Returned after awhile and got a very below average chicken and broccoli. The dish was drenched in a thick dark sauce which wilted all the broccoli. The white meat chicken wasn't top quality either.

I love this place. I wasn't feeling well today and their egg drop soup was a no brainer. Also decided to try the Chow House Fun with Beef, light sauce. I was craving drunken noodles and the manager recommended this option. A few bites hit the spot. Included onions, scallions and sprouts. Staff are always so kind and welcoming.

Normally their lunch sandwich special comes with fries but you can sub it out for the 3 main sides of the day. Options were corn, mashed potatoes, or broccolini. I was craving asparagus or broccolini so it was perfect for me. The greens were lightly charred but crunchy and soft at the same time. Lunch portions of the sandwich also weren't massive. The sandwich had a white fish breaded and fried. The patty was decent without being thick or oily. Good amount of tartar sauce spread on it as well. If the sandwich was any bigger then work afterwards wouldn't have been fun. Oh, also got a delicious dirty martini to pair with the food. Gin served down and it was made to perfection! Including the drink and an $8 tip the total for lunch was $48. Which isn't horrible. Been craving oysters recently so probably will be back for dinner and get an appetizer and dessert too. Good service, fresh seafood, and clean restaurant. I'll be back!

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

They were busy at around 10:15pm so we had to wait a bit for a table. We also had a large group of 8 but luckily we were able to get seated. Our server did an amazing job with our large group. Some in the group ordered pan roasts and some ordered crawfish etouffee. My friend also ordered clams. I always get the combo pan roast here. It's a mix of crawfish, shrimp and crab. Choose your spice level from 1-10. I forgot to specify a number and just said "hot" but it was not spicy enough for me. I normally get 7-8. I ended up adding in all the hot sauce options that were on the table plus some chili powder. Now that had a good kick to it. Ask for that! Price for the combo pan roast has doubled from before! It used to be $20, then it slowly increased to $30, and now it's $40! It's good, but I can also make it at home and get more for my money.

This place feels like someone at the casino ran out of ideas--and space--and decided, "Sure, let's…read morecram a seafood restaurant into this random corner and call it a day." The result is a space so small and awkward it borders on absurd: a few tightly packed tables, a tiny circular bar, and just enough room to guarantee a wait time that feels wildly out of proportion to what's actually being offered. It's wedged at the end of a hallway off the casino floor, with all the ambiance of a service passage. Calling it a restaurant is generous; it's more like a seafood-themed afterthought. Honestly, it would make far more sense as a grab-and-go sandwich counter or coffee stand. As it is, it comes across as the fast-food version of seafood--minus the speed, convenience, or value. I was there with my 21-year-old daughter and we sat at the bar, which turned out to be a mistake. Instead of even the bare minimum of professionalism, the staff treated the space like their personal break room. We were subjected to loud singing, nonstop chatter, and unfiltered complaints about coworkers and management--all happening just a couple of feet away while we were trying to eat. It wasn't just distracting; it was genuinely uncomfortable. There's something uniquely off-putting about paying for a meal while being forced to listen to an impromptu staff gripe session. With so many legitimately good restaurants nearby, there's absolutely no reason to waste time--or money--here. It's the kind of place that makes you immediately regret not going literally anywhere else. I would have happily waited to dine at Orange Sky, where the setting and service actually match expectations. In hindsight, skipping this entirely wouldn't have just been the better option--it would have been the obvious one.

We began the evening with a couple martini's and some mixed drinks (a white Negroni and a margarita). The presentation was flawless and they were delicious. We went to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and it did not disappoint. We started our meal with the jumbo shrimp cocktail for the table, then a shared Caesar salad and both were delicious. We each had New York strip steak and one was topped with truffle lobster. We also tried the salmon, French fries, and asparagus. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The restaurant gave my son his choice of dessert, which he chose the new Oreo gelato cake... which he loved. They also gave him a birthday card which was a nice touch and made for such a festive experience. Throughout the evening the service was impeccable. On the day of our anniversary, we booked La Zozzona after dining at Tiki Taka the night before (see other page for review). What We Ordered: - Beginning Toast: we tried a lovely brut to toast with, and greatly appreciate the sampling even if we both settled on ordering cocktails instead. - Bread Service (focaccia): we both loved the bread service, and I really enjoyed the rosemary on top. - Classic Negroni: my boyfriend said it was very good, and one of his favorites that he has had dining out with me. - Grey Goose Martini with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives: my usual is a dirty martini, so I decided to order as they had blue cheese stuffed olives. I started with grey goose, and it was a great martini. - Belvedere Martini with Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives: after my first, I switched to Belvedere as I wanted to determine if I liked Grey Goose better. The jury is still out as both make a great martini, though I forever love Double Cross Vodka that is found at Carthay Circle in Disney's California Adventure. - Crispy Mozzarella: to begin the meal, we started with this as I love cheese and what's not to love about a giant mozzarella stick?! The batter was seasoned well, and was complimented deliciously by the marinara served on the side. - Raviolo, spinach artichoke, crispy shallot butter sauce, cured yolk: our server suggested, though we both didn't particularly care for. We believe it was possibly the cured yolk that was off putting. It's a pass for next time, but we understand it was just not our flavor palate as it was executed well. - Rigatoni "alla Zozzona": A house speciality, so we had to order to try. My boyfriend chose this as his dish and I tried a few bites. Definitely a delicious dish, and he was very pleased with choosing this one. - Dry Aged New York Strip Steak: My choice and don't regret the $110 price tag one bit. This is the dish of ingredients sourced from the top kitchen if this was Next Level Chef. The demi-glace was decadent and rich. It paired beautifully with the steak, and loved the potato purée. Always see purées on Next Level Chef, and other cooking shows, so it was great to see one executed to this caliber. It truly complimented the dish and paired nicely with the roasted carrots and snap peas. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dish if you dine here. - Tiramisu: To end on a sweet note, we were intrigued by table side tiramisu as we've had at a different restaurant where they assembled it entirely at your table. This is just scooped from a tray, so the experience was a little disappointing. The flavor of the tiramisu was very coffee forward, so it was still a hit. - Complimentary Anniversary Gelato (Strawberry Shortcake): This came out with a sparkler and an adorned with a beautiful piece of chocolate that said "Happy Anniversary." Though both of us aren't fond of Strawberry Shortcake, we enjoyed the beauty of this dessert and appreciate the gesture. Shout out to Robert and the other staff who made our anniversary feel extra special. If this was Next Level Chef, they would earn the immunity pin! What a beautiful dining room, exceptional dining experience, and incredible service team. One of my top five dining experiences in the last decade - thank you! Our one year anniversary will be hard to top, so perhaps this will become our yearly spot.

The menu claims the pasta is house-made, but it tasted more like boxed pasta than anything freshly made. Worse, nearly every dish lacked flavor. Nothing stood out, and everything felt bland and forgettable. Across the board, the food felt uninspired and poorly executed. Given that Richard Blais' name is attached to this restaurant, I expected much more. Based on this experience, it's hard to believe he had much involvement in developing the menu.

Everything was very good, and the sauce on the pizza was especially excellent. Service was good -- not great, but good. The DJ actually added some nice ambience to the place and gave the restaurant a good vibe. Now here's my problem. This is a BIG restaurant. I'm not talking about some tiny little neighborhood place where they have to squeeze every table into every corner. Yet somehow, they sat the four of us right next to the server computer station, where the staff is constantly coming and going, punching in checks, picking things up, walking back and forth -- the whole time you're trying to eat dinner. And to make it worse, that table is close to the front door. This is Arizona. Every time that door opens, you get a blast of heat. I can only imagine in colder weather you'd get the opposite problem. I've been around restaurants a long time, and some tables just shouldn't be tables. That's one of them. I understand nobody wants to give up a four-top, but in a restaurant that size, come on. Move the table or get rid of it. The guest experience should be worth more than squeezing in four extra seats. The food absolutely deserves a return visit. Just do yourself a favor if they try to seat you by that computer station near the front door, ask for another table.

I wouldn't do any add ons to it (we did the nigiri of the month which was wagyu with some toppings, but would have preferred just the traditional line up). However, you absolutely don't NEED to get the flight, but make sure you get the yellowtail nigiri because wow - so delicious. The crudo was the best bite all night. So fresh and delicious. Worth every penny. Chicken bao buns were good, but not worth the price. Feel free to skip those! The drinks were delicious. Perfect martinis. The chocolate cake for dessert was good, but again, not really worth the price in my opinion. Overall: it's a fun place to try once, but I don't think I'll be back.
