We had supper tonight at Strafford Farms main restaurant which seems to be different from the loft…read more First thing of note was the menu we were given was very different from the one listed online Selections are much narrower in the restaurant, most of the specials were absent. So we had to make decisions on what to eat. I decided to start with the onion soup followed by the steak of the day (16 oz strip) with mashed potatoes and side salad. My wife selected the baked stuffed haddock with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. This was after going through a long list of vegetables that they were out of. The restaurant itself was quiet and comfortable with few people in the area where we were sitting. Which left us puzzled when it took 20 minutes for my soup to arrive and another 15 minutes for our dinner. Every thing was cooked as ordered but my steak was cool to the touch and the gravy for my potatoes terrible (sent back and stayed with just butter). My soup was only passable; the broth was thin and needed seasoning and the bread used was barely adequate (and certainly not croutons). It had been a long time since we had been to Stratford Farms and while I still like the ice cream I think we'll probably pass on the restaurant.

First, I have only been here once and it was on Thanksgiving. Our reservation was at 12:15. We got…read moreour meal at 12:45 (without the side salad - that came after our meals). My friends' son got a cheeseburger - without cheese. I think our server misunderstood when he said, "I would like a plain cheeseburger". He didn't want tomato, lettuce, or onion, but he wanted a cheeseburger. The kids menu didn't include the same veggie sides - the kids wanted corn but that wasn't allowed? I got the baked stuffed haddock, a baked potato, and squash. My friends all got the turkey dinner. You didn't get butter with your baked potato unless you asked for it. (Maybe this was a way to save money and supplies?) One friend ordered the baked potato with butter and sour cream. Perhaps they didn't have sour cream and just didn't want to tell us. I found it interesting there were no dinner rolls. We ordered dessert around 1:10 pm. We waited; and waited. Come to find out - our dessert slips had been lost. My friends' daughter ordered chocolate ice cream with whipped cream and she got chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. My bill was correct. My friends - not so much. This review is challenging because I always spend the holiday with my family but I just moved back to the area and was graciously invited to lunch with my dear friends. They were so busy and I know we are all grateful to have had this option of eating out on this holiday. I felt bad for all those people waiting to be seated because they were so behind schedule. We were seated at 12:10 and left at 14:00. Maybe this was a test run for the owners of the restaurant. Practice makes perfect! Thank you for your kindness and meal. The seafood stuffing was very good. I enjoyed the grape nut custard pie, as well. I wish you all a happy holiday season. The staff were kind - just overwhelmed. We had a great time, though. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing for us.

The place has ample table seating, booths, and seating at the full service bar. There is also patio sidewalk seating in front of the restaurant. The place still resembles its predecessor with the same colors paint scheme. The bar offers a few draft beers, wine, mixed drinks, and cocktails. The TVs (not on) are still over the bar and there is a digital jukebox too. The limited dinner menu in July 2025 offers alfredo pasta primavera, roast chicken, baby back ribs, blackened salmon and prime rib and desserts (cheesecake & chocolate cake). While the weekend breakfast buffet is active, the late night breakfast buffet was on pause until the UNH school year resumes. The pricing is moderate. I stopped by the Blue Flame for dinner recently. The place was not busy on a Wednesday evening during the summer. I was seated at a table near the front window and requested an ice water. For dinner, I ordered the Blackened Salmon ($24.99 plus tax) served with garlic/basil mashed potatoes, green bean almondine, hot rolls, and a side salad. The side garden salad came out first with dressing on the side, served in a small bowl with a mixed leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots. The Blackened Salmon entree and hot dinner rolls came out next. The blackened salmon filet was a good size, served hot, tender & texture flaky, slightly spicy. The garlic/basil mashed potatoes were hot, soft and chunky. The fresh green beans with almond slivers and butter were a bit lukewarm though. The 2 dinner rolls were soft and chewy. After I finished and cleaned my plate, I was presented with the check which was $27.11 (cash)/$28.06 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, a good filling dinner on a slow evening. I will have to come back for the late night breakfast buffet and hopefully their dinner menu would have more choices.
