I called them a few months ago, inquiring as to when will they be opened for business. They gave me a recommendation to check out Cash for Cans for recycling. This morning we stopped by Cash for Cans. We arrived before 9:00 AM, we lucked out and found street parking across the street. They were already opened. People were already lined up with their bags of cans, plastic and glass bottles. The process was quick. It was like an assembly line. Employees were available to help us along the way. They emptied our aluminum cans into gray containers. I noticed the red containers were for plastic bottles. I have to admit the service here was better than Standard. My husband and I were in and out of there in about 10 minutes. There will be more returned visits to Cash for Cans for recycling. Thanks to Standard for their recommendation. Before coming here separate bottles/cans by the type of material in a bag. There is only street parking available. Upon arrival: 1) Place cans/bottles in the designated colored bins. Red bins are for glass. Black bins could be for aluminum or plastic. 2) Line up to get bins weighted. 3) An employee will record the weight and calculate the amount of money you will get. 4) You print your name and sign that record paper. 5) An employee gives you a paper stating how much money you will get. 6) Walk over to a window to redeem your money. I came on a Saturday around 9AM and was in and out within ~10 minutes. Working from home has accelerated my accumulation of cans and bottles, and while recycling through my apartment's waste management has historically been the norm, I thought I would try Cash For Cans out. I went on a Saturday around 1pm and there was minimal wait - I was in and out within 10-15 minutes. The workers were helpful in guiding this newbie, and they have a super efficient process. After you sort your recyclables into the trash cans (recommend pre-sorting as others mention), a worker inside will weigh your respective loads, calculate the payment, and hand you a slip of paper with the amount. You then collect your payment outside. I believe the rates are similar if not the same as the 2020 image someone posted. For reference, I received ~$18 for 3 trash bags of cans and 2 trash bags of plastic bottles (not crushed). Did I expect more? Maybe. Just look for any open area on the lot and separate your cans, plastic bottles and glass into separate bins - I just picked random colored bins this time ...and no one said that I did it wrong... so I guess it doesn't matter what color been I used...? Or they just took pity on me for giving them more work lol. Super crowded at all times because (small area) it's the size of a two car driveway. And unfortunately, if you come early... I have even seen a line waiting for them to open lol it was way too long so I left. I would recommend after early morning rush or around early afternoon. Overall, they have a pretty good system going - one of the men checks your bins for you. And then you stand to left side where a guy asks you to sign his clipboard and gives you the small slip of paper. Take the slip of paper to the far left and usually there's someone there waiting for you (even though you can't see them) to drop that slip of paper into the open slot. Cash will be given. FYI - no need to take off the caps of those pesky plastic bottles yay! Also I would highly recommend wearing some gloves because those bins are super grimy. They are NOT open on Sunday! I have made that mistake twice already ... but yes, they are open on Saturday but the hours are quite short. Hmm now that I think about it, their hours kind of remind me of bank hours lol. For example, don't arrive at 4pm thinking they close at 5pm...only to find out they actually closed earlier like 2pm Happy recycling! (This is not a metal/electronics kind of recycling center...just the good ol' cans, plastic, glass (beer, soda) etc In other words, if it doesn't say "CRV" somewhere on your recycle items... don't bother bringing it because they will just take it out. read more

Have been looking for a place that accepts cans since the Pandemic started. This place is easy to find, people were lining up but the staffs there assisted with sorting. I arrived 20 mins before closing with over 200lbs of cans and bottles. All the available staffed immediately pitched in to help get my items weighted. No one gripped about the 50 bags we were unloading. I am truly impressed with this place. There were at least 10 other customers who arrived while they were organizing my recyclables ( 3 of which came after 3pm closing hour) and was all allowed to recycle their items and not turned away being it was after there 245pm cut off. Arrived about 45 minutes to closing time, first let me say you have to have all your stuff separated they doubt play about that!!!! My husband and I have a truck full of recycling have to say it was slightly busy but its all hands on deck. The park is very limited and you might have to double park. This place is a fairly decent recycle center if you are already in the area or are not mobile, but they do tend to pay less for recyclables than somewhere like Standard Iron & Metals. Also, this area has so many homeless people littered about; sleeping, drinking, and smoking crack that it is downright sad to even have to come around here. I've seen a few muggings in this area as it gets closer to dark, so always be aware of your surroundings. read more
