It was nice to see that there was a new recycling center in alameda. I thought they were all gone when rePlanet closed several years ago. Jado Recycling took over the exact same spot rePlanet use to be at. Their setup was the same except they required you to remove all caps from your bottles. I remember rePlanet didn't make you do that. I went in the afternoon and the line was long. There were 2 people working so everything moved along a little bit quicker than I expected. One person checked if you had the right containers that was eligible to get your money back and the other person weighed your containers and payed you on the spot. There wasn't a lot of talking but some loud Mexican music blasting from a speaker. Make sure you separate all your cans, plastics bottles, glass bottles and everything else. The trash bins that they had you put your containers in weren't the cleanest. Some people wore gloves but I made sure to have some hand sanitizer ready in my car when I was done. read more

This is a decent recycling facility and in a good area (shopping center parking lot). Little to no sketchy people hanging around, which I found when I went to some recycling places in Oakland. Staff is approachable and the process is straightforward. You first sort your bottles and cans into the garbage cans provided. Then, a staff member weighs your items and pays you in cash. The garbage cans provided are kind of grungy, so I always wear gloves. It's worth it for me to drive from Oakland to Alameda to recycling my cans and bottles. It's a win-win situation! Your discarded cans and bottles get recycled for other purposes and you get a little cash for your efforts. read more

The employee here was shockingly unprofessional. I asked a simple question about their opening time, and he responded by telling me to "shut up." I recorded the interaction and filed a police report, because no customer should ever be spoken to like that. It's disturbing to be treated this way while just trying to recycle. The fact that the owners allow someone this hostile to represent their business says a lot about their standards. read more

Awful Awful Awful....I know they shorted me AT LEAST $15.... I wrote down the totals that were on the scale but when he gave me the receipt they were way less than what the scale said ...When I questioned the amount he acted he barely spoke English and just kept saying "my buckets"... but the way discrepancy was way too big to account just for the bucket weight....Do Not Trust Them!!! read more

We recycled our cans and plastic bottles today. Came to $53.13. Instead of $53.13 we were give $44.13. Instead of 4 $20's, one $10 and $1s plus change, the guy gave us 4 $20's, and 4 $1 plus change. read more

A part pf me doesn't want to post this review because I want to keep this for myself... but I shouldn't because O want to honor this operation and the folks who work there. Clean, simple, straight forward, super friendly people who educate us on how to properly prepare our bottles to make the most money. I was initially going to the Berkeley recycling center but I missed their hours by three minutes. I didn't want to have a van full of bottles sitting overnight so I frantically found the closest place thats still open and stumbled on this place. What a gem! I will be coming here from now on! I was headed home from the gym and found myself passing a recycling center in the corner of the parking lot next to Ross. I had gotten so excited that I grabbed my loose bottles and cans in the car to find out what everyone was in line for. I must say my experience with Maria I must say was phenomenal. She was so professional and I felt comfortable because I was being helped by a fellow LGBTQ+ member. I am so grateful for JADO recycling hiring one of our own and especially for a clean environment. Recycling station manned by 2 people. The intake process was pretty slow. I waited for 45 min. I was told at the end when it was my turn to remove caps from all bottles. No garbage bin to put used plastic bags (from carrying recycling items). read more
