It's kind of hidden and we were curious to try it. We walked in and were greeted with a massive display of chocolates of every kind. Next to the chocolate display, there were cookies and other pastries. The shop was refreshingly cool and very pleasant with wood furniture along with an old school wood bench. The place is small but if you had time, you could definitely enjoy your snack inside. The two women working there were very pleasant and friendly. We ordered a chai latte hot for me, a cold chai latte for my son and my wife ordered a caramel macchiato. To be clear, we were there for my wife. She loves coffee but it is a rare thing when she finds coffee that she likes. More often than not, we go to a promising coffee shop and it falls short. When my wife's face lit up with a smile after her first sip of her caramel macchiato, I was thrilled! There are few things prettier than my wife smiling from joy or, in this case having a great cup of coffee. Since we were in a chocolate shop, I had to order at least a piece of chocolate. The flavors were all different and quirky but it was the apple caramel that caught my fancy. It didn't disappoint!! The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.

I ordered a standard hot latte no added flavor just 2% milk. What I got was a full bodied, rich and smooth cup of coffee. The roast has no bitterness. Very enjoyable. My wife asked for something sweet hot and they recommended a latte with honey and cayenne. It was just right. Kick of heat and not too sweet. A surprising star of our visit was an apple tart! It paired so well with our coffees. It was fresh and a nice balance of crisp tart and warm apple. We also brought one of our dogs with us and Awaken is very pet friendly. There was also another pet owner chilling at a nearby table. Great stop. We highly recommend Awaken if you are in the area. Be advised that parking is paid in the area.

I sat in a big soft chair and was very comfortable! They also have two clean bathrooms, i changed in there after hiking. There weren't enough hanging pegs but they were spacious so still good enough. The staff up front were quick and helpful! No trouble there. And there were a decent number of parking spots out back - that said, by the time I left, the lot was completely full. Not sure where else you could park in the area. Overall, if passing and needing a rest I would rec this spot! But I would try ordering something else besides a London fog ;)
