And when the mechanic called my phone to tell me I needed rotors, I told him thanks for the call but I'll do it myself. He just straight hung up the phone on me,Very unprofessional. And since I didn't need or want any other service only the new tires. When they placed the tires back on the vehicle,they didn't tighten the hubcaps so they'll fall off, but little do they know I checked it before. Our battery is new! If they would have told us that we would need two back tires soon, that would have been fine, because that was true. I brought my car in for an oil change. The mechanic drained my transmission fluid by nistake. Instead of putting fluid back in he left it alone and proceeded to change my motor oil. When i found out and about it and the conducted an investigation this is what they told me. The mechanic acknowledged that he did it but could give no explanation for why he didnt fix his mistake. Also he was given a written warning and allowed to continue to work there. Would you want this joker working on your car! I am incredulous that this guy did not correct his mistake instead allowed me to drive a car with no transmission fluid in it and that Jack Williams allowed this guy to keep his job He made a huge mistake which he could have easily corrected but did not! Mavis has bought out Jack Williams, and it is horrible. The new staff is rude, the prices are outrageously high, and they don't give you full information. I was not told my tires have a rebate (I found out on my own), I was surprised at the cost of balancing the tires (formerly included in the Jack Williams price, now 20 bucks a pop), and they refused to honor their price match guarantee for their own online price! I ended up at Jack Williams in Mt. Pocono because Kost who I normally do business with was swamped. I dropped off my daughters car to have 2 tires put on inspection and a wheel alignment. I received a call shortly thereafter and the guy on the phone tells me that his technician can't get the jam nut to come loose on the rack and pinion. He says it's gonna cost be 500 and change for new Tie rod replacement. I'm like no sir drop the car I'll take it like it is. I ended up heating the jam nut up and I got it loose. My daughter took the car back the following day. I said to make sure that you tell them that I'd cracked the jam nut. Of course my daughter forgot to notify them. I get a call at the end of the day to come down. I come down and the manger said that the tech can't get the jam nut loose. I'm like really well I got it loose and it can be moves by hand. The manager goes into an *oh, I didn't get to look at it. I don't trust the guy who tried to do the alignment," and yada, yada yada. I ended up leaving it over night and then I get a call next morning. Inspection is done but we can't get the alignment done because something is spinning and that I need Tie Rods. Again cracking for that 500 bucks. I took the car across the street and explained it to Kost. They had me up and running in no time. Go to Kost F this Williams Guy! We are new to the area, I figured I'd give Jack Williams a shot. I ordered tires that never arrived after I drove a half hour to get there.Then had an "appointment" the next day to get them installed first thing in the am. 1 1/2 hour later still waited. Nothing! That was long enough. As a new customer, you would think they'd be on top of the business. They're more into car repair (that's where the money's at) than tires. Do yourself a favor and go to just a "tire" shop! (There's plenty around). My time isn't expendable. Why make an appointment you can't keep? There's absolutely no explanation for it. I would give this place no stars! I took my car here for an inspection due to needing it done by this weekend and my dealership not being able to accommodate me with short notice. They told me the tread on my tires is really low and the rear passenger one would not pass. I found this odd since it is a 2023, I bought it new and it had just over 17k miles. They also told me I needed new wiper blades because mine were streaking and would not pass. I informed them the wiper blades were brand new and were installed on the car a week prior. The lady goes to talk with the mechanic then comes back, apologizes and gives me some lame excuse about mistaking glare on the glass for streaking and that they were fine. I then question their findings regarding the tires and they insist the tread was too low and would not pass and said I needed to buy two new rear tires but of course they recommended I buy all four. I paid for the failed inspection which was $17 and said I would get them checked out elsewhere. I called the dealer and explained the situation and they were able to squeeze me in for the next day. As I knew it would, it passed inspection. The tires are a bit low and will need to be changed at some point but it's not needed immediately and it passed with no issues. I have been going to Mavis for many years but have always dealt with Mavis which is up the street from Jack Williams on Rt 940 and I have also purchased tires at this Jack Williams a few years ago. I know Mavis owns Jack Williams now too. After years of getting my reg maintenance with them, I won't be going back as I detest people trying to scam me. If you need work done on your car, I would steer clear from this Jack Williams especially if you are not very savvy when it comes to cars because they can't be trusted and will try to get you to pay for unnecessary services. read more

Back in the 1920's, she was a little girl and it started as a Bicycle shop. .....Since the mid 90's Service has Deteriorated and A Lack of Customer service and Accountability at THE MNT. Pocono Store well..... need I say more. They still owe P.J.Carey a reimbursement credit for her account from 2008, from when she passed, + Interest. I would advise shopping around for Deals as It seems J.W. has Gold Plated Tires, and it seems Questionable service, as well as their affiliate MAVIS. Their standard go to is " You Need Breaks and Rotors, alignment ETC ... before we can release your vehicle." Bull..... As for John P (12/9/19) and his transmission MISTAKE ?!? EVER HEAR OF A LAWYER?? Beware! I was on vacation in Mt Pocono. I came in to have a tire plugged due to a flat caused by a screw. After being told at first that the tire could be fixed, I was told that the tire wasn't in good enough condition so therefor they would not repair it. Since i was far from home and had to get home I had no choice but to buy a new tire. When I got home and showed tire to my local tire store I was told that the tire was fine and could be fixed , I was scammed by them just to sell me a tire. Bought 4 new tires here...About a month later while driving on the highway, a constant knocking and whinning noise starting coming from the front of the car. Brought the car to a mechanic and he told me I was a lucky man. All the lug nuts on the left side of my car were loose and if I had kept on driving there was a good posibility of the wheel eventually coming off. He checked everything else under the car and all was good. Went back to Jack Williams. They gave me the excuse that I had driven 2000 miles and I was supposed to come back to have the lug nuts re tourqed? In all my years of driving I never heard such a lame excuse. Lug nuts properly tightened NEVER come loose. Especially when done by "proffesionals". Not sure what is worse about this place. The mechanics or their customer service. read more

Jack Williams in Mount Pocono put the wrong size tires on my Mercedes Benz C300, which days later resulted in a broken strut because of the error on their part. They didn't realize that the front tires require a different size from the rear (they used the same size tires for front and rear). I assumed they had the expertise and knew two different sizes were the norm. When the strut broke and I returned to the mechanic, they acknowledged their mistake and replaced the tires - with the correct sizes - however, they forced me to pay for the strut and labor ($908) regardless of Jack Williams being at fault for the broken strut. I saw this as unethical and deceptive on their part. The strut would have never broken had they put the correct size tires on from the start. read more

Jack Williams is the epitome of not caring about the customer - they're all show - smoke and mirrors. If you aren't familiar with cars and maintenance on them, DO NOT trust Jack Williams. I took my car there to get a simple inspection. They "informed me" that all of my brakes, rotors, and calipers needed to be replaced to receive the "OK" sticker. Little did they know my brakes and rotors were brand new; courtesy of yours truly. A friend of mine recommended a "mom&pop" garage he was familiar with. A real mechanic and genuinely honest person gave me my keys with a fresh inspection sticker and told me my caliper's slide pins needed a little grease. That was it. Jack Williams tried to charge me over $2500. My overall bill was less than 5% of that. That's my story I can only imagine how much they rip off of less informed customers, Every. Single. Day. On July 14th I called for trailer tires and I was advised they would be there the next day. I dropped off my tires at 8:00 that next day and was advised they would call me when they were done! At 4:00 I didn't hear from them so I called them and they said they weren't there yet and they didn't know where they were and they would call me when they came in! I called the next day and Zack told me he had no idea where they were or if they would be in! I then went up to get my tires and the desk girl showed me where they were. I went back to get them myself and even the man at the desk didn't acknowledge me at all and I had to get them and put them in my vehicle myself ! I then called Kelleher tire in Scranton and asked the same question and was advised they had them and we went down immediately and they were mounted in 40 minutes. No apologies no nothing. Very poor customer service. I would not recommend them to anyone read more

Beware! I came in to have a tire plugged due to a slow leak caused by a nail. After waiting almost 2 hours, I was told that the tire wasn't in good enough condition to pass inspection so therefor they would not repair it. Since my car in ALL wheel drive, I was told my only option was to purchase 4 new tires. That seemed pretty suspicious to me so I told them I would have my mechanic in Philly take a look and to just put the donut on my car since they refused to plug my tire. I brought it to the Nissan dealership today where they repaired the tire for me and completed an inspection for which I PASSED! SO basically these guys made me drive all the way from the Poconos to Philly with a donut because I wouldn't purchase 4 new tires from them! Horrible! read more

Made an appointment for new tires my appointment was at 9 but I had trouble getting out my driveway with the snow and my old tires...they held my place in line when I arrived and was taken right away!!! I should have done more research before taking my cars here. First bought a set of high-end tires there and within a week one of them blow out on the interstate for no apparent reason. long and expensive towing experience when I first called they basically said tough luck "it a low profile tire". Then tried to charge me for a new one, which they end up waving cause I continental warranty (way to believe in the products you sell!). I kept asking why and what was showing on the tire and never got an answer and they said it was buried to deep in the truck to find it when I arrived. A week later I took my jeep regulation inspection and they said I needed new brakes. I said ok but now realize I got overcharged and should have shopped around. JW also has a special on inspection, which of course they didn't apply. Now I've asked three times for them to put the specific brake and rotors they used on the invoice. I see they added ceramic brake pads was added. Paid 350+- for two OEM brake pads?! Meanwhile researched and see: "The average cost for a Jeep Grand Cherokee brake rotor replacement is between $346 and $501. Labor costs are estimated between $105 and $134 while parts are priced between $241 and $367. Estimate does not include taxes and fees." read more

Every time I'm in the waiting room waiting for a tire rotation, I hear the BS they tell their customers about repairs needed. They convinced me that one of my license plate bulbs was out (this seems to be a trend in these establishments). After the rotation and the bulb replacement, I drove home. Once I was home, I checked the bulb and noticed it was out! It was a new bulb but it was out because the plug was corroded. So the bulb was never bad, the plug needed some cleaning. They didn't even check if it worked before they gave my car back. My fault was not to check before I drove off. This place is good for tires but don't have anything else done on your vehicle!!!! Jack Williams in Hamlin went above and beyond when I was in a tight spot. My rental car had a major oil leak and the shop was closing soon. I had a family member call ahead. When I arrived one of the staff came out to meet me and pulled my car right into the garage. Several people pitched in and took care of the issue which ultimately required replacing over 5 quarts of oil and determining whether or not there was further damage. It was a very stressful drive when the rental company called me an hour after I left to say they found a lot of oil on the ground where the car was parked. The staff at JW took the time to make me feel comfortable and helped me to figure out next steps - and all with a smile and patience. Definitely a sign of a good employer. read more
