And i decided not to have the car fixed and save up for the repairs and was charged $230 for labour since i decided to take my car. John helped me with some warranty work last year. He really fought for me on it- great experience. On a separate issue this week my a/c stopped blowing cold so I requested a Freon refill. John advised I do a performance test versus just refilling if there was a leak. Brought the car in, William took care of the test and sure enough there was a leak. This is the place! This repair shop is filled with some of the nicest humans I've ever met. I had to bring my car here after failing my emissions test. They were very knowledgeable and made sure I knew how the process of repairs worked and how much they would cost before hand. Sarah kept me in the loop during the process and was very pleasant to work with! When I picked up my car I swear they cleaned it and straightened out a bunch of papers I had left all around. This place was chosen because of the glowing reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately I have nothing but negative things to say. My niece was in a car accident and chose this shop to get her car repaired. When the repair was completed, she noticed her camera wasn't working properly. She took the car back, and they told her it would only take 30 minutes to fix the camera. It ended up taking 5 hours. When she picked it up, and she left she noticed the camera was still off, and there was a crack in her windshield. Once again, she went back to the shop and they said there's no way that happened at the shop. The manager was rude, and argued. Their camera supposedly didn't get a good angle of the car coming in, so they're refusing to fix damage that happened while in THEIR shop. That crack wasn't there when it came in, because it would have been recorded as part of the damage report from the accident. And it didn't happen in the few minutes she pulled out of the lot. Shady. It's unacceptable that this company isn't taking accountability over a repair they're responsible for, that wouldn't be a hard thing to fix. read more

Had a pretty negative experience here a few months back. Without getting into too much detail, I was severely up-charged for an oil change ($140) after being quoted for ~$85 over the phone. This was right after I had declined service on getting my brakes replaced at this shop due to me wanting to compare prices at other shops, and the price increase on the oil change almost felt like retaliation. The $50 of extra charges that made up the price increase on the invoice came from "Shop Supplies". If I'm already paying a total of $49.70 on "Total Parts", which include the oil/oil filter, then what are shop supplies going to? Martin's Auto Repair was actually a business I found on #yelp and I noticed Martin was a family name, after reading through reviews I was definitely going to check them out. This business is professional and definitely helps you with getting from A to Z. After leaving Honda Dealership telling me I had something torn and it were going to cost $800 I had Martin's inspect, they not only found a answer for me but took me into the shop with my vehicle raised and pointed out what's wrong and why it can be an issue. They then went through prices. Almost cut in half completely then what Honda asked for. They fixed up My CRV back to good health and recommended some required maintenance to be done and I was already so happy I was willing to have them throw that in on top of the price, I still paid less then the dealership. This is now my local mechanic and I'm more than happy to have all my vehicles serviced here. Martin's Auto is hands-down the BEST mechanic in Phoenix! I highly recommend them. They provided us with a full diagnostic report of our vehicle every time we took it in, whether it was for a repair or a simple oil change. The report shows you pretty much everything on your car, and is color-coded based on what is good and running well (green), what may need to be serviced soon (yellow), and what needs to be serviced immediately (red). I appreciate the full transparency with Martin's. I never felt like I was being swindled or pressured to buy something I did not actually need. Glen was super responsive and helpful and honest about what work needed to be done. They got it done in less than 24 hours and had be back out on the road. My 2005 jeep grand Cherokee was running rich for awhile, took it to multiple mechanic shops in Phoenix and over the valley none of them were able to identify the issue. This review has a surprise ending (in the best possible way). The best experience I've ever had with a mechanic. First, I want to make a special point of how friendly everyone was. Polite, professional, and kind at every step. The problem was diagnosed quickly. It was explained in plain English. I authorized the repair and it was completed within hours. Now here's the kicker: the bill was less than I was quoted. I have never seen or heard or this happening. I was quoted a particular amount and expected to pay that amount. I didn't see that it was substantially less until I went to pay. I am blown away by this incredible act of honesty (they said it simply cost them less to repair than they expected, and they passed the savings along to me instead of pocketing it). If you are an older woman, this is not your place. I took my car in for brake work and they did about half of it and sent me home, with a hefty charge. Two days later, the problem appeared again, and I took the car back and got a "Oh, you meant BRAKE SHOES!--yeah, that doesn't count." They then quoted a twice-as-high price. Not going back. I started looking around, including bbb and found that Martins was part of the advisory group for bbb. The next time that vehicle had an issue it went to Martins. This is as good as it gets right here. I had to make an emergency pit stop in phoenix while returning to Los Angeles & these guys took good care of me & my 2016 Hellcat. We took our over to the shop From the moment we walked in then door , the staff was welcoming and very attentive. Update they have reached out and gave partial refund. This issue has been resolved. Brought a car in they had it for 3 business days. The car needed to pass emissions. Paid 750 dollars and still does not pass emissions. They charged 500 dollars in just labor and only replaced one thing. WHAT A RIP OFF! Be super careful going here. Tried to bring it back up to them and they act like it is not their problem and no help to fix the check engine light is on. I am beyond disappointed in my experience at this auto repair shop. I took my Jeep Wrangler in for an oil change and to check some sensor lights that were coming on, one being the gas cap light and airbag light. First off Martins charged for a standard oil change what I usually pay for synthetic oil and gave me a ridiculously long list of thousands of dollars worth of work that I was told needs to be completed. He also charged $130 to look the car over when I was also getting an oil change, that should have been my first red flag! My father in law is a mechanic and advised us to get a second opinion which I am so glad we did!! I found an honest, reputable auto shop that didn't charge me to look over my car and also took the time to look up the error codes and let me know it's a part that has a recall on it and gave me the information to take to the dealership to have fixed at no charge vs Martins quote listed out exorbitant costs to fix the same items! Also half the things the Jeep needed on Martins list weren't necessary, all the Jeep needs are new brakes which the quote for factory parts was half of Martins quote and to get a recalled part done for free. I hope my review saves someone else from being over charged. October 8, 2018 review response The owner reached out but I really don't think there is anything else to communicate about. I have outlined our complaints clearly in my review above and had my vehicle repaired elsewhere for much less than I was quoted at Martin's as I previously stated. I would suggest in the future not charging clients to look over a vehicle when they are bringing it in for maintenance such as our oil change and to give a fair/necessary quote for work that needs done vs what we received at your shop, it was very disappointing. read more
