Came back bc we all really loved the last meal. We couldn't get the juk bc it was too late. Really enjoy the food, cleanliness and staff is always great. Lots of water refills and they check on you. Love it!

Walking around Chinatown, I decided to go and check it out. They serve, authentic Cantonese food, friendly service, and reasonable price. The place is bright and clean.

We have wanted to try this place for so long but the hours and potential lines were a factor in holding us back. But finally we were able to try this place on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm after the lunch crush. From the outside it's hard to miss as it blends in with the older buildings. But...the interior is something else. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super clean, bright, inviting and bustling with activity.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We waited only a few minutes before being seated. We were given a menu and ordered quickly. We ordered beef chow fun and the stewed meat dish. The food came out hot and quickly. The first bite proved the hype is to be believed. Soup dish had lotsa of meat and noodles. Soup was flavorful and very thinner but great with the meat and noodles. The beef chow fun...definitely had the essence of the wok. Absolutely worth coming. Prices are higher but cost is going up every where. Will return to try more dishes. Wish they would stay open later with a late dinner menu.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very busy, casual atmosphere like your typical Chinese place that turns over customers quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, their wait staff are quite friendly and although busy, they work really hard to provide great service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tables and benches are very basic and not cushioned, which makes for quick customer turnover.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We hardly waited 2 minutes before they called us; even though there was a queue the entire time we were there it seems they go really quickly. Focus is on noodles (recommended) or rice dishes. We had beef chow fun (thick noodles) and a rice-noodle soup with pork and picked cabbage. Both dishes were very good. The chow fun was smoky, as if cooked on high heat, and the rice noodles were nicely spiced. The rice noodles came in a delicious broth. Parking is tough in Chinatown but there are several pay lots around. Be careful because the private pay lots can get expensive. There's also two municipal pay lots, each about 2 blocks away.

Couldn't wait to get back to Lam's kitchen after 3 long months away. No matter where you may go you won't find a perfect simple bowl of one ton mein on the planet! Their beef tendon on rice noodles or egg noodles or rice is excellent! Always tender and perfectly flavored! Got a beef and green beans over rice as a take out and that was great too! Went after the lunch rush as located in the heart of Chinatown and only street parking! Got parking near the restaurant and not too busy so got seated immediately- got water served and they took our order! These guys know how to run a restaurant! You can always count on Lam's for a great meal !

Great find by the husband. He wanted rice soup, congee, jook to settle his stomach, and something not greasy and oily. The rice soup is a big bowl, a hearty portion. The pork liver with chives was extremely tender and very tasty. I want to come back to try other items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, inside is nice and clean, spacious, and air conditioned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We went really early so we could find parking and get into Lam's easily. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots if tables good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bathrooms nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Today's braised duck was a bit salty though. It took me a while to realize that they don't bring the bill to the table. When you are done go to the cashier to pay.

I'm so happy that they renovated and now there's tons of space to sit. This place is HOPPIN' on weekends. We've been here like 3-4x since their reopening and everything's been fantastic, service is super quick and nice, love the big mugs of hot tea, and we rarely wait more than 15 minutes for a table (they get 'em out quick!). We've had: Chow fun beef Beef tendon on rice - You gotta get this, just get this! Lams specializes in look fun noodles as well as egg noodle dishes, theyre known for their slow braised beef with tendon and it is fall apart tender. The noodles seem to be homemade and go perfectly with their homemade broth. The flavors are simple and homey and I always leave satisfied. But I always manage to grab some roast pork from the shop across the street. They usually get real busy around lunch time and usually always oh the weekends, but service is usually fast and you get your food quick to keep business moving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They just moved into a newly renovated spot so the there's much more space than their previous location, you jus feel like your in an authentic noodles house to say the least.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you have some time and are in the area stop on by.

Food: quite on the cheaper side for Chinese food in town. one of the best dishes here is their look fun roll aka cheung fun! It is warm and soft and goes so well with hoisin sauce and peanut butter sauce! I also like to add a little of their homemade chili oil to add a slight kick. But today we ordered beef chow fun, boiled pork liver, and Chinese donut stick. The beef chow fun was okay, could use a bit more wokhay and flavor. I enjoyed boiled pork liver a lot since it was very soft and not chewy at all. There was a generous amount of green onions! Can't go wrong with the donut, but we have a feeling that it's not made from scratch and it's probably frozen. Service: it was alright, they're always busy so the staff are doing the best they can to serve you. We went on a weekend and we had waitlist for a bit despite the expanded renovated place. Atmosphere: it is a lot more spacious than their original size. Feels more clean and the bathroom is not too dirty.

If you order takeout, is it standard practice for them to separate the hot soup from the noodles?

    Yes, they do.

Is this business open for takeout/curbside pick up during the Covid-19 lockdown?

    Unfortunately no :(

    Msg do they use it?

I wish I could help you with a definitive answer, but if this helps, my husband has a severe reaction to msg. His face gets super flushed and he’ll sweat up a storm. On every occasion at lam’s NO flushed feeling or sweating. I’d ask the servers.…

    Where do you park?

Park on the street or in a paid parking lot in the area.

    Do they use MSG?

Yes, all restaurant do. You should rephrase your question added msg. Even chicken broth at American grocery stores have msg.

This was perfect timing for us. However once seated, we had to ask for water 4 times, sauces twice, and waited a 10-15 minutes for someone to stop by and take our order. When someone did come to get our order they told us it was the only time we could order dim sum. This struck us as odd. We had mentioned that the hose explained it would be 1-1/2 hours until last call. They mumbled something at us out of what we felt was annoyance then stuck to this order being our last call for dim sum. We proceeded to order our entire meal quickly since we often eat at Chinese restaurants and generally know what we felt like eating for us and our kids. Around 3:30 (10 min or so after we ordered ) the server came back and told us they are out of 1/3 of what we ordered which included picking duck and look fun. Again very odd on a Sunday afternoon. So we kept what they did have available and continued to wait. At this point still waiting for our waters. As the sitting went on we observed a table who sat after us get their waters food and everything they asked for quickly. We waited almost 20 minutes for water and rice that we had to ask for multiple times. The rice still wasn't brought out until almost 30 minutes in, which was after 3 items from our order was brought out at very slow rates compared to other tables who we overheard ordering. We also needed to cancel our crispy noodles that we ordered for the kids as it was going on 45min and the last thing left on our order although it was the first item on our receipt and the first item requested. Overall the flavor of the food was good and the only reason I gave stars, however my family and I felt borderline discriminated against and service was very bad. I do not recommend this place for anything other than takeout.
