So happy to finally have bbq on the eastside!!! I was excited to try this place and it did not disappoint. I love the ambiance- very chill and felt like I was in the south! It's a bit noisy but not crazy loud. Ordered two bbq plates and the chicken tender with fries for my toddler. The kitchen was so sweet- I'm pretty sure they added a small slice of corn cake for my daughter bc it's supposed to only come with one side (fries). She loved everything- devoured her plate of food! Our food was delicious too- my husband who's picky AF enjoyed his ribs. I got brisket and sausages- bith were tasty but the brisket rly stood out. For sides we got Mac and cheese, potato salad, corn cake and corn pudding. All were so tasty- the corn cake comes with a huge slab of butter so it was super moist. Best of all the service was so friendly here- servers coming to check on us all the time, refills, extra napkins, takeout boxes. I loved it- highly recommend! Glad they opened a location on the east side! First time at this location and had a great dinner. The bartender also handling our section made sure we were always good or needed a refill. Host was also welcoming and greeted everyone arriving and leaving. Got the Fri special beef rib tacos (2) which was flavorful and tender with a side of house chili and chips. I came in alone for a bowl of chili. The food tasted good but the chili was really soup. A fork would never stand up in it. Service was good and the ambiance noisy and heavy on the Texas, but the hollywood version. There were no napkins on the table and I needed more. The server took a long time to bring the check and it was a credit card device. I put cash on the table and was then ignored for quite a while. Turns out they don't take cash. I didn't see this policy on any menu. So the chili was soup and they don't take cash. I won't be back. read more

It's the Eastside's turn!! Finally (5/9) we are blessed with Jack's BBQ on Bel-Red in Redmond. Location is fantastic with a very roomy venue and plenty of onsite parking. Couple picnic tables outside with some corn hole waiting for you. Inside is clean and well-staffed with most tables 4+, and some bar-height doubles. Very open ingress/egress for those needing accommodation. I love their brisket and jalapeño sausage, so I went with the two meat plate. Great center-Texas flavor profile, and both were super moist. I did the cornbread and queso mac for my sides, and the mac was addictive. Accompanied by a well-poured grande margarita, and good old white bread, pickles, onions, and jalapeño. All the feels of their SoDo and Algona locations, but never feels less than original. Was nice to talk with Jack for a few minutes - I love an owner that spends time with his guests. Will frequent. This is the third time I visit this store and absolutely the worst experience. We invited friends over from Seattle to try their beef rib, which is only available Thursday evening. We arrived early at 530 and asked for beef rib. The waiter and the lady told us that there are plenty available tonight and we can order when our guest shows up. However, when our friends arrived at 6:00 and we immediately placed the order. We were told there was none left. And they didn't reserve for anybody. There was not a sign of apology. 10/10. Best bbq in the state, maybe the best Texas Bbq I've ever had--and I say that having tried all the best BBQ in Austin. As someone who thought that WA would never have even satisfactory BBQ with these standards, I felt the tears spring to my eyes with the first bite. It was a long wait for our food, which is unusual for bbq. But service was friendly, and the food was so good that I don't care. Next time I'll bring a book. It's shorter than a flight to Austin. Now I have to deal with the dangerous reality that such phenomenal BBQ is in our backyard. Oh well! read more

Best BBQ on the Eastside! Upon entering you smell the beef. When it arrives at your table it's tender and full of flavor. Fun sides like fried pickles and the best billionaire bacon around. If you're up for it, the Texas trio with Brisket, Ribs and Sausage is terrific. Any side you choose will be delish but you can't beat the Texas Caviar and Cornbread. Dessert? Heck yeah! So my husband and I were visiting from Houston, Texas to celebrate our son's bday in Washington with friends and family. Our group had lunch and tried their picnic plate with the brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, chicken as well as the double trouble and Texas trinity items in the menu ....the food was good- can't say they beat Texas bbq yet but - food was pretty good! The sides were good sized servings. Some of us liked the coleslaw, others the greens best, and others liked the ranch beans .We had Mike as our server and he is excellent! Very efficient and friendly and definitely our group gives him 5 stars! The restaurant was not crowded for Sunday lunch crowd and feel we were very well served by Mike with warm and friendly personality! We definitely recommend this place! read more

I didn't get my full order and was missing a second side...however the brisket was nice and tender and the chili hit the spot.

This place has a lot of potential, but it's not quite there yet. Most dishes we tried were very good, the atmosphere was great, and the service was good, but there were a few flaws that soured the experience a bit. For example, the coleslaw was awful, they were trying to do something very creamy and it just didn't work at all. My wife ordered the 8 oz ribeye, medium rare (it surprised me to even see an 8oz ribeye cut on the menu). But instead of taking a smaller section of the ribeye and cutting it normal thickness, to get 8 oz they cut the entire ribeye so thin that it would have been nearly impossible to hit medium rare, so of course it was very overcooked, and it was under-seasoned as well. read more

Turns out when I went to go repark my car so it wasn't towed they finished the order but failed to notify me and had me waiting too an extra 20 minutes. Only person taking care of 14+ people line was one hardworking sever in the front. Green beans ok potato salad was not impressive. Our hostess and server were good and attentive. The atmosphere was pretty sterile and not really comfortable . Some booths would have been nicer. And they don't have a Happy Hour which is a great time to go out with friends for an early dinner and drinks. So we were disappointed . As a native of the southeast, I'm very familiar with BBQ. I found Jack's to be a generally mediocre interpretation. I ordered the Double Trouble with pulled pork and brisket. I think it came to about $30 which is kind of expensive given the portions. The pulled pork had good flavor, but was dry. I assume it was sitting beneath a heat lamp for a while. The brisket was better, but can generally remain out for longer and remain moist. The sides were very good. Service was actually great. They were very attentive and polite. Great people here. Plenty of parking. If you're craving BBQ this will satisfy your craving but with some compromises on cost and quality. read more

I had a fantastic experience here recently celebrating a birthday with my friend. I had tried the SoDo location after having been away for years, and was thrilled by the menu expansion. The new Bellevue location does not disappoint. We enjoyed fantastic service from Oscar and J.J., who were wonderfully hospitable and treated us like family. My first visit to Jack's on a late Sunday afternoon. Staff was super friendly. I'd been in the mood for BBQ but having lived in the south a good portion of my life, I wasn't sure what to expect up here. I ordered the brisket and it was juicy and flavorful. I'd definitely order it again. The sides were where I wasn't quite happy. I got the queso Mac and cheese and the savory ranch beans. I pretty much expected the beans to be different than the typical baked beans we serve. They were rather bland. The Mac and cheese...sigh. It was barely room temp, and I'd have sent it back had I liked it but it was spicy. I never understood the purpose of adding jalapeños to everything. I wanted sausage but it only came in hot or hotter. That's my issue, I know. I will go back and try some other stuff on the menu while I'm in town so I'll update. read more

I took my daughter here for lunch one day and sadly nearly everything was extremely disappointing. They even managed to ruin cornbread and macaroni and cheese . However, my daughter did get beef ribs and other than the dry rub that had to be kind of scraped off and some large chunks of fat, The ribs were quite good so a few weeks later we decided to splurge and I ordered a beef rib. It's one and a half ribs, (they pull out every other rib and then cut there) they quoted me $34/lb on the phone, they couldn't give me an exact weight over the phone; fair enough, when I got there it was nearly 3 lbs, about $90, I tried to explain I didn't have that much and they got angry at me. No thankyou!! So the ribs would've been almost $100 but then 30% of that is fat that has to just be cut off or dry rub that has to be scraped off. I can't imagine here ever again read more
