    Underestimated the portions!
    Chris D.

Last time I was here both Jack and I didn't have any gray hair. Now we're both totally gray! Been way too long. I used to come here all the time and even went to a yelp friend gathering here. My first review was 16 years ago! The prices haven't gone up much and the portions are still huge. I ordered a lentil soup, zait zaatar manaish, and a spicy cheese boreg thinking "for the price this will be small". Could have easily fed two people but I wolfed it all down anyways. Truly delicious. If you've never experienced Armenian baked goods or want to try some place new look no further than Jack's. They also have different kabobs which I will definitely try next time. Service is always genuinely friendly.

I'm so happy I found Jack's! I stumbled across Jack's on Yelp during the week because I was craving kibbeh nayyeh (Chi Kufteh). I couldn't believe I found a place close to HB that had so many of my delicious favorites that I have enjoyed since I was a kid! The owner was so nice and treated us well. It's a small place, but there are tables to sit and eat and enjoy everything! My mom and I definitely will be back.

I went for the Lahnajon and $60.00 later I left with enough food to last 3 days. Now I'm no expert on Armenian food but what I had was very good. In fact after trying everything out I knew this place was going to be a problem. My favorite might have been something that looked like a Pizza. I had some Roasted chicken at home that went well on it as well as Hummus. If you do anything well for 38 years it's bound to be good. I'm not a big sweet eater and the Baklava wasn't tempting for that reason. But I was given a complimentary piece and I have to say that it was good as well. They are so much more than a Bakery and paper to me to be very authentic. I'll most definitely be back next week.

    Lahmajun it's so good!

One of my go to spots on Friday me and cousin love this place. Always fresh and amazing staff even the owner is always there to greet you. I typically get the lahmajun but I even enjoyed the chicken kebab wrap!

I recently discovered the beauty of lamhajuns from other bakeries, and I was excited to try them here! They were tasty as expected, and I love that they are a light and affordable snack. We also tried the khachapuri, spinach boreg, and zaatar manaish. The khachapuri was light in flavor so we needed to add some salt and pepper. I appreciated that it was a good, simple pastry. The zaatar manaish has a fluffier dough and is drier than the lahmajun. It's good on its own, but I could see myself adding cheese to it since that seems like a good pairing. The man at the cashier is so friendly and makes you feel welcomed. The parking lot is tiny, but we've been lucky to find parking easily on our visits.

Chicken Kebab with rice, hummus, marinated onion, pepper/tomato, garlic paste and pita

I've eaten here many times and always order the Chicken Kebab -- it's fresh and delicious every time! They don't start cooking until you order, so everything comes out hot and flavorful. The ingredients are always fresh, and my daughter loves their vegan dishes too. If you're in the mood for authentic Armenian food, I highly recommend this place!

Hidden Gem! I grew up around the area and did not ever realize that I could get a delicious kebab plate so close to home! Came here on a whim after yelp made me realize they served hot food and were more than a bakery! They make everything fresh to order, so do give them about 15 or so minutes to grill everything up. You can even order things ahead online, which is what I'll do next time. I got Adana/chicken Kebab Combo, and it came with one bread round, grilled tomato bell pepper onion salad hummus and rice. I loved how complete the plate was, where I didn't have to order a side of hummus. The kebabs were FIRE - moist, flavorful, SO GOOD!! I ate it right after I left with my takeout order and wow! Love it! The only wish or recommendation that I have is perhaps an option for salad instead of rice. The rice is really good, not knocking on rice, but gotta get some greens! Overall so tasty! The eating space is somewhat small, only a handful of tables inside, but they weren't too crowded. There is a parking lot in front that serves the small plaza and I don't think I've ever seen parking be a big issue. Ready to come back and try the rest of the menu.

So, I bought a 1/4 sheet cake for my husband's birthday on purpose because I wanted leftovers!!! The fruit is fresh and plentiful. But with all the hype about this bakery on social media, I had to try it The Fruit Cakes are unique with fresh fruit not glazed or jam. Big bite size strawberries, mango, kiwi, grapes, pineapple with a thin layer of sponge cake, layers of crunchy phyllo and whipped cream. The smallest cake is a 1/4 sheet which cost $45. With all the fruit on top, it made it challenging to slice nice looking dessert slices. Super yummy, I can understand why people are making reels about this place on social media. It's a winner. Friendly service, accommodating and responsive to our needs. We requested no kiwi due to one allergy to it and they make it within 10 minutes.

I think I just rekindled a long-lost relationship with this bakery…read more The last time I visited was probably a few years ago, and while I remember liking it well enough, I wasn't exactly blown away by the vegetarian and vegan options at the time. Fast forward to recently, and their Instagram marketing team deserves a raise because they absolutely got me. Every other scroll seemed to feature some gorgeous vegan pastry or savory item, and before I knew it, I was planning a visit solely based on cravings induced by social media. The pistachio croissant, pâté chaud, and sticky rice had been living rent-free in my head for weeks. Let me just say: this place exceeded the hype. The pâté chaud was the star of the show. I ordered both the regular version and the "beef" version. The vegan beef filling was tasty, but there wasn't a whole lot of it. The regular pâté chaud, on the other hand, was generously filled with vegan pork and mushrooms and was absolutely phenomenal. Flavorful, savory, and wrapped in the flakiest, butteriest pastry imaginable. One bite and I was immediately transported back to childhood. Pâté chaud was one of those treats my dad would always bring home for me growing up, so finding a vegetarian version felt like discovering buried treasure. Not to be dramatic, but I would happily eat a concerning number of these in one sitting. The xôi gà (sticky rice with seasoned vegan chicken) was another knockout. In my excitement, I started eating it immediately instead of waiting to warm it up first. Rookie mistake. By the time I realized my error, I had already inhaled most of it. After heating up the remaining portion, I finally understood what I had deprived myself of. The warm version was next-level delicious. If the room-temperature version was an A, the heated version graduated summa cum laude. I have been thinking about it ever since and am currently fighting the urge to drive back for more as I write this review. The girl working at the counter was also incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Needless to say, I will not be waiting another few years before returning. In fact, if you see someone sprinting toward the pastry case for vegan pâté chaud and sticky rice, there's a decent chance it's me.

She may have known the other customers in the store at the time because I felt she was a lot more friendly towards them. Also a heads up, you have to spend at least $20 to be able to use a card, so bring cash! I tried their honeycomb cake (in a half moon shape, good for 3-4 servings) and their vegan pork pate chaud. Both of these items were good! They were also reasonably priced as I got both for ~$8-9. The honeycomb cake was slightly sweet and chewy. The vegan pastry was flaky despite being vegan! There was a good amount of filling, which consisted of the vegan pork and mushrooms. It was savory and had a good texture too. The only other thing I may ever come back for is their vegan fried chicken but the smallest amount you have to buy 1/2 lb which is $12

I stopped in because it's located near a restaurant we frequently visit. The owner was very friendly and proudly shared their history, fan mail, and reputation, which made me excited to try the food. I ended up buying almost one of everything. Unfortunately, the pâté chaud was already sold out by noon, which was actually the item I was most interested in trying. As for the items I did try, the durian bánh pía was overly soft and mushy for my taste. The bánh tiêu was just average and didn't stand out. The chè desserts tasted homemade, which some people may appreciate, but I found them fairly basic and not particularly memorable. The bánh trung thu was decent, but not something I would go out of my way to purchase again. Perhaps these products are exceptional compared to what is available where the bakery originated, but being in Orange County, the competition is extremely strong and there are many outstanding Vietnamese bakeries and dessert shops. I genuinely wanted to like this place and support them, especially after spending quite a bit and trying a wide variety of items, but overall I left disappointed. I may return one day to try the pâté chaud, since that was unavailable during my visit, but based on what I sampled, I don't see myself becoming a regular customer.
