The menu was large but vegetarian options minimal. I ordered the Chow Fun without Oyster sauce or chicken broth. My husband had the orange chicken. Was breaded and dark meat with more breading than he'd hoped. My noodles were a bit bland, though I appreciate them accommodating! Both were B+ for us in flavor. We were seated in the quiet upper level. Service was very friendly and attentive. The only bad thing about that room is that they bring all of the plates with leftovers there to package up and if you are sitting on the bench you are seeing that going on all night long... We tried some new dishes and were pleased. Wonton soup had a delicious clear chicken broth, rings of carrots, snow peas and two large wontons. For me the wonton skins were too thick and not cooked enough. They were too big to eat in one bite and hard to cut through with the Chinese soup spoon. Am accustomed to smaller wontons with really thin skins so these were not as good. They are now serving fried wonton skins with two dipping sauces at every table. That was a nice touch. Was in the mood for egg foo yung so ordered that with shrimp. They were really delicious. Three large patties with really big shrimp in them. The sauce was much lighter in color than usual and tasted really good rich in flavor. We also had a hot and sour soup and it was very good, not overly thickened and had the right flavor notes. We will be back as I am looking forward to trying their General Tso's chicken. read more

Stopped here on our way back from Sedona to Rio Verde, this spot gets very busy! We ordered it took about 25 minutes to get ready. The restaurant is beautiful and very spacious we took our food to go. Once we arrived home food was still hot and everything was very good. Our least favorite item was the New York egg roll as a group we agreed we preferred a more traditional egg roll this one has shrimp inside. Dumplings were very flavorful, chicken seemed fresh no chewy pieces or questionable bites. We would absolutely visit again! read more

I was here a few years ago with family and wasn't feeling well so all I could do was watch as they raved about the food and I remember it looking the part too !! A few weeks back I got my redemption song and it was a stellar experience. Shrimp Chow Fun , chicken Fried rice , beef and Broccoli were unbelievably tasty and fresh. A nice light sauce versus the neon red east coast takeout syrup made the sweet n sour chicken stand out from the other entrees. Great team play allowed the food and drink to come out fast. Firstly the crab puffs are actually full of crab love that! The New York egg roll w all the meats in it phenomenal! My entrees not even out yet and I'm thinking American Chinese this might be the best I've had in the country! So my entrees were amazing as well pictured the spicy yellow sauce caught me off guard but I loved it after I rubbed it around my tongue I should have asked the name of it so interesting the sweet and sours classic but the duck sauce was better than most places! One of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. If you haven't gone yet, go NOW! The lettuce wraps are so refreshing and filling and the crab puffs are incredible. Food here is always yummy and tasty but I recently was disappointed with the takeout service and would like to share my experience. I like the Healthy Chicken and the fried wonton chips but for some reason, the sauces that accompany these were missing. I always do takeout and assume that everything is in the package as they staple the bag when you pick up the food. Spoke with the manager on duty and he told me I have partial credit next time I order a takeout. This is not acceptable as the Healthy Chicken is best with the sauce. I feel that he should have offered to comp the whole dish for next time? Or offered someone to deliver the sauce? How should he have remedied the situation? I am so beyond disappointed in this food & the amount of money I spent on it. Let me get to the good first. The smells wafting out were amazing & truly what pulled me in. Front of the house staff were friendly & greeted everyone coming in & leaving. I came in & placed an order to go & received it very quickly. While I waited, I could hear the male & female gossiping a little bit. I forget what about now because it's truly irrelevant. What is relevant is I could tell they were young but youth only excuses so much. Gossiping at the front of the house is not one of the things, in my opinion, that youth excuses. It's simply unprofessional. I ordered crispy orange beef. The beef was spongy tasting & in texture. That was really distracting from the overall poor flavor of the dish. I'm baffled at the spongy texture because this is supposed to be flank steak. I've never had spongy flank steak in my life. It wasn't crispy and I can't even say it's simply because I ordered the food to go. I don't live that far & the food was all still hot when I started eating. The grand marnier shrimp was simply another version of Honey Walnut Shrimp but the grand marnier could not be tasted. The walnuts were very candied but not in good flavor. The shrimp itself was decent. I know this is a very American dish but broccoli doesn't need to go with everything. The last ordered dish were the 3 spare ribs. The "glaze" tastes cola based & the meat itself overall was not good. It wasn't spoiled or anything but simply did not taste good & was not flavorful at all. I really wanted to like this place but instead am disappointed & very unhappy that I spent over $60 on this. It's not the worst I've had but it's close up there. Food quality was standard was tasty but when they automatically charged us gratuity just for 4 people to split the check, that caught us by surprise and that fine print was not seen anywhere or communicated to us prior. That really ruined the overall experience. The Moo goo pan Chicken and Walnut Shrimp were cooked to perfection. The Chicken fried rice with no egg was also excellent. The egg plant was good too. Both the lemon cheesecake and gluten free chocolate dessert fell short and didn't do much to end the meal. The chocolate cake was too thick and hard. Decent Chinese food but overpriced for sure. Just like most reviews here, it's quite overpriced for the food. We came 2 days ago and ordered BBQ ribs, Shrimp with lobster sauce and dry string beans with steak. Most dishes were good, but nothing special. String beans were on the salty side. However the most disappointing one is the steamed rice. It was waaay undercooked. We appreciated the intimate setting. Almost cozy. The minute we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The service was friendly and efficient. Sitting area, we had a booth was clean and comfortable. Food was prepared perfectly and was amazing. Restrooms were spotless. And the cost, very affordable for what we got. Greasy, chimichanga sized disasters($6 for 1 egg-roll) stuffed with 1lb of cabbage 3 dried shrimp and some desiccated beef powder. Also ordered a quart of wonton soup with extra shrimp. There were 2 wontons and 1 shrimp in the soup and it tasted at least a couple days old(the wontons were completely mushed up in the broth and the veggies dissolved). Service was mediocre. This used to be the best Chinese food restaurant in Arizona. We moved here from the east coast in 1995 and lived close to Jade Palace. This place has always been the only Chinese food place we would eat at. Coming from NY we have high expectation on this type of cuisine. They were the only place that had egg rolls like NY and their General Tsoa's Chicken was delicious. Everything we ordered here was always a 10/10. My wife and I just had some take out, we ordered Orange Chocken which she says has always tasted like just places in NY and I ordered two egg rolls and Wor Won Ton soup. I couldn't wait to get home so I started eating f one of the egg rolls in the car and man it tasted very different than usual. We haven't eaten here in a year so I was really looking forward to the egg rolls because they were my favorite. I told her I think the chef is different. When we go home we opened the Orange Chicken and noticed it looks very different than usual, it was red which is not normal for Jade Palace. Then she ate it and she said wow, it doesn't even taster like Orange chicken. Not just Orange Chicken from Jade Palace by from any restaurant. Then I tasted it and just needed eating one piece. It was horrible. I haven't tried the Wor Won Ton Soup yet. We are so bummed out because there is no other restraint we lived as much as Jade Palace for Chinese Food. Plus it cost almost $55 for 2 egg rolls, 1 soup and 1 orange chicken which is expensive but worth it if it tasted like usual. We never mind paying the higher price at Jade Garden because the food was amazing. I guess nothing lasts forever. It's sad. We ended up throwing the chicken and the second egg rolls out. I didn't give this a 1 star because honestly, we have tasted worse Chinese food. I want to try the one on Pinnacle Peak next although we have always gone to the Shea location. We are praying the food is better there. Update: I can't comment on the Wor Won Soup which I was really looking forward to because it is awesome here. As it turned out they gave us regular Won Ton Soup and not Wor Won Ton. We should have double checked the order because when I ordered it on the phone the young lady at the restaurant repeated back Won Ton Souo ? And I said no, Wor Won Ton Soup and she said okay. Sorry for the long review but I am really upset that this place went downhill in addition to to wasting $55 on this food. read more

Had this place on my list for quite some time, finally happen to be in the area and gave them a try! I ordered the Eggroll, which was $6 a piece, and I absolutely loved them. Next we ordered the crab won tons, which were $10 for 4, those were good too but overpriced for 4, then we ordered the main dishes, vegitable fried rice, beef lo mein, and the spicy sechwan chicken. All three were pretty decent. I think that the best thing we ate was the Eggroll. Nice place inside too. It was clean and quiet. The staff (AL OF THE STAFF) were AMAZING AND NICE.
