This Jewerly store is the biggest ripoff! I had two major issues with Jacob and he does not stand by his word. Integrity is out the window! My first issue, was the diamond did not seem to be the same one I picked. When I picked up my ring I could visually see major flaws in the diamond . Secondly, I picked another diamond, but the ring had cracks, scratches, and debris. This obviously was a used ring that someone had before. We really enjoy coming by to see Jacob and his staff. I bought my wife's engagement and wedding rings from him over ten years ago. I later came back and purchased an anniversary band. I trusted his honesty integrity and ability to give me something that I was really going to like at a really good price and he did not disappoint. My husband and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and I wanted to get something special but stay within a pretty tight budget. Bought my ring here agreed on a stone and a price also on the ring was told it would be a few days. my fiance picked up the ring and i was so excited and of course couldn't stop staring at it. that is when i noticed HUGE BLACK INCLUSIONS IN MY RING!!!!!! i could see it with my bare eye no eye loop needed!!!!! I was furious!!! i was told it was a VS2 quality so we call and he says no i said it was a SI1 quality and the stones on the side of the RING not the diamond are VS2. I take it to a jeweler to be appraised right away. Turns out the stone is SI2 so i ask what about the stones on the side she tells me its a mixture SI1 and SI2 also some are chipped. I go to downtown with my fiance the next day ON CRUTCHES since i recently had surgery and demanded that he honor what we agreed on. Jacob said that i would have to pay more to get the stone we agreed on, of course i refused and he said no he couldn't do it. i told him he shouldn't have offered a stone that was not what he was going to give me. He said he will lose money by giving me an VS1 stone i told him then he shouldn't be offering that quality stone at a price he cannot afford to sell it at. He finally changed the stone for me while letting me know that "i am not happy about this!" to which i replied " and i was not happy to see big black inclusions in my ring!" The stone he gave me looks a bit smaller i have not gone to get it appraised but as long as i dont see huge black marks in my diamond i am happy. That is what i get for buying from here. TIPS if you do buy here Get everything in writing DETAILED do not let him write diamond ring make him write the quality the color etc the "certificate" he offers if HIS appraisal even after i had asked if it was a third party appraisal it is not a real certification Save yourself time and TROUBLE and go somewhere else. an experience that should have been beautiful and memorable turned out to be me almost going to court. read more

The ring was delivered on time and on budget (it's a sad commentary that this is a positive selling point) and it looks fantastic. I was able to negotiate a MUCH better deal through Jacob than with the myriad other sellers in the area. Never do business with Jacob! Ever! He is a SNAKE. I wish there was an option for NO STAR, because he doesn't even deserve a single one. My wife and I put a deposit down to have wedding bands ordered. The date was July 3rd. Jacob, the owner said it would take 3-5 days to complete the order because of the holiday, so we agreed. Two weeks later, no phone call after we paid the deposit and so we decided to check in on the status of the order. He told us it would be ready by 7/21. Ok, so we were a bit upset about the delay but were willing to wait. The day before the scheduled pick up date, i called him to confirm. He said OK its a go. 30 mins later, he calls me back and tells me I NEED TO PAY $800 MORE!!! What is THIS?? bait and switch? call it whatever you want, but this guy is SHADY. DO NOT do business with his establishment. They get you in thinking you got a great deal, MAKE YOU WAIT, then after you're frustrated enough and waited long enough, you give in and pay. Sucks. They just try to squeeze every dollar they can out of you. The old man in the front has horrible attitude but bought a ring anyways because I liked the color and style. After I bought a ring that I thought I was getting a great deal for realized they charged more than the California tax rate. Still decided the get it anyways because my parents convinced me it was a pretty ring for my girlfriend and said it was a size 6 but can adjust it later after I hive it to her and that I could bring it back in and they will adjust it for us. So I was whatever about the excessive fees that they had charged me. After bringing it back in to get it fixed they said yes they will get it done by the end of the day and had no problem. Save your hard earned money! What a horrible man this Jacob guy I got my wedding band from him a few years ago (very expensive) and he tells me to save my receipt because he gives lifetime warranties on his jewelry. Since the ring has diamond all around it I figured what a great deal and buy the ring from him (not to mention that he started with a price of $2800 and then sold it to me for $900 - but that upcharge attempt is a diff story). A few months into it, 2 diamonds fall out. I go back to him and the lady that was there (he was not) takes the ring and fixes it and apologizes and promises to tighten the prongs. I stopped wearing the ring every day and only pull it out on special occasions. A year ago, the diamond fall out AGAIN!! I was in the neighberhood and stopped in to ask him to fix it but didn't have my receipt and he tells me "no! That's not my ring! I don't sell rings like this!" So I left. Find my receipt, go back to this scumbag and he tells me "$150 to fix". What?? What happened to ur lifetime warranty? Now you not denying that it's your ring? What a rip off! He is a jerk and does not stand by his word! Sticks his nose up and thinks I will pay double of what any other reasonable jeweler will do it for? I am never never going back to this guy again! Like I said, save your money and go next door to St. Vincent or anywhere else for that matter. I walked out very upset, walked in next door to a jeweler in the St. Vincent store and the wonderful lady charged me $70 for 2 diamonds, tightened the prongs, cleaned and polished it for me! $70 from someone whom I didn't even buy the ring from and he was gonna charge $150?? From an actual customer??? I guess he doesn't care about taking care of his people and having repeat business! Thank goodness for the lady next door. UPDATE: After a week since my mother-in-law's visit to the store, we called Jacob to check on the status of our certificate. Once again, Jacob said he had just recently submitted the report and it should take a month for us to receive it. Really? Had he submitted it right after our purchase then we would have gotten it by then. But OK fine we decided that we were going to give him a second chance and just wait. A few days later after our phone conversation, Jacob called my fiancé, angrily questioned over the phone why we left him such a bad review and that it would really ruin his business with other customers. Oh don't you think that you deserve it, Jacob? If you are worried the negative review would bring your business down then why don't you start making it right instead of angrily arguing with your customers like that? My fiancé then told him that if we get the report then we will either remove the review or make it a more positive one. Jacob then went crazy over the phone screaming "no no no you just return me the ring! Return me the ring!" He kept on screaming that over and over the phone that my fiancé got so fed up and just hung up on him. Fast forward 5 weeks later now we still have not received anything from him. So I decided that I would post the update. Bottom line is please do not come here unless you wish your experience to be ruined. Also if you do come, expect Jacob, the owner, with no smiles whatsoever and always looks like he's attending a funeral or something. An experience that should have been memorable to us has been ruined, thanks to Jacob. His review has now gone from 2 stars to 1 star. Forget about the certificate, I will still stand by my review and speak the truth no matter what happens. On November 28, 2015 I went shopping for an engagement ring with my fiancé and in-laws. After a few hours of shopping around the area, I was finally able to pick out a ring I liked from Jacob Jewelry Inc. However, Jacob informed us that the rock I had picked was not directly from his store but from a third party, therefore he did not have the certificate with him at the moment. Jacob then promised us over and over again that he would mail the certificate to our address. So we decided to purchase it anyway because we were all so worn out after a long day of shopping around and did not wish for the shopping trip to be carried on any longer. After 4 weeks from the purchase date, we still had not received his certificate in the mail. So last week, my mother-in-law came to his store to shop and she brought our receipt with her and questioned Jacob to give us the certificate. At this point, you would think that he would have the certificate with him but maybe hadn't had a chance to mail it out or something. Interestingly, he did not even have the certificate with him. He then promised my mother-in-law again that he would mail it to us as soon as possible. Now it's been another week and we still have not received anything from him. SO UPSET. My fiance bought me a beautiful diamond ring for our engagement, we took our time choosing a setting and a diamond and we finally chose a 1.02ct and a beautiful setting, it all looked perfect and we paid. It was too big but he told me to just keep it as it is and wear for a bit before rushing to make smaller. When we arrived back in London we noticed two big black inclusions in my diamond. These were not there when we bought the ring :( :( we are now back in London so how do we get this resolved. I am too scared to even go and get it appraised here for fear that he scammed us :( :( The diamonds he was using to sample sizes etc were from his pocket and these definitely did NOT have inclusions. My ring was so shiny by the time we had a chosen a diamond for the price he offered ($6500) no inclusion was visible, now that it has slightly dulled the two inclusions are so noticeable I actually dont even want anyone to look at my ring incase they ask what the black marks are. Jacob cheated us when he sold us a inferior and poor quality stone. He performed the "bait and switch" during our purchase of an engagement ring along with wedding bands. I demanded our money back in October 2013 and he refused. I took Jacob to court in January 2014 and won. It was a sweet victory for me.
