Very impressed with this place. I have been here several times and always receive very friendly, prompt service with excellent food. A small restaurant in a strip mall but you walk into the place and feel comfortable and welcomed. I have had several different dishes with consistent good quality and taste. It's a nicely decorated and inviting place and we commented that we would have enjoyed dining in because of the aesthetic vibes. We were in a hurry so just ordered a House Lo Mein to go. Small dining room, nice and clean. Compact menu compared to most Chinese restaurants, but I'd rather they do a few things well (they do) than do lots of things poorly. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Our waitress must've spent 15 minutes talking to us! Portions are large and exceptionally well executed. I had the beef chow fun noodles and it was absolutely perfect - flavorful, tender beef, just enough sauce, and a good number of bean sprouts which really make the dish. Two of us had the house special kung pao which they both said was excellent. One had the orange chicken which looked beautiful. 3/4 of us had enough to take home for another meal. Stopped in here after seeing a movie tonight and was super impressed. The Mongolian beef had a really great sauce that was slightly sweet but also spicy. We have ordered multiple times here and the food is less than edible. The Orange Chicken has hardly any chicken and will break your teeth, as it is so overcooked. The teriyaki chicken is all dark, fatty chicken. They don't have basic offerings like green beans (what Chinese food doesn't have green beans??). The dumpling dough is so thick, there is no room for filling and the prices are crazy high. I am from San Francisco where i grew up on the best Chinese food this side of Beijing. It's not that difficult make good Chinese food. I am so disappointed in the Asian food here. Tottie's Asian Fusion is the best thing I've had so far but because of their high prices, I can only go occasionally. Went on Friday night to try out this place at the behest of a fellow yelper. I do not know her but she indicated that the food was very good and we should frequent such a good place for fear of it going out of business. She said that the staff previously worked for Jade Palace and that was enough for me. Jade Palace has great food and the only complaints I hear about it is pricing. Here's how it went. The place is not super attractive, very perfunctory but I'm not here to eat the decor. We ordered chicken egg rolls as appetizers and my companion didn't touch his because of the overwhelming grease. The egg roll had opened somewhat and the grease entered the filling making it worse. I dried mine up with a napkin as best as I could but the grease persisted. Not good. I wanted shrimp with lobster sauce and I downloaded the ingredients that Jade Palace puts in their sauce for this dish. It showed that they add minced pork to the sauce. I asked if they could duplicate the sauce by adding the minced pork. The server then asked me if I knew how to make it. I asked her, "are you asking me for the recipe" to which she replied yes. (If I had the recipe I would make it at home myself!). I told her that I did not have the recipe and she quickly said, we can't make it without the recipe. My god, just add minced pork to your existing sauce I thought to myself. At this point I asked her who on her staff worked for Jade Palace in the past so that perhaps they could make it. She said the owner was the former staffer and she was not there. Exhausted I said, just give me your version of shrimp in lobster sauce. My companion ordered the chicken with mixed vegetable (how adventurous) because he wanted to keep it simple. He was not getting a good vibe after the egg roll The chicken was average tasting, nothing you would call delicious. a 7 of out 10, maybe. The shrimp with lobster sauce came with 9 small/medium shrimp which is a fair amount. The sauce was not flavorful and intercepted with lots of peas and carrots. The lady server was dressed kind of slovenly with an outfit that I would use to do my laundry and not to greet customers. She may want to upgrade. So all in all my rush to patronize this restaurant so it doesn't go out of business was moot. They will do that all by themselves. read more

What a great little treat to find this place. The service was prompt and friendly. Place was clean and typical of a Chinese restaurant. We ordered the Cashew Chicken and the Beef and Broccoli. The only reason I am giving them a 4 star review instead of 5 was because the cashews were not cooked in the sauce. They were sprinkled in before the food was delivered. This might be my issue and not theirs but we felt like they should have been cooked in the sauce. The Beef and Broccoli was delicious. The meat was tender and broccoli was soft as I had requested. The lunch special plates are way more food than one person needs which is a good thing! The egg roll that came with it was delicious and large and hot and freshly cooked.
