the very back of the restaurant damn near as far away as possible from the music. Before being seated, I asked the hostess if we would at least be able to hear the music since we were on the edge of the earth. She gave slow yeah as if to say "duh." I didn't like her tone, but she went on to say that there were speakers back there and we would be able to hear the music. I thanked her as it gave me some relief, knowing I invited all these people out to be entertained. So, moving on, it took a while to place our orders, but I get it. It was quite busy. I made our reservation for 12:15 p.m., giving us time to get settled before the music started at 1pm. So around 1:15-20pm the music started, and we could hear muffled sounds of music and people singing along. We knew the melodies and could make out the songs, but it's was ridiculous. When our waitress finally came back, someone in the group asked her to turn on the speaker since we couldn't hear anything. Well, that was a process. She had to go get somebody to do it. And realistically, I get it. She's busy, so why waste time trying to figure it out when you can grab somebody who actually knows. Once the speaker was on, it was much clearer but on the low side. It was pretty underwhelming. The disappointment of coming to hear music and being a country mile away was ridiculous. It also seemed that because we were the farthest table away from everything, service became just as scarce. Again it's busy but our waitress was just blazé and very flat. Much like my first experience, it was a bust. I don't understand what the point of making a reservation is when you walk in and still get treated like an inconvenience. A burger with loaded with bacon, caramelized onions, and all the fixings and tasted great on the brioche bun. Definitely would order again and felt right at $15. The pepperoni pizza was the same price and it came withthe classic cup n' char pepperonis that I've become familiar with since moving to Buffalo. It was nice hospitality. My Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles had it all. Sweet and savory/hot paired together nicely. It's a simple dish with crunchy outside and moist inside meat with surprisingly sweet waffle. The combo was very satisfying. The medium rare Steak with Eggs was done perfectly. The Biscuits and Sausage Gravy was also very good. Both dishes were served with yummy home fries. No dessert was offered and there was none on the menu. Usually, I couldn't care less about it, but this time there was a birthday girl among us. Not a biggie, we found something perfect at a different place close by. The Jalapeno and Roasted Pineapple Bloody Mary was like a meal by itself. Order a carafe of it and save a few backs. Thanks Krista for the Friends Discount. Be sure to make reservations for Saturday or Sunday midday meals. I didn't explore the whole place, but upstairs was dark and cold with a worn out loungy decor. I was here recently for a wedding and reception. The food and drinks were very good. The beef tenderloin and the chicken were excellent. The wait staff really did a fabulous job. They kept the food and drinks flowing the entire time, and were gracious while doing it. This place is on three levels, and there is a fireplace on the main level. The dance floor is quite small. I came here on a Saturday with my mom for brunch. I made a reservation online, but this did not seem necessary. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The patio looked great to eat at on a warm day. Event: birthday party Hosted my 30th birthday for ~20 people and had the best experience! We were able to hold the back blue room which I absolutely love - it has such a cool aesthetic (needs absolutely no decorations at all!) and a working fireplace (obsessed!). Private bar back there and Kristina provided flowers on the bar and tables for center pieces and colored charger plates which was such an incredible and thoughtful touch. Kristina made everything easy sharing and advising for which package would make the most sense for my event and budget. We ended up going with shared apps - Kristina was so smart to put them on the bar for a more cocktail reception style welcome and then a sit down dinner which made for a really warm welcome for people to meet one another before sitting down for dinner. I was able to provide my guests with drink tickets which allowed me to control how much I wanted to spend (not having to overpay for an open bar) and there were multiple ticket tiers so lots of customization available. The evening itself was fantastic - bartenders were great and quick, our server was quick to clear empty plates and dishes and was very mindful to make sure that our party got food in to stay on track with time for the event and to have the kitchen ready. All the food was great, came out quick, and heard rave reviews. There was no room reservation fee because our party was over by 9 so it was open to the public but we ended up staying for a while longer, didn't feel pushed or rushed to be done. One of the few things I miss about Idaho was a place that served a variety of potatoes including purple fries. I love purple potatoes and always wondered what they would taste like mashed so naturally I had to give this place a try when I saw they had them. We were running different errands in the area so I placed a to-go order of a rotisserie chicken thigh and purple mashed potatoes and gravy. It hit the spot, especially on an unseasonably cool day like today. I'd love to come back to enjoy some drinks on a date night. I love the ambiance inside. I wont lie the main reason I sought this place out was someone else's post about the amazing looking chicken tenders. They are huge!! I was pretty happy with our visit. It was very close to their opening and it was crowded and a little chaotic but I think the staff was doing well with it. Food was decent. Next time I would pick the tots over fries after trading my husband a few I regretted not getting tots myself. I LOVED this place. My sister planned herself a birthday party in the back room and it was great! The waitress who served us, and the bartenders, were very so sociable and helpful!! Shout out to our waitress with the coin necklace (I'm sorry I didn't get your name even though you told meh)! There are so many different places to be for all kinds of people. The front room gives you the typical early 20s bar vibes with a live band area... then you get the basement/downstairs room with the dark/scene pool hall vibes with the couches and neon lights... The back room is styled nicely with gold framed pictures and a fire places for the late 20/30s people to chat and get drinks (there is a bar back there too). Finally, upstairs has a cute sitting area to look down into the back room and hang out with your friends. It's vastly different and for all ranges of people. The love music was good in the front as well. Food wise: All of my food was cooked perfectly! The tater tots were fried to PERFECTION (see photo) and the burger was juice and cheesy. Oh and the caramelized onions in it- heaven. Everything smelled so good! I almost couldn't pick! I highly recommend this place for smallish gatherings/meet ups. Small note: While I do love this place and all of the vibes, the front women's bathroom has playboys mod-podged to the entire wall... while I wasnt bothered by the ladies displayed out like that, someone else might. This place is fun! We came here for brunch and it was automatically a good time. The staff are energetic, there was live music, there's I believe 3 levels so plenty of seating. Very inviting! 1 friend got the skillet special, another friend got the French toast, and I got steak and eggs. My steak was cooked just how I asked and it was juicy and tender. Overall our food was very good and the drinks were even better. Their cocktails packed a punch so you definitely get what you pay for. I want to try them for dinner one day because their whole menu looks delicious. There's a lot of layers to this place which makes it interesting. The food was amazing but we were seated by the door and it was a tight squeeze already without it being so busy. The door opening of course who can control that. Stopped into Jack Rabbit for the first time last weekend And there was a band playing so they were charging $5 cover which was fine because the band was really funky and cool. It was pretty easy to get drinks and the bartenders were quick. The bar itself is really neat and every room has a different theme. I've been wanting to go here for a long time. When I I was younger we used to go to JP Bull feathers all the time. Good food, reasonably priced. I took two of my children this afternoon at 3:15 PM. The hostess advised me that they were serving brunch until 4 PM, would I mind? My kids were hungry so we sat down. I ordered the hamburger, done medium. My son ordered steak and eggs, and my daughter ordered pancakes. Steak and eggs were OK. They gave my daughter French toast instead of pancakes, but she said she would eat the French Toast anyway, and thought it was good. I did inform them of their error, and they offered to get her pancakes, but I politely declined. I cut my burger in half; and what a travesty was inside. It was gray, overcooked, old meat. caramelized onions were bitter tasting, and the bacon was old, it was not fresh. They did a good job of reheating it on the griddle though as the cheese was melting everywhere. It was obviously a reheated hamburger. Cost $16 too! I left more than half on my plate, when the waitress finally came back to see if I wanted a box, I told her to throw it in the garbage. Overcooked, pre-prepared hamburger. She also offered to make another one, I declined. She came back and explained the burgers are really thin and that's why it was cooked well-done. Not a good excuse. They gave me 20% off of the entire bill. It amounted to $10. The burger was $16. They obviously don't want my business. I found the wait staff and the hostess to be professional but they were not attentive. There were tables around us with dozens of bottles and cans on them, so they were making their money via alcohol. I would look at this place strictly as a bar, and not for the food, [based on my Brunch experience]. An upstairs whose decor appears more upscale with a grand piano. A back bar and seating area thats more victorian/retro. A lower level with group hang out spots reminiscent of a lounge with some games. Our server was attentive and friendly. Went here for brunch and had loaded tater tots and breakfast pizza. Both delish and covered in bacon, ham and eggs. The crust of the breakfast pizza was intermediate between fluffy and thin. Tge loaded tots had some added seasonings. This was our 2nd time stopping in and splitting a few menu items. The first items we ordered were specials - the cheeseburger egg rolls and deep fried steak "fingers". The egg rolls were amazing with a crunchy exterior, and came with really good special burger sauce. The steak fries were a great idea, but a little hard to chew pieces of steak in chicken-finger form. They did taste great though and had a tangy sauce on the side. We also had to try their famous giant, handmade chicken fingers. We got them tossed in honey mustard, and they were incredible. Double breaded chicken fingers? Say less. I've been to Jack Rabbit before for drinks, but I'd never stopped in to grab a bite. Which is insane, because chicken-centered dishes are their speciality, and we all know I'm a fiend for a good chicken tender. Their menu is pretty big and they offer weekly specials too. It would be impossible to go there and not find something you like. I, of course, opted for the chicken tenders with sides of hot sauce and blue cheese, and a side order of fries. The tenders were so delicious. They were HUGE and so crispy. I didn't even need the hot sauce because they were just that flavorful on their own. My boyfriend ordered the Cheesesteak Hoagie, but there was a mistake somewhere down the line and he ended up with a steak sandwich. He didn't mind at all, since that was something else he was eyeing, and he enjoyed it a lot! Our waitress acknowledged the mistake, which we appreciated a ton, but he didn't feel a replacement was necessary because he liked what he got. I would LOVE to stop in for their brunch sometime. Jack Rabbit has such a fun atmosphere, and so many food options, that I think you'd have a unique experience each time you come in.
