I've come here three times since I moved here. It is good quality Chinese that locals enjoy. It's a three star because I love orange chicken and this taste like a mix of General chows chicken and a little sweet and sour chicken. I get no hints or color of orange. I've now eaten here twice and have been very pleased. The flavors are good, meat is decent quality, heat level is good if you ask them to spice it up, and food is ready in 15-20 minutes during dinner rush. Service is friendly and efficient. I wish the menu had descriptions of the food, so I'll try to post more photos over time, if I can. Not like fancy Szechuan you'll find in bigger cities, but this is solid Chinese takeout. read more

Everyone take notes - Me and my roommates (all from HI) came for dinner and loved the food and atmosphere. It was the best Chinese food I've had in Monmouth (almost reminded me of 'Golden Duck' back home on King St.) and I was so happy to finally eat honey walnut shrimp! Also, we were the third to come in right before 10 more tables of 3+ filled up the room and a couple people came in for take out... there was only one host, one waitress, and one cook. NOTHING was delayed and waters were consistently filled. The waitress was even nice enough to customize my order and put my leftovers in a box for me :) And for the people who complained about the "mushy food" and "horrible customer service" I think they need to keep an open mind about the Chinese culture. That's how their food really is, unlike the more-Americanized Pandas Express which I consider to require more oil and frying. Also, they speak a lot more different than our American culture and have different expressions on their faces... they have higher tones and smile differently. I got no bad vibes from this place and it's probably because of where I am from (a place where the food industry is a lot more competitive) that I actually understand these people. I'm from Louisiana. I know good food when I taste it. Their Salt N Pepper Shrimp are to die for. The perfect texture, seasoning and crunch. We love the food here and order for pickup about once a month. Our favorites are the happy family, honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef (mild) and rice. We occasionally mix it up and everything we've ordered has been good. read more

We had takeout last night. The cashew nut chicken and the egg roll were excellent. The barbecued pork had excellent flavor but it was a little dry. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. We live less than 10 mins away and by the time I got it home it was cold. We got the #4 Combo of Shrimp Sweet and Sour Pork and pork Fried Rice and Also Sweet and Sour pork with Pork Chow Mein. The Chow mein was horrible. The rice was cold. We just moved to the area about 2 weeks ago. Very disappointed and ended up throwing the food away. On top of all of that the menu online is not correct so before ordering ask about the price. $36 for 2 people and all went in garbage. I'll give 3 stars because the service was great. They were all really nice and engaged with our babies as if we were family. Unfortunately for me, the food looked fine and tasted okay, but seriously lacked flavor. Maybe I'm spoiled with AMAZING Chinese food in California, but I wasn't feeling any of the food. There wasn't anything wrong with food and no bug issues or anything nasty like that, it just wasn't tasty. Great service though, and really nice staff. read more

This place was horrible. I ordered shrimp lo mien got no shrimp. Vegetable lo mein with only cabbage. The food was disgusting Mushy. We couldn't eat it. I called and spoke with them and they just argued with me and offered me a refund. I told her I would return her all the food and she said no. I came in to get my refund and she started yelling at me holding my money and told me not to call her again. This place was awful. Horrible customer service. Being from hawaii we miss the different foods but this place has a WOR Wonton noodle soup that's almost just as good as Wonton Min from back home. Service is good and staff, which I think is the owners, are very friendly. They also have American food options for kids if they don't like Chinese food. read more

I have eaten here many times and was looking up the phone number to order take out and was surprised by the low ratings. So, I thought I'd give my perspective. We always order General Tso's Chicken which is awesome! We try to get something healthy and also get Brocolli Chicken which is good (we used to get Broccoli Beef which was good but not as good as chicken). We also order Chicken Chow Mein, which the kids like. My wife LOVES the hot and sour soup. The full bar is decent (although they don't carry my favorite tequila, then again should a Chinese food joint have good tequila?). It was super bleh. The sweet and sour chicken was so bland and dry, had barely any sauce. The almond chicken chow mein was so greasy and bland, I can't finish it the noodles because it's too greasy. I'll eat the food, because we paid for it and I'm not wasteful. But I won't be back due to the bland and greasy food. They will take any dish you like and take the spice out or add as much spice as you desire. I Love Kung pow chicken but it's usually too spicy; but at the Jade Terrace it just perfect.
