Q: Why don't dumplings ever share secrets? A: Because they're afraid of spilling the fillings! I have been told by multiple people on Oahu, people I trust, that Oahu Chinese food just ain't it. So what do I do on my first morning on Oahu? I ask a friend to join me for dim sum. And you know what? No regrets. Because what can I say? I'm ABC and it's the weekend! We stopped by the massive Ala Moana Center, the world's largest open-air shopping center, and strolled into Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant for dim sum. We got the "test sheet" for ordering and we ordered, arguably, way too much and we finished every bite. I enjoyed myself! There were some really tasty bites and I had no complaints. I went in with the lowest of expectations and I'm pleasantly surprised. It was a great meal.

The last 2 times we have been here- we had -Pei- as our server. Very friendly and helpful with their menu. So many choices. This time we had the roast duck, salt & pepper shrimp, ham har chicken wings, crispy noodles with a mix of seafood and meats and the Wagyu black pepper short ribs Casual dining- round and square tables. The location, private dining.- or for big parties

Met up with some friends for Dim Sum at Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant. If you don't have a reservation, best practice is to be in line before they open at 10:30am. We ordered a bunch of our favorites. Everything was prepared fresh and served hot. Some of the dishes were devoured before I could get a picture. Lol . Like the Look Fun with Shrimp and the Black Bean Chicken Feet. The Snow Mountain Buns and the Shrimp Dumplings were the dishes that stood out. The buns were light and airy but yet crispy and savory inside. Their Signature Shrimp Dumplings were filled with delectable shrimps wrapped in a thin wrapper simply delicious . Huge dining room with a full service bar. Highly recommended for not only Dim Sum but exceptional Chinese cuisine

Jade has always been the place where my boyfriend and I would go to eat dim sum. We went early on Sunday for lunch with his younger brother and got there around 10:15am. There was a huge line out the door for people who had no reservations. We waited in that line and was sat around 10:45am, which is great considering they open and 10:30am and that we didn't have a res. Dim sum there is always fire, but we also decided to try something new and ordered the salt and pepper lobster. They mentioned that the lobster was $40/lb, but my boyfriend wanted to ball out and said okay. They showed us the lobster before they cooked it to see if it was okay for our liking. It was delicious! Idk about $40/lb delicious, but a great experience and great flavor. Safe to say, we will be back! follow my foodie adventures on ig: smolgirlfatass

Jade Dynasty is a dim sum restaurant conveniently located on the 4th floor level of Ala Moana. They serve dim sum daily until 5pm which is a lot later than most restaurants because typically these dishes are considered brunch/lunch. I do like their dim sum dishes as they don't seem as oily. However, Jade tends to be more expensive than Chinatown options due to their location in the shopping center. Despite this, I absolutely love their snowy mountain char siu bun. 10/10 and a must order since not all places carry this item. Jade Dynasty continues to provide delicious dim sum in Ala Moana Center. Highly recommend if you want Chinese food!

So fricken ono, wife and mother in law went to lunch and because I was working I was lucky enough to get lunch "leftovers"! Everything is always so Ono! True story tho my brother and I ate at jade dynasty when it was in the Hyatt and before yelp existed...lmao

Food here is always good. My bad review is about the service. First we are regular customers. Even the waiter was asking why we were here so often. Waiter was fine. We have a family dinner celebrating my late mom's birthday. When we arrived, the hostess put us in a private room. Very cool, even if the room was the one they serve all the tea out of. Restaurant was not too crowded and the parties were on the other side. My sister had a pre-planned menu. So far so good right. Then we were told the room had a minimum order amount of $400. We thought the planned menu was going to be under that. Over $300 but maybe under $400. So the manager put us across the restaurant on a smaller table that will technically fit the ten of us. But pretty tight. And right in front of the bathroom. Good service, to me, would be to say, "Don't worry about the minimum tonight and enjoy the room." We did not ask for it, but were seated in it by the hostess. Wait staff was great. Management, maybe not so much.

We always get a few boxes of goodies from Big Island Candies at Ala Moana to bring home. May as well have a late lunch(1:30pm) so no line ups! My fav dim sum is the fried chives/shrimp dumpling but sold out at this hour...sad. We tried the steamed ones instead 'twas okay, also had the fried tofu with fish paste filling--solid. Hubs ordered 1/4 roast duck and Crispy noodles with sliced meat since he doesn't know how to appreciate dim sum. A relaxing lunch, good efficient service and friendly waiters.

Waited ~15 mins for lunch on a Friday. Service is efficient & responsive. There are no dim sum carts because the tables are pretty close together. $6.25 Har gow / Signature shrimp dumplings: 2* Pass because lacked flavor despite the shrimp. Sad because always order at dim sum. $6.45 XLB / Steamed Shanghai buns: 2* Pass. Among the worst I've ever tasted. Wrapper too thick, pork lacked flavor & scant soup inside. $6.75 Snow mountain Char Siu Bun: 3* Basically a baked manapua with sweet crumbly topping. It was good to try but not compelled to reorder. $6.25 Shrimp & Chive Dumplings: 5* Very yummy! The best item we ordered. $7.85 BBQ Pork Look Fun Roll: 4* Delicious! $11.25 Choy Sum w/Oyster Sauce: 3* Ordered to have veggies. Good although nothing special. $14.25 1/4 Roasted Duck: 4* Good. Not salty or rubber like at some places. $4.95 Mango pudding: 3* They forgot it & originally wanted it removed from the check yet allowed them to pack it to go. It was ok, no chunks of mango in it like some places.

Classic dim sum offerings on the 4th floor of Ala Moana. Would def rec the egg custard bun and the chicken feet!

Majestic, frontal view of the restaurant.

Edit. This popular eatery is so unpredictable because sometimes their dishes would be superb and other times, sucked, big time. This time it was great. My only gripes was lack of attention from the waiters/waitresses when seated on the back elevated area. I hope they will strive for "consistency" in all their dishes.

Though website says reservations taken, personnel says they don't take reservations for a Monday at 2 PM for 16 ppl; only at 1 PM. Wondering how busy this place gets on Mondays. Wanted to book ahead after a service so maybe not a good idea?

We ordered 4 different dishes and none of them had msg (I'm allergic so I'd be able to tell). We also asked the waitstaff to advise us if any of our ordered dishes had msg as an ingredient.

I don't know if you need reservations but I just arrived with my wife and were seated for lunch (dim sum), immediately.

They ask people limit their time to 90 min during busy times, we ended up staying until closure. We ordered a nice variety of items: beef spicy fried rice, shrimp wonton soup, broccoli with oyster sauce, and chicken curry. We loved everything, different backgrounds of the dishes led for a fun combination. The big draw seemed to be the various crab dishes, as well as the sizzling steak. I'd definitely like to try those on a return visit. It's BYOB for alcohol. We tired a lemon iced tea, and a lemon fruit drink and enjoyed both with the spicy and salty foods. Our servers were so friendly and fast to attend. Prices are reasonable for large portions and great quality. I'll definitely be back!
