Lose a star on the bread. It's typical lifeless, stark white, gummy sub roll/french loaf that's all over New England. Drags the sandwich down. Please find a better bakery to supply these. read more

Both me and my son got a 1/4 of a pickle spear in our baskets...1 inch...they cut up the spears..very strange. Then got robbed when I paid for it. $12 + $11 + smallest bag of chips (1oz) and a cheap soda, so the chips and the soda were $5. I'll never be back. This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. I didn't know why it took me so long to try. It is small place for takeout only. They don't have a big book of menu items, but do cover most homemade dishes we would want for a family meal, from burgers, sandwiches, to pasta, salad, grilled steak/lamb/chicken. The price is reasonable and the portion is generous. Note you need to call one day ahead of time if you need a big meal to feed 4+ people. We tried cheeseburger, buffalo fingers, and homemade meatballs. The cheeseburger was delicious, an explosion of flavor at the first bite! The meatballs were well seasoned. The buffalo fingers looked dark and not attractive, but tasted surprisingly good. We were happy with our meal, and would come back again. read more

Finding this place was one bright local spot in the pandemic. I'd driven past, but never checked it out, big mistake! If you want really good comfort food like meatloaf and fries, you got it. If you want a salad with grilled salmon, also delicious! They have great brownies at the register and Orange Crush in a glass bottle, and all sorts of good stuff. Nice family run place. Oh how I regret driving by this little gem so many times. Jackson's Kitchen is located very close to home, however it took me much too long to give it a try. I went in after reading all the great reviews right here on Yelp. The food at Jackson's really does taste like true home cooking. I am a huge fan of their grilled chicken and grilled salmon dinners. The dinners come with delicious rice pilaf and a salad. Most of the menu items are somewhat high-carb, but there are some lighter choices as well such as the grilled chicken salad with delicious tender chicken. The food is always packed and presented nicely. There is very limited seating (one table) and Jackson's is designed for mostly take out. Definitely a convenient alternative on those nights when you can't decide what is for dinner or perfect for grabbing a quick lunch. The owner and staff are all very friendly and helpful. I am quickly becoming a regular at Jackson's and only wished I had tried it sooner! read more

Yummy homemade food. Stopped by on the way home from work one evening when we didn't feel like cooking. I think you can part on the street while waiting for your food. Note that there is only one table here, not really a sit down place to eat. The people here seem super nice! I got a cheeseburger, which comes with fries and salad. The burger was nice and pink, and I'm really impressed that it wasn't greasy at all. Fries were delicious, but perhaps consider packing the salad separately? I'm a weirdo and don't like things to get soggy. =P The husband got a meatball plate with pasta and grudgingly allowed me a bite - delicious and also not fatty tasting! I think they put a lot of thought into their food, and hold off on the salt and fat. And our kids love the pasta and chicken tenders (they are fancier than regular chicken tenders.) Jackson is known for drawing pictures and jokes at the check out counter. But I will say that everyone we interacted with there were extremely pleasant, the place was remarkably clean, dinners were packed up nicely but just not entirely flavorful. We had meatballs and chicken parm with linguine, although the garlic bread was a nice touch. I may give it another shot for sandwiches, fries and salad sometime and update afterwards as it would be great to have a near-by go to place for fresh, quick dinners. So I stopped at Jackson's Kitchen (across from Bermans and near TJs). I'll be stopping here frequently. I got the Salmon Pie--I know it was supposed to be two servings but no one was home and I was hungry. Splendid. And the blondie with chocolate chips (my appetizer) with real butter. Gone. I discovered this hole in the wall two weeks ago. Consistently amazing each visit. Great take out. My favorite dish is their chicken teriyaki breast, salad, rice and vegetables for like $11. Its very good. I don't like how they can't custom make the chicken without teriyaki sauce because its already pre-marianted but the chicken still tastes very fresh, juicy, and flavorful. They have REAL BURGERS, by which I mean fresh buns with actual vegetables and meat from animals that were once truly alive as opposed to being grown in a McVat from cow McEmbryos. They also do their french fries right (and ok, I can't admit I hate McFries, because that would be a McLie-- but these are better!), and the salads are on the good side of generic- the veggies/lettuce always seem fresh and crispy. I like to cook dinner for the family, but I recently had a bad case of the flu that sapped all my energy for an entire two weeks. My teens were missing their home cooked meals, so we visited Jackson's Kitchen for some prepared take out entrees. We chose the Chicken Cacciatore and the Meat Lasagna (there was a vegetarian version available, too). The chicken was FABULOUS!! The dish was better than mine, and the flavors in the sauce were pure Cacciatore heaven. The Lasagna was absolutely divine and it really hit that old spot that the family had been having cravings for. I already went back for more entrees and since it was lunchtime I picked up a roasted turkey club sandwich that was killer. We will definitely be going to Jackson's Kitchen frequently for the quality, value and the pure INTEGRITY of the food. The owners are delightful and their business is clearly a labor of love! Entrees are priced at around $7.00 for a hearty serving that I would say is enough for a dinner with some left for the next day's lunch unless you decide to supersize and eat it all up at once because it's so good you can't stop! The variety of offerings for the carry out entrees changes weekly and there are always three or four home-made soups packed for carry out, too. You can have a grilled meal cooked to order if you want, otherwise the fresh pre-packed entree meals microwave beautifully and you can grab and go on a busy day!
