First off, Willy was super knowledgeable when it came to our rentals. He answered any questions my dad and sister had about the skis and recommended some other ones to try throughout the week. He was able to point me in the right direction when I had questions about my board! Overall this place was great. All the staff there were helpful and were able to get us in and out each day. Loved this place 100% Until today, hence the 4 Star rating rather than my previous five. I love the guys who do the tuning/waxing....Ben, Stump, and Eric....and Stephanie is great and always helpful. My "quarrel" is with Jackson....I respect that he won't me give the sales price I think is right on a pair of demos, but as a locker renter and regular customer for over two years, I do expect a level of courtesy and politeness that I did not receive. I still will be a regular customer, but am a bit disappointed. Postscript--All Good and back to five stars. We can all do better when it comes to civility. read more

Jackson's Base Camp is THE most convenient demo shop I have ever been to as it is just steps from the slope. Demo a pair of high end skis and swap them for another in 15 minutes and be back on the slopes. Great selection of skis to try. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. 5 stars. read more

This review is now two plus years overdue. Time may have blurred my memories of the names and faces of the Jackson's Base Camp staff, but the joy they gave me will forever linger. I chose the demo route, and they had me in and out the door in minutes fully prepared to take on current mountain conditions. The staff took my demo request on quite short notice and had no reservations about allowing me to switch my skis as necessary given daily snow conditions. This capability enabled me to fully maximize my Park City vacation and to shred with just enough prowess to impress the girl I was chasing. Excellent proximity to at least four chairlifts more than justified the higher price point than surrounding off-site rental and demo shops, and the personalized and rapid customer service resulted in a highly efficient and impressive exchange. BEST BEST BEST! We wondered in on our way to another rental place and they were so nice and accommodating! All we needed was a board rental for me and by the time we left we rented for my husband and myself, I bought new gloves (I LOOOOOOVE them!!!), and 3 of us bought new goggles (we all LOVE these) and we also got the great plastic flask they had, which came in very handy on the mountain. We also plan to call at the end of March to buy equipment they will be retiring. We snowboard every year and have been all over the US and Canada, but in complete honesty, Jacksons has been, by far, the nicest place, with the BEST customer service, we have ever experienced! Did not encounter the same positive experience as other reviewers. Rented snowboard and ski gear for 3 days after finding place on Yelp. 1. Owner nickel and dimed is. Upgraded to demo board for 2nd day. Returned after one run (30 min) as board was non-responsive on turns. Asked Jackson the owner for help in getting another board. He put me back on the same basic rental board but found out the next day that he charged me for the demo board anyways . When I asked about it, he said, "well, I set you up on the demo board" and then charged me for half a day. 2. Understaffed. We arrived at 8am after making reservations online. It took 30 min to set us up (2 people) with gear. There were only 2 other customers in the shop at the time, one of which walked out after waiting 20 minutes. Would not recommend based on our experience. read more

Awesome experience! My husband reserved our equipment online the night prior to pickup. Walked in the next day and immediately got fitted for boots and boards. Jackson helped us and even matched our boots and bindings to our pants and jackets! I thought that was a great touch. The other employees were also very helpful and knowledgeable. What a fun, skillful, helpful group of folks! Four of us from the northeast skied at Park City 7 days and appeared in their shop first thing every morning to pick up our rental skis and leave our street shoes for the day. The basket rental was very easy and efficient. Switching out skis was not a problem (and was encouraged). Everyone was gracious, helpful ("Need help putting on/taking off your boots?") and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great Utah ski experience. We highly recommend this shop! These guys are awesome!!! Professional, friendly, humble and accommodating!! They treat you with respect as well. Their equipment is the best too. My wife and I actually rode on brand new skis and boots. At end of day 1 I decided to try a different ski that was a bit more mogul-friendly; they had me in and out with another new pair in less than 5 minutes. I have been renting from this place for years and even bought two boards from them last year. This year I rented a powder board and one of the bindings came apart. When I told the rental manager he said this happens in snow and I am responsible for making sure bolts are tight. Even though the strap was a different color and clearly not the original. Most likely they just forgot to use lock-tight when assembling. The manger then went on to charging me for an additional day since I was an hour late returning in the morning. I was shocked with how poor the customer service was and never plan to go back. read more

Jackson and Logan (really the entire staff was a pleasure) were great to work with, we have a small area, we wanted their furniture on our patio and they were able to make it work. This place used to be great. But since they expanded the culture has changed. We asked to have our skis waxed for pickup on Wednesday (to avoid the opening day rush). But when we showed up to pick it up, it wasn't done and they claimed the note said pickup on Thursday. What's worse, is they aren't even busy, people are just hanging out. Sadly, it is time to find a new basecamp. read more

These guys are great. This is our second year renting from them and we could not be happier. Their online specials can't be beat. They were great in dealing with kids and wanted to make sure that if you had any concerns or problems with their equipment, that you came back to them to get it switched out or fixed. Bonus. They let you drop your skis with them each evening to pick up the next morning if you don't want to haul them back to your car or hotel. We will use them again when we return to PC. read more

Disappointed in the customer service this season. We are returning customers and have bought boards from here. I let them know the board they gave me had a janky binding. The screw came completely out once and the binding was lost- would have ruined the entire day of boarding. After luckily finding it in the snow minutes later it still came loose after every run and was nerve racking to think it could fall off at any moment. I just wanted to make them aware so it didn't happen to another customer and they just said "that's how the binding is, there's nothing wrong with it" and did not apologize or seem the least bit concerned. Odd. Then we were told we were being charged an extra full day after being just 1 hour late to return the boards that morning, having a hard time in traffic making it up to the mountain. Disappointing customer service and won't be renting there again. read more

My family and I just returned from a week of skiing in Park City. "Stacey" the lovely woman who rented us her Airbnb, strongly suggested we rent our equipment from Jackson's Base Camp. Her exact words were, "Jackson will take good care of you." That was an understatement! Jackson's staff are super attentive and friendly. They were patient and careful about putting us in the 'right' gear. They stored our skis & poles each night ('valet') and upon arrival each morning, they would line up our skis outside the store, only about twenty steps to the snow. When you are in the store, there is never a shortage of help. Jackson's team is always checking to see if you need assistance. His team members really takes their jobs seriously, which is why many of them have been with Jackson for years! Jackson himself is a ski equipment guru. I was having problems with my own brand new pair of boots. They were comfortable when I purchased them in Los Angeles, but after a day of skiing, my feet and ankles were killing me. Jackson spent three days on and off working on my boots to remove the 'hot spots,' even creating custom insoles to redistribute some of the pressure on my feet. Ultimately, I opted to demo a pair of Head boots for the last two days; one of the best decisions of the trip. Through it all, Jackson was always there with an encouraging word and a laid-back no-pressure attitude. For a ski trip to be successful, so many moving parts need to work together and ski rentals are one of the most important. My wife and I found Jackson's on Yelp. I have been skiing and renting skis most of my life. These guys were the BEST I have ever used. They have very reasonable demo packages that allow you to swap out and try several different types of skis, even in the middle of the day. Also the shop has a very personal feel. In the past when renting skis, I have felt like a cow being herded from station to station. These guys take care of everything in one convenient spot. Aside from the rentals, they offer advice on where to eat, which runs to ski, and where to have some apres ski refreshments. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a vacation to Park city. Stopped in after 4th of July and several stores in the PCMR had demo ski sales. Jackson's had very good skis from previous year for demo sales. The sales girls were very knowledgeable as we had questions about all mountain wide skis. They had really good deals on demo Elan Rip Stick 96 and DPS Wailer 99 Foundation. Both were in good condition. They were very convincing that we were going to love them as they were very well reviewed skis. Ended up picking up both and will be back later for complementary boot fitting and ski tuning. read more

Demo'd skis here for a week while staying in park city. The selection here is the best around, I was able to try as many different skis as I wanted during my trip which was fun. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable their recommendations based on mountain conditions were on point. I went onto Yelp and the business that stood out was Jackson's Base Camp in Park City, Utah. So I went ahead and reserved online. While at Jackson's, my wife was asked if she would like help in putting on her boots and when the skis were stored, my wife was asked if she would like help taking off her boots. A true 5 star company. I rented skis from them twice for my 2 year old (the smallest set they had!) One of the days, my son was not into skiing at first. We went back and they let us store the skis and boots at their store for about an hour until my son decided he was ready to ski again. We went back and put the gear back on and he had a great time skiing. The staff are all really friendly and great at getting you in and out and on the slopes. The prices are great as well. They are fairly cheap as they gave us a group discount. And the staff is really nice. But the material is not in good shape. We had several issues on the mountain with broken straps on bindings or bindings coming completely off. Furthermore, I rented a demo snowboard of this years season but they gave me a binding that was probably 8 years old and not made for performance. Not a good service at all. Great experience here. After a quick chat with Chris about what skis I was looking for, he set me up with a pair of Elan Ripsticks that looked brand new. I kept those skis for the duration of my trip but Chris made sure to point out that I could switch them out for others at any point for no extra charge. They had a huge inventory so maybe I should have tried others but I was having too much fun on the first pair. Reasonable prices, fast service, friendly staff. Highly recommend! read more

Rented last week, everything is real good about this place as stated. The biggest advantage is the price is unbeatable, friendly and helpful service. Close to the lift. Two things that kept me from giving it a five. I rented the base package and my ski's didnt seam to glide well, dont know if the waxing wasnt done well or ??. Recommend paying ten dollars more and getting perhaps a better ski. They dont have lockers for your boots, but alot of people go to Legacy and rent locker for ten dollars a day. Perhaps when they move to a larger location next year they could add lockers, that would be great. I will rent again read more
