First a disclaimer: I do know the owners. That said, I think Jackson's Kitchen excels at tasty comfort food. The first time I went, a few months after they opened, I saw chicken cacciatore on the specials menu and asked about it. Turned out that was the previous day's special but the owner whipped some up special for me. I was impressed - really nice flavor. I don't really live nearby but I try to stop by when I'm in the neighborhood. My favorite is the grilled cheese sandwich with fries. Also, the mac and cheese is amazing - it's not on the menu but it is often in the takeout case. Jackson's kitchen isn't really an eat in place but there is one table with a couple of chairs. read more

Definitely a mini-gem of a place. Me an the girl not too long ago couldn't decide what or where to eat, so we came to the bastion of food ideas that is Yelp and happened upon Jackson's Kitchen after a tense game of eenie-meenie-miny-moe. On that first trip, she got the steak tip dinner while I got the turkey club. Her steak tips were accompanied by vegetables and rice pilaf and were very succulent and great.. .while my lowly turkey club was less them impressive for the amount I paid for it, (although the turkey in it was great and the fries that came with it were great and made up for it's small stature). Despite my shortcomings of ordering a lackluster dinner, we were both intrigued by our food so decided we'd go back another time. On our second trip we had a much better idea of what we were gonna get, so the results were better with the grill cheese w/fries she had and my steak tip dinner I had. Both were delicious. The place is clean, the guys working there seemed friendly (pretty sure the owner was the one working the kitchen)... and the food was made to order very quickly. New to the neighborhood, food looked delicious on yelp so I placed a take out order via phone. I got the grilled salmon dinner plate and it was absolutely everything I needed. Cheap, yummy fast and healthy. Great price for the quality and quantity. Will return and recommend!! read more

Love there ready to take out dishes. Two of our favorites our there chicken soup, and stuffed peppers. Also love other dishes which they will make for you when ordered such as there chicken salad sub made on a nice fresh crusty sub spuckie roll. Great take out option! The dinners are definitely less guilt option for take out. I got the steak tip dinner and bf got a turkey sub. He enjoyed the bread but said the filling was a bit bland. Very bad experience! Today a group of 10 people called in an order and were told to pick up in 25 minutes. The people who went to get our food waited 45 minutes while four other parties were served. NONE of our meals were prepared before the arrival. I ordered a tuna fish sandwich on wheat bread with lettuce. I got a sub, with single scrap of deteriorating salad green. Other members of the party got burnt grilled chicken on their salads. Another member of the group got a small salad that featured more of the deteriorating greens. Other people had slightly better luck with their sandwiches. Do not plan to call in orders to save time. The kitchen is disorganized and the counter person is nice, but the wait and the iffy quality makes Jackson's Kitchen a loser. read more

Went here based on the Yelp reviews, bullseye! The place is small, more of a pick your orders type of a place, three seats. But the food... Juicy teriyaki chicken, great steak with vegetables. If you are looking for tasty healthy food, this is the place. And they have pasta and other stuff too. read more

Couple things. I've had about a dozen take out orders from these guys, and most have been pretty good. No major complaints other than the runt of the litter sized sub rolls. The food is pretty good otherwise. Then today happened. I decided to get my turkey sub, in a wrap. Based on the sub roll size, I should have known. I pulled it out of the bag, and it looked curiously small. Then I unwrapped it out of the wax paper, and it started to look hilarious. Then I unwrapped it out of the tin foil, and it was an all out comedy show. It was my turkey wrap. It was basically the size of a hot dog. Not even the ones you get at fenway, way too big for the bun. Nope. This was your oscar meyer sized hot dog from the grocery store. Jackson's Kitchen, you have to huddle up on this. Get rid of the wrap option or charge the $2.99, pinky sandwich price(not even a finger sandwich), instead of the large sub price you're charging. You just can't have this type of surprise let down when you're ordering a legitimate meal(lunch), and think you can get away with it. If there was a 0 star option, I would have hung it on your collective foreheads. read more

I lived next to Jackson's for a long time and i remember when they first open, like it was yesterday. I decided to give it a shot and it was the best decision ever. Ive been a loyal customer for a long time. The food is so amazing That we used to order at least twice a week. Listen up kids, it's young restaurant with huge potential, and when I say huge potential I mean to take on the behemoth down the street (Nick's Place). I have been there about 7 times and have never been disappointed. I am an expert on club sandwiches, self proclaimed yes, but expert nonetheless. They have the best turkey club in Boston, it's fresh roasted, who does that, huh the answer starts with "N", and stands for no one! Mother came to visit, got a meatball sub, she said it as the best. Took a colleague after work, got a Italian, and he said it was the best he ever had, and please don't get me started about he fries, to late, the food went from Lexington/Arlington line to the Burlington mall area in Middlesex turnpike traffic near the new Dunkin Donuts! 20 minutes and they were still seriously crispy! The chef, not cook, not dude with q funny hat, a full fledged culinary guru (inside joke) is on top of it! Highly recommend this place! He has a magic fryolator! I also had the spicy bean salad, and the pea, bacon Mac salad with the stuffed pepper the last time I went and it was perfect, with plenty for leftovers, and i am piggy! Jackson's kitchen is great for both take out and dine in. Their prices are also very, very reasonable. $7 or $8 buys you almost any sandwich on the menu. If you've never been here before, I would recommend the classic club. They make it four different ways with roast turkey, egg salad, tuna, or chicken salad. I have yet to try the egg salad version, it just sounds a little strange to me, but I think I'll try it next time I stop in. The other 3 I've tried and they're all great. I usually get them on French bread. Can't go wrong for $7.50. I would definitely give Jacksons kitchen a try if you've never been here. read more

We had some food catered from Jackson's Kitchen for a party. It was DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. The owner is a cool guy and will give you a warm greeting. The Teryaki chicken was well seasoned and delicious. I'm still eating the rice pilaf, i portioned it out in small bags so I could enjoy the leftovers over a few days. At a loss for what to make for dinner driving home from work and thought of Jackson's Kitchen nearby so stopped in to check it out. I got the Chicken Parm and my husband decided on the Shepherd's Pie. Both were yummy! I'm a big fan of comfort food in general so it was refreshing to get large portions at a reasonable price. Picts of the owner's toddler son cooking up a storm in the kitchen line the walls, making it clear that the passion for cooking runs through this family. Really high quality, home-cooked and reasonably priced meals. We got the chicken parmesan sandwich, spaghetti with meatballs, mac and cheese, and bean salad. All were excellent, but my favorites were the chicken parm sandwich (lots of tender meat cooked to perfection) and bean salad (simple but amazingly good). Very interesting concept: a mostly take-out place serving good quality sandwiches, soups. It gets crowded sometimes but it's worth the wait. We enjoyed our foods. They do have a very small counter space if you want to eat-in, but count on a take-out experience. read more

I recently decided to go into Jackson's after months of passing it by. I was very impressed by the food preparation, taste, quality and service. Another important measure of an eatery is the way the cooking and final wrap-up station appears. The areas are impeccable; I have not been in a pizza, deli or any other restaurant in the area where it appears you could eat off the counter. Their salads are better than any local eateries and the cost is similar. Their food is just like homemade and we all know how difficult that can be. They stick with a conservative menu, ensuring that the fine quality is never affected. Great Job Rony and Kim! Please keep it up and I will continue to be a faithful client... We use Jackson's for those nights when the family can't quite agree on what we should have for dinner and neither my wife nor I have been able to get the market. The grown-ups in our family are particularly fans of the Greek salad with grilled chicken. The kids love the burgers, fries, and grilled cheese. Ordered a chicken parm sub. Chose this place due to fairly great reviews. Sub was medium sized on a french/sub roll. The cutlets were too thick for my liking and lacked much flavor. Their marinara sauce is your typical sweet "ANY TOWN House of Pizza" style or Greek sub shop'ish. Their sauce is not unique at all. The sub was edible but lackluster. The french fries were good, cooked nicely, salted and quite a bit for a small size. Noticed their take out dinners in the display case and seemed fairly small portioned for the price tags. 2 subs, 2 soda's and a small fry for $21. Highly unlikely to return. read more

I'm slightly embarrassed how many times my family has ordered from here. I can't get enough of the salmon meal, the burger (which we order for our daughter) is so juicy and delicious, I end up eating half of it myself. My husband's go-to is the buffalo chicken wrap. We've tried quite a lot from the menu and we're never disappointed with our choice. This is the only place where I don't feel bad ordering from since the food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. The owners are so very friendly. I had the grilled chicken dinner plate the first time I went. 5 times later, I still have the same thing. It's so so delicious! I comes with rice pilaf, grilled vegetables, and a salad. The dressing? Amazingly light vinaigrette, pairs perfectly well with everything else. It's a primarily take out place so dine in's will be a little slower. Everybody I take here seems to rave about it as well. This is our favorite quick takeout place. They have a variety of prepared foods in the fridge, prices aren't low but quality is great. Both the chicken and turkey soups are rich with content. Mac and cheese is a kid's favorite. This is as far as you can get from the boxed stuff. But the absolute favorite is the fish tacos. We rarely get anything else.
