After a great dinner at Old Market Square, we walked around in search of coffee for my wife. We came upon Coffee & Chocolate right off the square. It's kind of hidden and we were curious to try it. We walked in and were greeted with a massive display of chocolates of every kind. Next to the chocolate display, there were cookies and other pastries. The shop was refreshingly cool and very pleasant with wood furniture along with an old school wood bench. The place is small but if you had time, you could definitely enjoy your snack inside. The two women working there were very pleasant and friendly. We ordered a chai latte hot for me, a cold chai latte for my son and my wife ordered a caramel macchiato. To be clear, we were there for my wife. She loves coffee but it is a rare thing when she finds coffee that she likes. More often than not, we go to a promising coffee shop and it falls short. When my wife's face lit up with a smile after her first sip of her caramel macchiato, I was thrilled! There are few things prettier than my wife smiling from joy or, in this case having a great cup of coffee. Since we were in a chocolate shop, I had to order at least a piece of chocolate. The flavors were all different and quirky but it was the apple caramel that caught my fancy. It didn't disappoint!! The tiramisu tasted like sludge, did they use cake mix? The coffee wasn't anything special. Don't even get me started on the baristas behavior, very rude and unprofessional holding back her laugh as i talked, I know what i was saying was not funny nor a joke so what was her problem. Macarons were lovely, but way too firm and dry. Inside fillings were dense like a frosting that had been left out overnight to dry. They had great flavor options, but none of them had any scent at all - a blackberry vanilla macaron, for example, had the same non-scent as the caramel and the orange creme. Latte and machiatto were both lackluster and at least 1/3 foam. Lots of pretty chocolates, but we didn't taste any so cannot comment. I got a s'mores iced latte 24oz ($8) and it was made in a few minutes. The latte was pretty solid, it had a good chocolate and vanilla taste to it (just missing the smokiness taste). The coffee itself was good with it having 4 shot of expresso it gave me that caffeine hit I needed. Staff were very friendly and the inside was really cute. They also had a variety of sweets and deserts for purchase that also looked amazing. Overall a good experience that I would definitely back to! We were here a year ago and the guy who was the barista did a great job made us amazing coffees and we are feeling like we would return in future. This year on our way to Christmas with family we stopped by again and unfortunately, this time the coffee not only tasted bad, but it was poorly made. Maybe it is just me but if I am about to spend 20+ on chocolate I would like the person selling the chocolate to be a little more Friendly and interested in my business. This was our second visit to this delightful establishment. Our first time was a morning when we were staying nearby and we grabbed some coffee and some chocolate covered espresso beans to-go, which was all amazing! This recent visit was strictly for dessert after a dinner date downtown. It did not disappoint! We order a couple of Macarons and a variety of a dozen chocolates. As much as i love everything else I've tried here, to be honest, I'm not a fan of their Macarons, i prefer French-style macarons with an Italian-Buttercream. But, that's all preference. Came here on a busy Saturday morning, and the line was out the door. You can tell that the locals just love this spot. The good news is the two people working the counter had the line moving quickly and soon I was my happy self with my cappuccino in hand. The inside was bustling with people and there is seating inside as well as outside. The baristas were so pleasant and friendly when I put in my order. There's plenty to choose from here not just coffee. There's of course their famous chocolates, which I will have to try next time. But also on the sweet snack side, there's the following: chocolate chip cookies, ice lemon cookies, Brookies, peanut butter Brookies, blueberry muffins, chocolate waffles, and cholate almond biscotti. All the sweets were $4. My cappuccino was $4 as well, plus $.80 for a flavor shot. I liked how they had a huge selection of flavor shots. And if you like their coffee, you can purchase a 12 oz bag of whole bean coffee for $15 to bring home. Super cute coffee shop that is also a chocolatier. I had the spicy mocha which was really spicy but really good!! Such good quality Of chocolate. It was the perfect temp, really a good mocha! The barista was awesome! So sweet. She was by herself but did a great job juggling all of us. It was a big place but you could sit if you wanted. I did also get a box of 6 assorted chocolates. Coffee and chocolate - two of my favorite things! I couldn't leave Knoxville without stopping by. It was conveniently located riiiight next to my hotel, so I had no excuse not to go. My son and I actually went on our last day in Knoxville, right before checking out of the hotel. Masks are required and the indoor dining room is closed. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman behind the counter when we entered. I ordered a cinnamon honey oat milk latte for myself and a decaf iced caramel macchiato for my son. I know I said chocolates are my favorite, but my eyes were immediately drawn to their giant iced lemon cookies. I was never a fan of lemon flavored desserts, but just recently started to get into lemon cookies. I had to have theirs. I ordered two and gave one to a friend who loves lemon cookies. My son and I enjoyed our drinks. My coffee was nice and strong, just what I needed for the drive home. A cute little shop downtown, and right off the highway. They have hand painted chocolates that are GORGEOUS! I bought a box of 6 for $12. They are delicious and adorable. So beautiful it's hard to eat them! But delicious enough that I am. They also have great coffee - the guy working made me an amazing lavender latte! Four stars because they don't have vegan dessert options that I saw at least it wasn't clearly labeled although I did not ask. Stopped in front and ran in with hubby in the car to get my chocolate fix. Made the mistake of buying 12 for a whopping $37.50. Very poor chocolates. Tiny, weird flavours and mouth feel. Only got dark as that's all I eat and they were more like milk. I spend a lot on chocolates with Godiva, See's and Chatham Candy select-able boxes being my faves so I don't mind spending for quality.
