Our tour guide Ellen did an excellent job of narrating this 1.5 hour trip down the Buffalo River. She spoke for nearly the whole time and wove together many different facets of industry, history, and local lore. Summer weekends look to be quite popular for this tour so I suggest getting a reservation on-line - their website and the process is very easy to use. Definitely a must do when in Buffalo!

Unless you'd rather pay more to park in cramped lots near Canalside. Actually, maybe I should keep this to myself...but if you're here, you're already on track to figuring it out for yourself. It's $1 per person. I think there's about a twenty minute wait. The ride itself is short, but a short scenic ride for less than the cost of parking is more than worth the $1 (or $2 per person round trip). The staff is friendly and helpful, especially compared to some of the nastier lot attendants we've encountered. It's just a win all around. Plus you get to experience the best of both worlds: a more quiet park with natural beauty on one side, the restaurants and amenities on the other.

Both times we had Captain Dave, a tall gentleman with salt and pepper hair. He spoke rudely to a handful of customers and both of his bartenders. The first time we assumed he was having an off day, but seeing this attitude a second time on a different boat was shocking and disappointing. Perhaps the customers and bartenders were rude to him first, but regardless, it was inappropriate for others to witness. He also mentions at the start of the ride that there is no vaping onboard, which we found to be more than reasonable. However, my wife and I saw HIM vaping while driving the boat?! Additionally, we felt as if the drinks were overtly overpriced -- 2 oz well liquor for $12 is insane! No bar I have been to in the Buffalo area charges that much for a well cocktail. However, we did feel as if the price of the tour itself was reasonable. The music was also not to our liking, but we understand it is challenging to accommodate everyone. But, it would have been nice to suggest a song or two. Unfortunately, a few of our friends have has similar experiences.... We wished we had a better experience, but as it stands now, we will not return nor recommend this place to others.

I really think they should rent out the interior space - every time I'm in there I think "this would make an awesome place to have a cocktail party at" --- reminds me of a less-fancy Rich's Atrium. they do have a very small conference room available to rent out -- it only holds like a single long conference table, though. For eight bucks you can ride all day between the marina and Riverfest Park. While the ferry makes multiple stops for patrons to exit, you can also just ride the ferry for a relaxing waterfront tour. The staff doesn't narrate the journey like the Miss Buffalo but they were very knowledgeable about the area. The boat probably holds about 15 max and we were easily able to board with no wait on a Wednesday afternoon in August. The only thing thst would make this better is if they extended their hours past 8 pm. A great addition to Buffalo's waterfront!

What a great time on the Sunday in the Cemetery Trolley tour a week ago. Plan ahead as the tours…read moresell out quickly. The group parks and meets inside the Wendt center right on Main Street. After a brief rundown on what's going to happen, we boarded the trolley. It's worth mentioning that Wendt center is gorgeous and holds lots of information on Forest Lawn. The trolley was spacious, comfortable and since it's covered, operates in the rain as well. Our guide was excellent! He seemed to know everything about the cemetery and enjoyed questions. As we drove, costumed people emerged and would get on board. Their stories were so interesting and amusing. Forest Lawn is big! Every tour is a little different. The environmental conditions were explained too. I never realized how much is going on in there. I was surprised to see large monuments still under construction. It doesn't matter how you feel about cemeteries, it is so much more than that. They have general tours as well as "gangster" and walking tours. Definitely something here for everyone.

Its always amazing the improvements Universities and Colleges make, years after your graduate for…read morethem. My friend and I recently visited Buffalo State, ( When we attended, both fellow Alumni Class of 2005) it was Buffalo State College. Fast forward , now its Buffalo State University; after receiving an email back late January, there was a happy hour coming up at the school we both decided to check it out. Vibrant building, friendly staff, felt a little older, then most of the attendees at the event, but that was alright. The speakers were more geared toward recent college graduates, or soon to be college graduate. Overall, nice mingling event, and opportunity to check out the campus updates, taco bar, and drink selection as well. This center isn't new, and opened back in 2018. My suggestion is your alumni of Buffalo State, and haven't visit campus in quite awhile, you'll be astounded by their improvements and updates. As a commuter, used to hang out in the Fireside Lounge, in the union during Bengal pause, on the aweful green coaches, now theres a beautiful fire place, equipped with comfortable sitting areas.
