I ordered four wood frames at Jack's gallery, One 60X48", and three 40X22". All four with non-reflective glass. Separately I also ordered a large mirror 42X32" with wood frame. The frames are sturdy (the large one even has a central reinforcement bar). All the work is impeccable, perfectly flat, and the frames were professionally wrapped for shipping. I received the order well within the agreed upon deadline. The service was also excellent. A huge choices of colors, sizes, shapes and material for the frames and professional (and patient) advice for the selection of the colors around the picture/painting, to match the pattern. I dealt with both the owner and a younger employee and they were both competent and very pleasant to deal with. The cost was not cheap but it seems perfectly in line with other framing galleries. It seems that in Manhattan one needs to get used to it. Still, if you value the art you are framing, the cost is very reasonable and the end product is definitely worth it. I visited here recently for work. I was supposed to pick up a frame for my boss. I got here at around 11am and there was only one staff cleaning the glass table at the time. I told him I was supposed to pick up a frame. Then another staff showed up and told me "Oh that frame? You mean the one we had to rush overtime for?" I was really confused and was not sure if he was just joking since I had no other information with me. But this staff quickly came back with the frame. I had to unwrap it at the time per instruction from my boss and the frame is absolutely stunning! They did a great job on it. The same staff rang me up and was super nice when I was about to take off. He asked if I needed help with the frame or anything. He even said "have a nice day" or something to that effect - greetings like this doesn't really happen in the city so I was pleasantly shocked! I cannot speak for its pricing since I didn't have to pay for the frame personally. read more

Highly recommend Jack's art gallery. I've now had two posters mounted on gatorboard beautifully, and also a watercolor framed. The posters are monochromatic prints, so they are very delicate and sensitive to marks. Fear not, they did a great job mounting these as their work is spectacular and their customer service is also amazing. I also accidentally dropped and broke my watercolor's frame and they were very reasonable and accommodating with fixing my mistake. This is a family owned shop. I worked with one of the sons and as soon as I place my paintings down it knew exactly what would bring out the colors and designs of my works. I had given him specific instructions on how I wanted my sketch book painting to be trimmed. He had forgotten and didn't trim the ragged edge. But guess what? His "mistake" made the piece look so much better. He said he would re-do it and I said I liked his "mistake" so much better. I will be back. I have had two frames framed at Jack's Art Gallery. Both pieces cost over $600 to frame. The first time, the service was great. When I picked up the second piece I had framed, the piece was wrapped in plastic in such a way that I couldn't see the frame. I trusted that all was well. When I got home, though, I noticed an obvious chip in the frame. When I brought it back (after having to pay cab fare each way), the older gentleman - who I presume to be the store owner - said that I must have chipped it. He said that it would be "very unprofessional" for them to have sent me home with a chipped frame. I disagreed with him that I was the cause of the chip as I knew that I hadn't bumped the frame at any point. He grudgingly agreed to replace the frame. After almost three weeks, it was ready for me to pick it up. This time it wasn't wrapped in plastic so I could survey it. Interestingly, though, after I said that it looked good, the owner wrapped it in brown paper only - no padding or plastic this time - and handed it to me. He showed no interest in protecting the piece for me. He was irked about having to replace the frame and was punishing me, I guess. His general tone was rude. (Of note is that the younger man in the store was consistently pleasant.) While I appreciate the service I got the first time going to Jack's, it is apparent that the owner provides high-quality service only when it suits him. I won't go back. read more
