Rear Parking Lot (Entrance and Outdoor Seating)

A new Asian fusion restaurant that just opened up today in a Port Washington plaza and replaced Mesita which I went to try out as it recently opened last year. Crazy how both restaurants are a chain and I've never been to the other locations due to convenience. I saw a grand opening promotion on Instagram about free dessert for the first 50 customers and decided to give it a try. Another selling factor for me was the big Buddha statue with the koi fish pond. Much to my surprise, the layout of the whole restaurant was exactly the same as Mesita and the Buddha/koi fish pond was in the back corner of the restaurant rather than the middle like the Forest Hills and Hicksville locations. The plaza has metered street parking as well as a parking lot in the back. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. Upon seating, each person was given a tablet with the menu. The menu seems to be about the same as their other locations along with their $18 lunch specials that include a soup, appetizer, entree, and a dessert. Honestly, it is a great deal but I was more interested in trying different appetizers. In fact, most of the dishes in the lunch special have a surcharge depending on what meat/dish you pick. The Happy Hour is a great deal for me to try just the appetizers for half the cost and portion, but unfortunately it only works if you sit at the bar! Since I was already seated, I just decided to stay at my table and order four appetizers: kai chi, fried calamari, rock shrimp, and sushi pizza. For drinks, I got the Thai iced tea and the Jade's Pink Dream. The Thai iced tea was average a bit more milky than I like and not enough tea flavor. The Jade's Pink Dream has a cool display with the gas under the glass, but it was a bit strong and tasted like cough syrup to me. As for the appetizers, we were informed last minute that they did not have fried calamari. The sushi pizza was good with the spicy tuna on top and I was glad it did not come with a hard crust. The rock shrimp was average but I felt the batter was thicker than I like or it did not stick to the shrimp as well as I like. As far as the spicy mayo sauce on it, only the top few had enough sauce and everything on the bottom did not. The kai chi was my favorite as the chicken has a perfect tenderness to it and the sauce on top was garlicy and delicious! For the grand opening promotion, I got a goodie bag with a pen, match box, wooden keychain with a QR code of their menu, and a flyer with a 15% off coupon. In addition, I got a free slice of cake. We each got to choose from cheese cake or chocolate fudge and we saw they were both precut and pre bought cakes that came in a box. The chocolate fudge cake was very sweet and bitter at the same time. The cake was also a bit hard so it may not have been fresh. The cheesecake on the other hand, was much softer. It was an average cheesecake. Aside from these cakes part of the grand opening promotion, they also had other desserts that are more my style such as Ice-Cream and fried banana! Overall, it was a nice experience and I would recommend coming for the lunch specials or happy hour at the bar. They also give a cash discount!

Goodie Bag for Grand Opening

I came to eat here during their grand opening at noon on a Wednesday and they gave out a goodie bag and free dessert. I have never been to their other locations, so I had no idea what to expect. The menu is on a tablet which can be overwhelming at first but easy to get use to. It had a great ambiance with colorful lights and signs everywhere to set a cheerful atmosphere. There is a also a rectangle Koi pond in the back with a Buddha statue, which I believe is in all their other locations. The service was great, aside from the fact that they were really trying to sell their lunch specials which is honestly a good deal but we weren't interested in the entrees, and the servers and manager kept checking in on us to make sure we had a great experience. The food was good as well. For the drinks we ordered the Jade's Pink Dream and Thai Iced Tea. Jade's Pink Dream was a little bitter and there seemed to be a lot of clashing flavors, but overall wasn't bad. They showcased it in a glass case with smoke before serving it to us which was pretty cool. The Thai Iced Tea was milky but not creamy and didn't have enough tea flavor, but I still enjoyed it. We decided to order some appetizers to try. We ordered the Sushi Pizza, Rock shrimp, Kai Chi, and Calamari - but they told us last minute that didn't have Calamari which was a blessing because me and my girlfriend were really full from the other three appetizers. The Sushi Pizza was creamy but the spicy tuna wasn't spicy at all and didn't have the kick that pushes you to eat more. I found myself needing to use the soy sauce to give it adequate flavor. The Rock shrimp was good but I feel like it didn't have enough sauce. I probably should have mixed it to distribute the sauce evenly. The Kai Chi was the best of the bunch, with the scallions and garlic really punching through. It was very flavorful and the meat comes right off the bone, very satisfying to eat. I really recommend this dish. As for the complimentary dessert, the chocolate cake was heavy and sweet and the cheesecake was light but didn't have enough cheese flavor in my opinion. I also saw that it was served from a package but I understand a lot of restaurants outsource their desserts. Overall, for being their first day opened, I think they did a great job. The atmosphere is great and some dishes and beverages might need some slight tweaking to reach perfection, but I had a good time eating here.

Excellent! We came for the lunch special and it did not disappoint. Service, atmosphere, food was all top notch. We meet the manager Chris, exceptional nice guy. Definitely we'll be back.

The food at Jade.Too hot and spicy especially the sauces!

Fine place for big happy hour drinks and apps. But overall food quality just ok. It's a huge menu and I guess the place is a chain.

We had kitchen entrees. Stopped by here after visiting sands point preserve hoping for good meal Atmosphere is very austere. Feels like corporate cafeteria rather than a restaurant. Service was on par with casual Chinese takeout. Waitstaff seemed annoyed we were there. They cleaned the table while we were still sitting Kitchen entrees were huge but just ok food wise. Chicken was very dry and rice bland To be fair, we didn't get sushi but prices for sushi here were crazy. Same platter or chirashi I can get in manhattan for $18-20 was $45 here. Rolls and appetizers were north of $20. That is nonsensical So final review: Ambiance -2-3 Service -1 Food 2

Really sleek, darkly lit and feeling like it's a place for a date night. But they had a lot of families with small kids in the restaurant as well. There's plenty of seating! I thought it was so nice of them to start us off with a bowl of warm edamame as we perused through the menu. Menu is not super extensive but it was a little difficult to read through. Large list of drinks compared to the food. It was also a little bit hectic hailing down the waitstaff for help, but it was a very busy weekend night. I ordered a couple of rolls. The East House roll was very nice, though I didn't expect from the description that the roll would not be wrapped in nori but in that clear-ish yubu skin situation. I wasn't mad about it, the presentation was beautiful. All of the fish felt very clean and not too strong or fishy tasting. I also had a spicy tuna roll which was good but not really spicy or tuna-y enough for my preferences. The sushi rice layers were nicely thin so that I didn't feel overstuffed with rice afterwards. Someone from my table ordered the hot udon as it was a cold and drizzly day outside. They felt the flavor was bland. It looked fairly bland and disappointing. Miso soup was also bland, though it was generously portioned. The shrimp teriyaki was overcooked. I do think this is a nice elevated environment, and as long as you're getting something from the sushi bar. It's a bit pricey, but you're getting pretty decent quality fish.

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

This is a fabulous old school Italian restaurant, with absolutely delicious fare. This evening was…read moreour first time dining at this establishment, and fortunately I made a 5:30 PM reservation. When we arrived the restaurant was only partially filled. Fortunately, we did arrive early, since over the next hour the restaurant filled up, with quite a few people waiting for a table. The restaurant is unpretentious, with seating fairly close together. Now for the food. Before ordering, the owner stopped by, and told us some of the restaurants history, and him being the longtime owner of over 4 decades. He then recited the evenings specials along with interjecting a couple of very funny stories. Each special sounded incredible, and we began our meal with a couple of glasses of a tasty Montepulciano. We shared, one the evening's special appetizers of luscious & creamy zucchini flowers. For entrees my wife ordered one the specials of shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat, in a lobster sauce. She couldn't stop talking about how fantastic it tasted. My only comment was although outstanding, the portion size consisted of 4 shrimp, which was more than enough for my wife, but someone with a bigger appetite may find the order a bit skimpy. For my entree I was drawn to something, which I rarely see on a menu, chicken livers. Although, I thought, for sure, that was what I would choose, the owner in going over the specials cited some of the best menu items, one of which was lasagna. I then told the owner about my dilemma, and I asked him to choose, and the lasagna won out. Although, I missed not having the chicken livers, I consider myself a lasagna aficionado, and, without question, this lasagna moved up to near the top of the list. We ended the meal by having a homemade chocolate layer cake, which was divine. I apologize for not taking any pictures, but I was so excited about the food that my taste buds overrode any thoughts of snapping photos. Finally, definitely run to this restaurant ASAP, but, if possible, I recommend, if possible, to go during the week to avoid the crowds of an obviously very popular restaurant.
