After "almost" making a horrible decision by getting treatment from Mr. Rispler (I definitely discredit him being a doctor), I don't want anyone else to be fooled and be put through the anger I went through. Therefore, Im planning to copy and paste my review on every review website possible. I have suffered from acne for 6 years and have seen many dermatologists through the years. I actually went to rispler right when I started breaking out with my mother (I was 15 years old). When we came for the appointment back in 2005, he looked at my face for literally 10 seconds ,if not less, and told my mom it'll cost 12,000 dollars. Keep in mind, I was just "starting" to break out ,so I only had a few pimples. My mom thought it was absurd and we left. Now 6 years later, I keep hearing his advertisement on the radio. Nothing seemed to help my acne ,so I was desperate and the commercials seemed plausible. Plus it was a free consultation. Usually it costs over a hundred dollars to have a consultation with a dermatologist since you get to see him/her and receive a diagnosis. I made myself an appointment and arrived to see Dr. Rispler. Too my surprise, the "free consultation" was with a salesman wearing a black suit. He sat me down looked at my face ,and started to draw me an elementary picture of a laser hitting a zit and how Risplers special lasers will help. He then wrote 12000 dollars and circled it. Being the salesman that he is, he saw my bewildered look and miraculously said they are giving the same deal for 8000 dollars for a limited time. I am a college student. No way am I able to pay so much money. He told me he couldn't go lower and "guarantees" my acne will be gone and my scars will be atleast 60 percent lighter. Even though it was pricey, I was never guranteed by any other dermatologist office that my acne will be gone. Ignorance and excitement came over me. It became my soul mission to get this money. My mom was totally against it since she dealt with Rispler before and told me from the start that he is a fraud. I had more questions about Risplers technique so I made an appointment to see the actual Rispler. I had to pay 150 dollars to see him. I came to his Beverly hills location. I sat in the room with one of his assistants Lisa. She was also selling me the program. Buttering me up and trying to make me feel like Rispler will solve all my acne problems. Rispler finally came into the room. He looked at my face and started to talk about the basics of acne. I couldn't afford 8000 dollars but he said he'll do a bit more than half the treatments if I paid 6000 dollars instead. He told me Ill feel like a new person after hes done with me. I was sold and wanted to believe that this is the answer to all my problems. One of his businessmen named Lisa kept in touch with me. She was very helpful in keeping me under this awful spell. I believed everything. Since I knew my parents weren't willing to spend money on "a fraud", I went to my grandma to ask for money. I felt so ashamed but I was desperate to get rid of this acne. Even though she was skeptical she gave me 3000 dollars. I was then planning to take out money that my grandpa left me after he passed away to pay the next 3000 dollars in a month since I was on a payment plan. Finally the day has arrived that I will get clear skin. I've been dealing with the disproval by my parents, the constant phone calls with Lisa, and my acne for too long. I came to the office and paid the first installment of 3 grand. 1st red flag: To my surprise a nurse was going to perform all these treatments on me NOT RISPLER. 2nd red Flag: I asked to talk to rispler and he looked at my face and told me it looks like a "war". Yes my face was bad but I honestly felt like he was over exaggerating. Then he said he wants to make my face look like his "porsche' and not like a "Toyota". I laughed nervously. What kind of doctor says this to his patients!? I would ask him questions but he would half answer them. He would constantly leave the room and I would ask the nurse to bring him back so I can feel more confident with going through laser and looking fine for school. Shit if someone was paying me 3000 dollars, I would answer their questions for a week. I asked him another question and he literally freaked out. He raised his voice and said he can't deal with this and told the nurses to deal with me. Ironically lisa was there, I told her I want my money back. Without hesitation, she put the money back on my debit card and I walked out with the money I came with. Who knows maybe the treatment might've worked ...but through everyone elses reviews it probably wouldn't. I wish I didn't waste my time and listened to everyones reviews about this horrible doctor. He is a fake and a phony who doesn't even perform his own procedures. He also talks to his nurses and assistants like they are trash. Now the total cost i have paid them is almost $15,000 including all those creams, medications, and cleanser and take note visitation fee of $150 and $125 the last time, etc, they even asked me to by a specific Razor for my facial hair, plus i have to cancel at work at least 3 days EVERY after treatment because of the burned skin in my face after treatment have to let it heal. including all the money i lost because i cancel at work its gonna be total of approx $18,000, i have all the receipts that's why i can tell you this. This make my stomach hurts every time i think of this, all the money time spent and effort driving to that stupid office is worthless cant even provide a parking for their customers after all of that money they charged me. i have to walk 2 blocks under the sun to find parking RIDICULOUS. Seriously save your time and money and don't even consider making an appointment with any of his office locations. Don't fall for any of his adds on the radio or any magazines he might be on. Both my brother and I went to get treated for acne scars, when we both had our consultation (at the same time) and we didn't even meet the doctor, we met his business partner (Which I'm stupid for not even taking that as a red flag!) We both literally assumed he was the doctor at first, because usually when you go to a professional doctors office for a consultation (that you pay a $125 for each person), you are going to speak to a DOCTOR. That day we both were conned into buying only 9 laser sessions for $8,000, and then some. I look back and regret even agreeing to paying that much to remove a few minor scars on my cheeks. So a few weeks go buy and I'm seeing no difference what's so ever on my face (except I had a chicken pox scar that got deeper) and I told my nurse what my concerns were, my nurse then responded that it would take a year or longer to see any difference. UHHH EXCUSE ME! A YEAR??? I did not know that! And this is why you need to meet an actual doctor to tell him what is bothering you, and what he can do to help! A few months ago I had my FREE consultation at Laser and Dermatology Institute. I met with one of the consultants first and thought he is extremely knowledgeable & professional. After I met with the consultant I felt confident to start treatment that same day. Dr. Rispler is one of the smartest dermatologist I've ever met. I asked tons of questions and he was very patient with me and answered every question I had. Dr. Rispler explained to me that it would take 6-8 treatments to laser off my facial hair permanently. After the consultation I was super exited to get started. I had my first laser hair removal treatment at the Covina office. A nurse named Teresa did my first treatment she was very gentle. She numbed my face and gave me some protective goggles for my eyes and she explained into detail what she was doing. She zapped my face with the laser a few times and I was done. OMG, I was so surprised that I was done with my first laser treatment so fast. The lasers felt like warm tiny stings on my face but it was virtually painless. I rarely write a review and when I do it is always a positive one. Today I came across a professional that provided me with the worst experience of dealing with a medical professional. I was drawn to the consultation via a radio ad that offered a complimentary consultation for laser "treatment that works". Well, after waiting for 23 minutes, I was ushered in a skimpy and dirty room with an unfriendly nurse, followed by a extremely unprofessional and rude man that he would not even was willing to tell us the explanation of the procedures upon our inquiry. When we demanded and explanation for his conduct he replied and I quote "this is a free consultation, what do you want from me". READER, you make your own decision. Office is bare and with used furnishings and it seemed that one is in a shady operation, which it was. The man was quick to quote prices of $3,500.00 per each laser treatment and said that it requires 5 to 6 treatments to tighten the skin half as it is presently on the face. I just had to chime in here as I stumbled upon these reviews! I went into their office almost 20 years ago and the waiting room seating configuration was in rows, just like the DMV --- Unlike the DMV, however, the protocol was get em' in and out as fast as you can... I was vulnerable at the time and just experienced the dissolution of an 8-year romantic relationship. I had stage performances to attend to and was slightly insecure about a facial blemish. In a nutshell, I paid $450 for a 2-second laser treatment that didn't do anything. I was informed that I could also do a Beta Lift-X treatment for $400.00. I told the office that I'd think about it and get back. Fortunately and thankfully, during my research, I found the best dermatologist ever, Alan Mantell, M.D. in Glendale, CA. Went to the Covina office about 6 yrs ago. Paid $6,000 for acne scar removal from my face. The treatment did nothing n the Dr. Does not even talk to you directly. The Dr is in the room for about 30 seconds. He walks in, reviews the chart, talks to the nurse and walks out. Does not even talk to you. He talks to the nurse who then turns around and tells you what he just said. It's weird. I was thinking to myself, i just paid you $6,000. I think i should get more than 30 sec of Your time. Your questions are directed to the nurse. This office is a scam! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! They should get reported to Ch4 news as a scam. I came in for a free consultation for my wrist tattoo I was trying to remove. I had been looking around at various tattoo removal options and searched the internet for hours to find the right place for me and settled on a place in Irvine named Laser and Dermatology Institute. Let me start by saying that absolutely love this place! The staff is super friendly and they make you feel welcomed. Dr. Rispler is one of the best dermatologist I've ever met he listens and is very kind to you. My experience with this office has been nothing but pleasant. =) My tattoo is relatively small.
