This 5 star review goes to the establishment of mox, not the actual food in the restaurant. Mox offers an at-home, cozy vibe. Everyone here is happy, kind, and playing boardgames. I love it here. You don't need to pay to play any boardgames, and everyone is respectful. I would rate their food a 2/5 due to the price and quality and quantity, but this is how they make money! I would never want mox to shut down, so I always end up ordering a lot at the restaurant ‍. I do love their hummus platter with naan.

While I haven't gotten a chance to eat out here in the longest time since 2023 or so, I feel like this place deserves a really nice review for being a consistently great place to geek out, have fun and just feel like a kid again! There's tons of board games of all types around, and you can even borrow some board games to play at any of the tables in the back rooms. You can borrow up to 2 at a time, though before I remember that limit was 3. They don't only sell board games; there's MTG and Pokemon cards around as well, along with some other TCGs up at the front counter. I love the setup of this place, and usually walk around here the same way. The front has new arrivals, and I check here to see any new board games out there. Then they have spaces for two-player, party, co-op, area control, strategy and best-seller games to name a few. All of these are regularly updated, and staff are very helpful with answering questions you might have about game recommendations. The back rooms have a ton of large tables where you can play those board and card games with friends, though they are self-serve; you bus your tables, whether it's food the kitchen can deliver to you or the games you decide to play. They do have a dine-in restaurant, where most people do eat in but also stay in for ridiculous amounts of time because you can also play your board games in there too. I'll need to come back with a larger group to dine in and give a proper foodie review here, but in the meantime this is a great place to hang out and window shop, and they open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Great place to chill and play games with friends! I'm always pleasantly surprised by the food-- nothing out of this world, but better than you'd expect from a casual board game spot. The menu changes every now and then, which to me is a sign of seasonal ingredients and a skilled kitchen staff who can come up with a variety of dishes! I was sad when they got rid of the cornbread though, it was definitely a favorite of mine! You can eat/drink while you play games in the restaurant area. If you're not looking for any refreshments, there are tables in the main area as well. The room in the back is sometimes reserved for tournaments/events, but open to general use otherwise. The people who suggest games are always super knowledgeable and able to give great recs based on what you tell them about your group!

If you're looking for a place to play some fun board games and grab food, then Mox should be on your list. The place gets pretty busy on weekdays and they have an extensive list of games you can borrow and also buy. Their food options are great and they keep rotating their menu too. Their hummus platter, sweet potato fries, and pastas are great!

Not your average game store café--this place serves golden curry and Gatsby vibes. I stopped in for lunch at Mox Bellevue to catch up with friends who were passing through. We weren't there to play games--just to enjoy a meal and some long-overdue conversation. The space is impressive. Art Deco details, cozy booths, and thoughtful design give it more of a boutique hotel feel than a typical café. I ordered the Golden Curry & Tofu: Japanese-style curry over white rice with potatoes, carrots, tofu, and a topping of pickled vegetables. Warm, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. My friends had the Sausage & Pepper Rotini, which looked hearty. Everyone left full and happy. One thing that surprised me--no mocktails on the menu. When I asked, the server seemed a little caught off guard but offered to make a virgin Momotaro. Ginger, peach, mint, lemon, ginger beer. It was fantastic. With a bar that creative, it would be nice to see a couple of NA options listed. After lunch, I picked up a couple of games to bring home. Looking forward to trying them out at the next game night. Mox Bellevue is a great spot for a relaxed meal, a browse through the shop, or a full-on game session. I'll be back.

Fun place on the eastside for the family or large groups. Food is decent and good beer and cocktail selections. Huge selection of board games to check out and the staff is quite knowledgeable and happy help to suggest games. Pricing is a bit expensive but you can sit and play as long as you want.

My friends and I have been going to Mox for years. It's like going to the library, except you get to try new board games, be loud, and enjoy food and drinks. They also host game events for Dungeons & Dragons and Magic the Gathering. You can borrow up to two board games at a time to bring to your table. If you're stuck and don't know what game to get, they have board game experts there to help you. They'll ask you questions like: "How many people do you have?", "what level of strategy do you prefer?" And/or "how complex of a game do you want?". Most of the time, we've ended up with some great games, but there have been a few games that we'd never want to play again. But that's the fun of the experience! Favorite Games tried: -CDSK Trivia (fantastic trivia game where you choose how well you know a topic and get asked question according to your supposed knowledge level) -Wavelength (given a word and two opposite adjectives, can you guess where the reader put the arrow on a spectrum of opposite adjectives?) -Wits & Wagers (a betting game where you guess numbers and years) -Hues & Cues (a game where you give a word to describe the shade of color on a board). Okay Games tried: -Hanabi (this card game is tough and requires you to be silent throughout the game) -Steam Up (this dim sum game is fun but has a ridiculous 12 page instruction booklet, but the game is actually pretty simple) - Forbidden Island (co-op game with some strategy involved) Meh Games tried: -Canvas (this one is award-winning, but just wasn't for me) -Pusheen The Cat (very low-strategy and mostly just cutesy) Service is always great and the waitstaff are super attentive. The tables and interior are clean. Their cocktails are honestly a hit or a miss for me. The Spicy Margarita Fireflower was one of the worst cocktails I've ever had (thankfully they don't have it on the menu anymore). I tried the POWER OF ENDURANCE ($13) last I was here because I was intrigued by the pandan liqueur. However, I was quite disappointed at how small and watered down it was. Their MEAD and CIDERS are decent though. Oh and their CHAI lattes are great if you're not in the drinking mood. For food, I recommend their FRIES or ELOTE. The fries have a crispy outside coating (like cornstarch) and their elote is just super flavorful. Both are great shareables. Overall: 3/5 for drinks, 4/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

What I said under the picture was correct. The pastrami on Rye Reuben was really good and the dragon blood made it very tasty kind of high dollar for my taste, bud. I got the money to spend.

This was our first time here. Different but very cool spot. It's set up to do games and food and drinks. There were game tournaments going on in the back. There was a store that had all the games available for purchase. We sat in the restaurant part, but checked out the tournaments and the store. There was very friendly help. The food was very good. See the pictures.

Ask the Community - Mox Boarding House - Bellevue

I'm looking for Magic The Gathering group for a 13-year-old who would LOVE to play MTG and find a group of other beginners to play with. Is Mox the right place? Do they have organized group for beginners who are learning to play MTG?

Yes they have a lot of options based on the game and level!

What are wait times like on a Friday/Saturday evening?

Silly question, but is it kid friendly?

Yes it is, there are always table with a few families, usually with kids who are able to enjoy the board games but I have seen a toddler or two, hope that helps

But we came here specifically for the karaoke, which was a blast! My friend reserved a room for us at Tasty Time as they have private karaoke rooms that are similar to the ones in Asia. I had no idea this place existed into a friend had mentioned they had done karaoke here, which we wanted to try on a Friday night. For two hours, we were able to reserve a room for $75 and they allowed us to extend our time at a prorated rate. In the front of Tasty Time is a restaurant, but at the back is the hallway to the private rooms for karaoke. In the room, there's a large screen, comfy seating and a touchscreen where you search and select the songs. They also have an iPad on the table for where you order drinks and food from. The experience was freaking fun! My friends and I had so much fun singing our hearts out, and apparently, we were the loudest ones in the place! The drinks helped. But it's worth knowing that the service can get slow for ordering drinks and food. We also ordered drinks that never came. When we realized that it was slow to get drinks, we kept putting our future orders in to add in the queue, not knowing when we would eventually get our drinks. Also, the cocktails they have are sweet. They have shots though for something stronger. My friend ordered some meat skewers for the group and they were well-liked or was it because we had too much to drink? TBD. For anyone looking to do karaoke with a bunch of friends or with a group in Bellevue then Tasty Time is a good option for just that. Located in a business strip in Bridle Trails, it's unassuming and you'd never know this place had karaoke, but it was a nice surprise to all of us who came for the first time. Fun, fun times!

The skewers are perfectly seasoned and grilled -- crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and loaded with that signature cumin-chili aroma that you can smell from a mile away. The grilled squid was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the beef skewers were smoky, juicy, and well-marinated all the way through. You can really tell they know how to control the fire. One of my favorites was the grilled tofu rolls -- soft inside, slightly crispy outside, and soaked with spice. Super addictive. The shrimp were also fresh and well grilled, not dry at all. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and everything came out hot and fast. The vibe is lively and perfect for hanging out with friends, especially late at night. If you're craving authentic Chinese-style street BBQ, this place is a must-try. I will definitely be coming back again -- probably very soon. Highly recommended.
