When the tire pressure warning light went out, I noticed in the side mirror that the technician was inspecting the back right tire, and I already suspected what he was going to tell me when he approached the driver's side door. I sighed heavily as I followed the technician, only to see the little culprit that immediately ruined my mood. I was recommended to replace the tire, resulting in another heavy sigh, as I just replaced one that got a nail in it last month. I didn't have time to get the tire replaced at the moment, so I made an appointment for the next two days... fast forward two days and 90 minutes; I'm back cruising on the road. After the inspection, I was given an extremely high estimate and told that my vehicle needed several services and repairs. I was very concerned by the amount quoted and decided not to move forward with the recommended work. The following day, I took my vehicle elsewhere for another evaluation. I discovered that the shaking was simply due to the tires needing to be balanced. I paid only $30 for a tire balance, and the shaking issue was resolved. I finally got my van back and immediately started having problems with the way it was going into gear and shifting.. So I brought it to a dealership to get it looked at because I was tired of dealing with this mechanic shop and the amount of money I have spent there trying to get my van to work properly..it should practically be a new van .. the ac was the first job done and still having problems with that after them charging me $3,000.. Anyway back to the transmission rebuild.. Once I brought it to the dealership ,the dealership found that Empire auto care installed a junkyard Transmission in my van that had altered vin numbers and they charged me for a rebuild.. They knowingly installed a junkyard Transmission with altered vin numbers ( ground off ) with green spray paint.. Its a federal offense to tamper with any vin numbers on any Vehicle Motor Transmission I have filled a police report and filed a report with the attorney General office .. I have also hired an attorney as this place needs to be held accountable for what they have done .. This is fair warning to anyone reading this not to use this place as they come across nice but will cut corners and deceive you for profits .. They only offered to install a new transmission after getting caught so they could cover up the fact they defrauded me out of thousands of dollars... This was my…read morefirst time here, I came because I saw the great reviews on Yelp and I was looking for an honest mechanic due to being scammed a few times with this car already. My check engine light was on and I knew of a previous oil leak that I was told wasn't major but I should get it looked at. The check engine light was an easy tune-up and the leak turned out to be major coming from the valve cover... all good and done. We also replaced all 4 tires with alignment. When they went to call me in to pickup, the mechanic found that there was a separate oil leak from a different area and it would be a simple fix replacing a small hose. Turns out the hose has a manufacturing defect and wouldn't fit correctly, they had to keep my car an extra 4 days and try 3 different hoses in total to get this leak to stop. This was such a blow because I use my car for work. Nobody had the part and the ones that did offered the defective one. The part was in back order with the dealership. This was a tricky spot, I believe Sam's found an aftermarket hose that did the job...but it took a lot of effort, putting on 3 different hoses and running around calling everyone in town. They could've easily given my car back in the beginning saying "not our problem" or ignored it, or when they ran into all that trouble and the issue looked "unfixable" they could've just told me to pick the car up and tell me they can't help me. But they were the ones to keep trying everything, without my prompting, and ultimately they fixed the car. They didn't even charge me extra, in fact they worked all this into what I was already getting done. I ended up paying close to my original quote maybe even less. All in all, I'm happy that this happened at Sam's, they handled it like pros, they were honest and fair and transparent the whole way. Larry at the front was my contact the whole time and that guy is a legend, he really cares about people and it shows. He really felt bad that this made me lose out on 4 days of work, I could tell it bothered him. What more could you ask for a business that cares about you. My car is running great, all symptoms and problems seem to be resolved! I would most definitely come back, they have me as a loyal customer, I would recommend anybody I knew to them.
