It's not often that a rest stop feels this thoughtful and well-maintained. The entire space felt welcoming and peaceful. It's perfect for a quick break or even a longer pause to stretch and reset. One of my favorite parts was the big I NY sign outside. It makes for such a fun photo! And inside, the photo opportunity kiosk was such a creative touch. You can snap a picture and send it to yourself right from there. If you're passing through, definitely take a few extra minutes to stop here. It's clear a lot of care went into making this a place people can actually enjoy.

It's hard to imagine that people once attempted to go over the Falls in a barrel, or so the stories say! The Maid of the Mist takes you right to the base of the Falls and it is AWESOME... and WET! Don't let those little ponchos fool you. You are going to get soaked, and the roar of the water is incredible. The Visitor Center inside the park isn't nearly as impressive as the Discovery Center Welcome Center, but it offers clean restrooms, a refreshment stand, and an information desk. There are also plenty of fantastic photo opportunities throughout the park and along the viewing areas. The nightly fireworks display is spectacular, though it does get crowded. For wheelchair users, there is a fabulous, spacious ramp that provides easy access down to the viewing level. There's a tourist info desk to get maps, brochures on attractions, get directions. Petro Canada gas station also on site if you need to fill up. This is probably the best rest stop when entering Niagara region.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about Niagara Falls and the surrounding community. A benefit to you as a traveller are free (...just ask...) coupons that can save you money on purchases at local businesses and entertainment. Heck, our Government of Ontario operates these travel centres and they want people to spend tourism dollars in this province. If there's one thing I remember well from my Grade 9 Economics course, it was the Multiplier Effect! Travel safely and spend.

I probably spent 30 minutes looking through the brochures here. They also have a bulletin board with events in the area but unfortunately it doesn't look like it gets updated . The majority of the flyers were from July and it is now October . It would have been nice to see current events and things happening in the area . They have vending machines and they even have a microwave for people to use, which is unique and very thoughtful. There is a button you can push inside if you need the police, so that helps with a feeling of safety and I did see a red and white sheriff's vehicle parked there with two deputies inside on my visit. There are lots of tables outside with chairs and a grassy area where you can take your pets. Plus the view of the water is very beautiful, especially right now with all the fall foliage.
