Beautiful older home renovated to become this salon and boutique. I enjoyed looking at all the nice things in the boutique while I waited for my stylist to finish with her last client. Stylist was friendly but professional- she made sure she knew what I needed as soon as I was in the chair. She was not overly talkative and seemed knowledgeable about hair care . I was impressed by the care taken with covid protocols and the cleanliness and organization of the shop. Prices seemed to be on par with other local salons. Have to say Morgan never disappoints! She has cut my hair now for over 10 years and when I moved to Vegas I didn't know what I was going to do! Update: I brought my 2 boys (age 16 yrs and 13 yrs) to see Morgan within the last month. She worked magic on years of bad haircuts (you know the type of haircut, where the barber/stylist only knows one boy haircut...think mullet). Ever go to those locally owned salons where no one greets you because you're supposed to already be BFFs with your stylist? Yeah, I hate those. Ever go to a salon where no one greets you because they're too busy feeling important and snooty? Well this salon isn't like that at all. This salon has a front desk person who greeted me warmly, asked if I would like water or coffee, and made me feel welcome. There was no one with a snooty attitude. And the owner himself even spoke to me and made sure I didn't need anything. Samantha did my hair, haircut one day, and color today. She listened, she recommended, and then she did what I asked. Then today on color day, she listened, she understood, and she recommended a plan of action. Sweet Samantha turned my hair into a masterpiece despite my frizzy, grown out drugstore box color. She is Aveda trained and I love the Aveda products. If you're accustomed to modern styles and products at Charlotte salons, you can go to Jack Rabbit right here in Monroe. I've been Bobby's client since he started over 30 years ago. He is the best of the best and I would never go to anyone else. I have recommended him to several of my friends and they love him too. He has been with me when I've had long hair, medium length and now short. He also is the one who shaved my hair when I had chemo and started losing my hair. He is great at coloring, cutting and suggesting new ideas. His salon is beautiful and his clothing, scarves, jewelry and Aveda products are very upscale. This place smells so good. How can I make my life smell like this? Off of a friend's recommendation, I scheduled a haircut at Jack Rabbitt right before I left for a visit back to PA. Monroe is a bit out of the way for me, but the salon is much closer to Stallings than I expected - I had lunch at La Unica and popped right over. The shop is tucked in a little strip mall, and kind of easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled. I drove right by it the first time. Once you get inside though, its this adorable, good smelling little spa like boutique salon. They carry all sorts of things from Aveda products to jewelry, clothing and purses. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. I scheduled an appointment with Samantha, and was THRILLED that they could fit me into the schedule within a few days. You know that point where you realize that you needed a haircut like 6 months ago? I was there, and I was desperate to get my hair cut. Samantha was super friendly and listened to exactly what I was looking for. Its been about two years since my last haircut. That's right. TWO YEARS. Desperate was no exaggeration. I told her that I was just looking for a trim, to get the ugly stuff off the bottom, and keep growing my hair. She brushed my hair a bit and suggested taking two inches off the bottom, if that was ok with me. With every suggestion that she gave, she made sure that I was fine with it and comfortable. I love that. I love my haircut, and the way that she styled it! It even lasted in this heat for most of the afternoon. I have been going to this salon for a couple of years now. They use only Aveda products and their stylists are good (Bobby, the owner, is excellent). Ever since they moved into their new location, however, things I did not ask my stylist to do have showed up on my bill ... a trim ($23), a deep conditioning treatment ($15), and toner because my hair should have processed a few more minutes ($20). Just because they now have a mortgage loan instead of renting a space doesn't mean I want to be charged for services I did not ask to be done. read more
