Located on McDowell about 300 yds East of 24th St on the South side. Many mechanics in this area and they only have about 6 parking spots in front so you can drive by it. I took a 2010 CX-7 there for an inspection. The people there are very friendly. They say it will take about 45 mins - 1 hour and they take appointments. The cost is $60 - 90 depending on how much is needed. My inspection ended up taking 45 mins and cost $65. They felt that the front struts, rear shocks, right side engine mount, and wheels needed to be replaced. They did say that nothing was urgent but would not recommend driving to California. Turns out that they were accurate maybe slight over calls but when having a used car inspected prior to purchase, that is what you want, you want to know about all possible problems rather than to be surprised after you purchase the car. read more

I just had a car of mine in to get the ac repaired and I feel they dropped the ball on the repair. I've been bringing my cars, along with family and friends cars to them for years. Kyle and Val I understand some times repairs don't get repaired and you miss something. To double charge me for something your guys missed isn't right or fair. I had a plumbing company for 30 years and if I didn't stand behind my work and fix what needed fixed I would not have lasted in the business. If the problem wasn't fixed and I had to return, I wouldn't charge my customer to fix what i just repaired and Kyle told me this was a timing issue. I am sorry Kyle thats hard to believe. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER I'm not sure how Jack's got such good reviews...and I'm not the type to write a review. I'm just to busy. But, I made an exception for Jack's. I just got home from taking my car to Jack's, but, before taking it there, I read on Yelp about how they have "the best customer service", how "they're very approachable", and that they offer a "family" type of atmosphere. Unfortunately, I didn't get any of that. When I entered the office, all I got was "Fill out the form". They didn't even offer me a pen to write with. I had to lean over and grab a pen from the desk that a young woman was sitting at. And after completing the form, I looked at the young woman to submit the form to her, thinking that she might explain the process, but her attention was elsewhere, so I just placed it on Craig's desk and exited the office. That was the first red flag that told me that maybe I was in the wrong place. The second red flag was seeing other people, who came after me, being serviced before me. The third red flag was standing outside the office, by the bay, for about 45 minutes without anyone approaching me about my situation. I've been in other shops where the person in charge will approach you and explain how things work, how many cars are ahead of you, and how long you might have to wait. Got none of that at Jack's. I just stood outside and was treated as if I wasn't even there. Ultimately, I got the feeling that they didn't need or want my business. I got the feeling that I just wasn't part of the crowd they typically do business with. So, I left. Going to Jack's was a waste of my time, gas, and effort. They might be good mechanics and, I'm sure, they treat their regulars pretty well, but if you're a first time customer, I'd steer clear of Jack's and go somewhere. Jack's is the kind of place that I'd go to only if I was out in the middle of nowhere and the next closest shop was hundreds of miles away. read more

I highly recommend this family-owned business. They're honest, straight-forward, and do good work. They're also reasonably priced. I brought in a replacement part and they installed it. Normally, I go to Toyota b/c I don't really trust mom-n-pop auto places, but am tight with money, so I shopped around and am so glad I did so! Go YELP! I've needed to replace the driver's side rear view mirror for over a month...because Toyota part= $200 and Toyota labor= $110. Toyota Estimate Total: $310 and an all-day drop off. Online purchase of brand new, knock-off "after market" auto part: $45. Jack's 1-hour labor: $67. Actual Total= $112 and 1h 30m of my time. UPDATE: 2/7/2016: Recently, I bought online all new super premium bulbs for my high beams, low beams, and fog lights. I brought them to Jack's and had them installed for a total of $114 and 1-hour cost to me. I've heard from family and friends that's fair pricing. read more

Wow . . . I called to ask what might cause the A/C on 2013 Honda Accord to work okay but then less than okay when my idling. They nailed it over the phone and then suggested that I should come in and for only $10 they would check it out. Sure enough, the freon was at a level appx 50% of where it should be (not unusual for a car almost 5 years old). They then provided me an estimate before they started work; checking for leaks, adding more freon with the dye so that leaks would show up. In less than 45 minutes and ONLY $52 later, I was out the door driving in the June 108 degrees "cool as a cucumber". Finally, I was also very impressed with the nature of this family business with at least 3 family members working there cohesively, taking excellent care of their many customers. I recommend this business wholehartedly based on my excellent experience. Go there next time you need help with you car and you won't be disappointed. read more
