I have driven past this place many times and always wanted to stop. I finally did. We made it over around 7:30pm and a good thing we did because as soon as we ordered our double cheeseburgers they ran out of meat. The place is nothing to brag about but it has a cute charm to it. It's just a walk up and had to gentlemen working one taking the orders and one cooking the burgers. The man at the window was really nice. Even though they had a few tables to sit at outside we decide to take our food home. Luckily we live down the road so our burgers were still nice and hot. Meat was cooked perfectly and cheese melted and running down the side. The veggies were juice and crisp. The fries were nice and crispy just how I like them. Love Jack's! Just moved down the street and was so pleased to discover this local gem. It's a cute little burger shack on the corner of a major intersection. The food is always fresh & made to order and the ingredients are high quality. The service is always fairly quick and polite; they pay attention to any requests or modifications. My BF and I have only had burgers and zucchini fries from here, so I can't really speak to what the rest of their menu tastes like, but I imagine it's all good! These days, finding a good burger is easy...but between wagyu and smashed and sliders, there ends up being a few places where you can get a truly classic burger. For that you have to dig deep and look in places where you don't expect or maybe, in the place you should have been looking at all along. Technically, I would consider Jack's Classic Hamburgers a "blink and you'll miss it," spot, but since it's located in one of the worst intersections in the valley, there's a good chance you'll be stuck at a red light and see it. However, due to the traffic and lack of parking sometimes in the tiny parking lot, it may not be the easiest to get to...but you should definitely try to. For years now, I've driven by this humble stand and recently, I finally decided to try it. On first bite I haven't missed much, but I've definitely missed something. The burger is as plain as they come. There's nothing special about it. Bun, meat, some poorly chopped up veggies...but there's something about that combo that just works. It doesn't need a special sauce or some fancy seasoning, it's just a burger and sometimes that's all you need for a good lunch. The patty is interesting though...it tastes like it's been cooked on a flatop that's been around for decades. I always get cheeseburgers and didn't realize their pastrami burger did not come with cheese. It was plain and dry, but that ended up being a good thing cause I was able to taste the patty for what it is. If I had one complaint about the burger, it was the bun. To borrow a phrase, the bun is cromulent. After being wrapped in paper on my way back to the office, the bun had gotten squished...a little bit soggy. Instead of being that toasted, brown color, it was rather pallid and pale. If there was any kind of upgrade or something special added to the burger, it'd be the bun...this is where a brioche or some kind of sesame seeded bun would make things better. I ended up getting their combo meal, which came with fries and a drink. Bonus points for a burger stand to offer jamaica. Maybe the best part of my meal was their fries. Think McDonalds fries, but crispier. You get end up getting a bag full of it when you take it to go and that in itself was a meal. I got it with their seasoning salt and man do those flavors shine. I probably should have shaken up the bag a bit before eating, but if you just want a good plate of fries, this is the place to go. I think I just missed the lunch rush so my order was made fairly quickly, by some very nice people behind the window. Another plus to this Toluca Lake institution. If you just want to find a classic, uncomplicated burger, you don't have to look very far...it's at the burger stand you should have been ordering from all along. read more

We ordered 3 cheeseburger combos and spent 40 dollars wouldn't have complained if the burger was decent. Dry ass burger with 3 thick ass onion slices. I live around the corner from this spot and never gave it a chance. well that changed last week and I'm so happy I decided to try it. This place has top tier burgers and fries. I feel like this is what another major burger chain used to taste like in the 90's. The food is always fresh, the service is fast and friendly. I was driving through the neighborhood and remembered Jack's was there decided to try one of their breakfast items - "Patty and Egg" which is basically their hamburger with a fried egg. I got their 10 min earlier than their opening but the guy said he'd be open soon, a short wait and I got my order in. Glad I came by and tried it, it hit the spot! Delicious! Decently priced, nice sized portion of fries ( with the option of season salt) to go along with the burger. The reason I am giiving Jack's a 4 star review is because their ranch dressing is terrible If you are going to charge 50 cent per ranch it should be a better quality of ranch dressing just saying. This is definitely not fancy, basically a shack on a busy intersection.The burgers are outstanding hand made patties, super crisp bacon, great lettuce ,tomato and onions. This week we had exceptional service by the cashier who brought out our food( usually have to pick it up), the fries were skinny and delicious. I've never eaten here before until yesterday. I must say the burger and fries were so delicious. Before eating here, I hadn't eaten anything in 16 hours and 5 hours after eating my delicious veggie burger and fries I stated feeling nauseous followed with vomiting, and diarrhea, then the worst abdominal cramps I had ever experienced in my life. This is the place to go for a good classic style burger in North Hollywood. They might not have the biggest parking lot but if you live in the NoHo arts district it's very worth the short walk. The employees are always friendly and polite, and focus on customer satisfaction. I love the Patty and Egg Sandwich. It's my new go-to for when I have a late breakfast. Today I added bacon, which I don't usually do and I was pleasantly surprised that the bacon was real, thick-cut, smoked (judging by the flavor) BACON. They also have fountain drinks and horchata. I don't usually get drinks but I got the root beer once and it was flavorful and refreshing. Yelp wants me to comment on the ambiance. It's an outdoor shack adjacent to a corner shopping center on a 5-way intersection by the highway. Perfect for a romantic date or if you just need a nice place to relax. No but for real, the only complaint about the dining area is that there isn't enough shade in the morning. However, since it's a burger joint, I doubt most people are going there in the morning . An old time burger stand that you must try! My kids wanted a burger and I remembered this place was near where we were driving. I'm so glad we went. We finally tried it and it took me back to those old burger shacks when I was a kid and teen in the 80s! The burger had that taste of nostalgia. It was the traditional ingredients of lettuce, tomato, onion, house sauce ( I went with mayo /mustard) charred taste, slightly greasy (yum!) , toasted bun and just perfect. The fries that came with the combo were shoestring fries that we love. They were slightly soft yet crispy and came in a brown paper bag that made it more enjoyable ! Besides burgers, they have the usual burger joint items- hot dogs, grilled cheese, tacos, chili, etc.. This will be one of my favs from now on. My teens loved it too , who are pretty picky.
