Since our go‑to place closed during COVID, it's been a long trial‑and‑error search for a replacement that matches on price, quality, service, and hospitality. Papa K checks every box. What stands out most is the freshness of the food. Because it's a small restaurant that prioritizes quality, service can be slow at certain times, but the food is absolutely worth the patience. Their Egyptian‑style flatbread and wide seafood selection first caught my attention, and I've been hooked ever since. I almost always order the seafood soup, pita with dip, and one of the family‑style meals. I've tried nearly all of them and have never been disappointed. The meats are consistently tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their fried and grilled fish are excellent as well; just keep in mind they take longer, so ordering ahead is smart. Thanks to a two day fest called Hellfest going on and my need to eat a meal before hand, I finally came here a few weeks back and it was well worth the wait. I came here around 2PM on a Friday and the place was pretty busy. The menu here had a good amount of options but the Chipotle Chicken Wrap with French Fries was calling my name and that's exactly what i ordered. The gentleman working here was super friendly and the food came out super quick. The Chipotle Chicken Wrap itself was absolutely delicious! The chicken had great flavour and the veggies made it even better. The french fries were standard to this kind of place, but they were crispy and tasted great. Overall, Papa K's Mediterranean Kitchen is a fantastic spot to grab a bite to eat and somewhere I'll definitely be returning to in the future when coming to the Observatory. read more

What a delightful experience. The restaurant is small and casual. My wife and I popped in Saturday night. The place was busy, but we managed to find a small table. You place your order at a kiosk (not the best), but the waitstaff was so helpful and friendly. While we were waiting for our food, the owner (George) brought us freshly baked pita bread... it was soooo delicious!!! The food is definitely first rate. We ordered a chicken kabobs plate and a mixed grill plate. It was incredible. However, I think we ended up taking half home! We will definitely be going back. Not sure that really saves you time or effort. We can with a rather larger group but it was easy to find seats. We were lucky it wasn't overly busy and it was a Sunday. The food took a little bit of time but that's to be expected. The homemade pitas were hot and fresh! Very generous. My plate looked great. The salad was fresh and not overly dressed. I would just ask for no onions the next time. The kiosk doesn't allow us to modify so that should be an option. My chicken was moist and tender. Not overcooked at all which was nice. The hummus was good. They accidentally gave me the Tzatziki so I tried it. It was very watery with no flavor. I was not a fan. Friends got the bolti fish which does take over an hour but it was very moist and had good flavor. Plenty of parking. SYoY! read more

I'm not sure if they make the pita but they seemed fresh and nothing like you can find in a store. The gyro wrap was very good ($11.99). I also had the lamb kabob plate($19.99). Probably the best lamb I've ever had. It had the best flavor and cooked perfectly. And the salad was very fresh with a very good dressing. Not busy but it was a Saturday I'm sure its busy during the week with all the business around. You really can't find this good of food for that price anywhere. We ordered to-go, and while waiting, we could see them preparing everything fresh. The family that owns and runs the restaurant was incredibly kind, and despite the care put into each dish, our food was ready in just about 20 minutes. On our way out, we decided to grab a slice of baklava, and holy cow, I'm so glad we did. It was hands down the best we've ever had. The food at Papa K's was delicious, high quality and fresh. It wasn't busy the weekend we went, and our order still took a while to come out. We didn't mind as it was made to order and was so fresh. The cons: 1. I'm surprised at the reviews mentioning "great service". No one took our order, we had to just use the kiosk at the front counter. The employee wasn't even around to answer questions if we had any while ordering. 2. Regarding using the computer/kiosk to order - they should at least have some printed menus to look at. It's time consuming to go through the entire menu "online" while you're ordering. If there had been a line, it would have been a terrible wait. The menu on the screen above is constantly moving, and isn't complete anyway. It's useless. 3. The soft drinks had a weird chemical taste. The pros: 1. As mentioned, the food was delicious. Shawarma was good, The kabob sandwich was huge and the bread was soft with a light crusty outside. The bell peppers were grilled and the chicken pieces were big - the sandwich was stuffed. The pitas were soft, pillowy triangles - they looked like beignets! 2. The TV screen had great Arabic music videos and it wasn't too loud - it was just right. 3. Large portions! 4. Real plates and silverware. I'm tired of places having paper plates and plastic utensils.
