The grilling was done skillfully, but I must say that due to the size of the actual meat chunks, my skewers were rare, not med rare. But, delicious and savory nonetheless. The salad was crispy with red onions, tomato wedges, cucumbers. It was under dressed but still very tasty. Also had the humus which was good, a bit more oil would be nice. My daughter had the Spanikopita appetizer which looked really good with a lot of filling. My wife had the soup that was very tasty, with dill sprinkled on top, cannot remember the name. The soup was steaming hot, which is how I like any soup to be served. For dessert we had a Baklava that was sweet, but so crispy it was a bit hard to eat, almost too dense and crispy-dry. Definitely worthy of a 5 star rating. Someone who is serious about quality ingredients designed this menu. I would enjoy eating here again.

I decided on the combo plate choosing beef and lamb, with grape leaves and potato salad; this comes with pita bread and dip of choice. Portion for me was full, filling and reasonably priced- i decided on garlic and it was everything I was craving and more. Meat cooked to my medium rare preference, quality had me in disbelief as it was so juicy and had a wonderful bite to it. You can tell of care and quality of meat and how clean it tasted; lamb was not gamey at all (i enjoy lamb naturally but wanted to note this for my friends with sensitive palates & those looking to try something new). Grape leaves were yum- i'm always looking forward to those and I never had potato salad with a lemon/garlic dressing combo so I was pleasantly surprised to try and fully enjoyed the light and refreshing flavors that it provided to my meal. This is a nice spot, very accessible to anyone looking to grab and go for lunch or sit and enjoy their meal. It was an incredible pleasure to come across, service was excellent & I appreciate the conversation. I wish it continued success and can't wait to come back. If you're in the area I highly recommend coming in and checking it out! :)

We found this place on Yelp with a 4.5-star rating, and since we both love Mediterranean food, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment from start to finish. When we walked in, the employee greeted us from the back but left us standing there for about six minutes before taking our order, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered a beef shawarma bowl with extra lettuce and no rice, and a chicken shawarma bowl with extra lettuce and no rice. After waiting quite a while for our food, they brought us the exact opposite--a bowl loaded with rice instead of lettuce. We let the owner know about the mistake, and instead of fixing the order, he came back with a tiny plate of lettuce and said, "Here." As if that was supposed to make up for an entire bowl filled with rice that we specifically asked not to have. At that point, we had already waited so long that we just decided to eat it anyway. That turned out to be another mistake. The chicken and beef were unbelievably salty. We each took only a couple of bites before throwing the food away because it was practically inedible. To make matters worse, both my friend and I ended up with terrible heartburn afterward. Between the poor customer service, the incorrect order, the lack of effort to fix the mistake, and the overly salty food, this was one of the worst Mediterranean meals I've had. I definitely won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this place.

I got the chicken kebab plate and she got the gyro fries and the hummus and pita bread. When we received the food, we were surprised at how huge the portions were for her gyro fries and hummus. It was my first time eating at Athens West and I was surprised how delicious it was. The chicken was nice and tender and the rest tasted fresh and flavorful. However, there was a little bit too much oil used on the rice. It won't affect my rating, but just a friendly critique. I can't comment on the ambiance because my friend picked it up for us, but I am sure it has its own charm.

I ordered the 2 kebab plate for $16.99 and paid the $2.50 up charge to get a steak kebab in addition to the chicken kebab. Both kebabs were perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The steak was medium and tender and not overcooked at all - it was perfect! I also liked how there were red peppers and onions layered with the kebab. So tasty! The chicken was also perfect. The stars of the show in addition to the kebabs were the side dishes that came with it: orzo pasta (DELICIOUS!), tzatziki sauce (oh soooo flavorful! I wiped the container clean it was so good!), and a really delicious greek salad with kalamata olives, feta cheese, onions, cucumbers, a peppercini and lettuce with a really yummy dressing. They had multiple slices of pita bread as well which was soft and super fresh. Overall, this was a super delicious meal and I think this restaurant deserves 5 stars. I will FOR SURE come back here! I also noticed many people getting takeout too. There's plenty of seating inside and they give free cups for water. The ambiance is casual but nice. I'm so glad I tried this restaurant and can't wait to return!
