    Assorted Sashimi Dinner

Not a fan of this place. We ordered sashimi to go for $30 and the fish was bad. Salmon was gross and had already went bad which you could tell by the color top right? The beef tataki was over cooked. Otherwise the cooked special rolls were decent.

Decided to try a new place out. Kind of a hole in the wall, but hey! , some hole in the walls and the best!! And they have RAMEN! Friendly greeting. Price is decent. Salad had way too much masago Fish is pretty fresh

The outside of the place made me think twice before ordering but I decided to go against my better judgement. The inside looks like a bar room off Bourbon street. I ordered 3 sushi rolls, 2 snow crab salad and yakisoba noodles. Plus side is the sushi rolls are huge!!! Down side is the seaweed that holds them together is weird. Meaning it doesn't hold the roll together, breaks apart very easy and it's yellow and taste funny. The mango on top of the Fency mama roll was horrible, tasted nothing like mango. The sushi is compared to sushi from a buffet. My daughter hated her snow crab salad. It's missing the sauce that usually goes on it that holds the crab meat together or something. The best thing about my order was the Yakisoba noodles. People was nice but I probably won't be back.

Holy sh*t, im sooo full. This was delicious. The rolls are huge and have fresh, thick cuts of fish. This place is top notch with incredible prices and service. Its definitely my place to go on the westbank from now on. For your love of sushi, give this place a try, you will thank me. 4 thumbs up from me and the beautiful wifey.

I wanted to try it since I saw it was coming soon and I'm very glad I did. The service was amazing and the food is delicious. The rolls do need to be rapped tighter but it was still great. I will definitely be coming back!

Someone finally came over to take our drink order. We realized that there was only one person working in the whole restaurant. We knew they did not serve liquor so we asked for iced tea,,,,NONE. We ordered water. We reviewed the laminated, colorful menu (which made the place feel like a chain restaurant.) We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak dumplings and the Crawfish dumplings. Both had obviously been frozen and then either microwaved or steamed. I took one bite of the cheesesteak dumpling and they had heated it up TOO much so it burned my lip and tongue. I waited about 5-7 minutes and took another bite. They were rubbery and, as hard as it is to believe, they both tasted the same. The steamed dumplings were better, but not by much. We will not be going back. There are other dumpling places to try.

The service was also good. I was greeted when I walked in and my food was ready in a decent amount of time. I tried so many flavors of dumplings. I liked the majority of them. There was maybe 2 flavors I tried that were just ok. I tasted a few flavors that were unlike anything else I've tried. The problem is I don't remember the names of the ones I really liked so that gives me an excuse to go back and try a bunch more lol

You order and within a few short minutes it is delivered to your table. We tried a little bit of everything and left happy and stuffed! Please come hungry because you will want to try everything. This is my favorite restaurant! The owner/executive chef, Chef Hao is a genius. We get the "Feed…read moreMe" option where 4-5 dishes are brought out that are chosen and prepared personally by Chef Hao. His dishes are to die for. Combinations you would never think would work together just fuse and melt in your mouth. He pairs things like raw salmon and strawberries with a sauce that mind blowing. All this combined in your mouth is like heaven on Earth! His Mama's Dumpling soup is so good especially on a cold or rainy night. I have tried almost his whole menu and can't complain about a thing. My only complaint is I wish they were open for lunch. If I worked there, my whole check would go to my bill and I'd still probably owe him money! The staff is really good. They are great for offering recommendations from food to cocktails to bourbons (that he collects). And if they aren't sure, they will ask Chef Hao for his advise. They fully explain everything that comes out and is put on the table, even the rice they explain is to sop up any extra sauce. Every day he is open, he is out picking the freshest fish, veggies, and fruits so dishes taste fresh and can be changed up if one thing isn't available but something else is. The place itself is small but very cozy. I would definitely recommend reservations through Open Table. We went one night during all the very cold weather. I was worried I'd be cold since it's in a remodeled NOLA shotgun house (and those building at known for being drafty), but Chef had the place insulated very well. My husband and I go there for our wedding anniversary, birthdays, or just to go when the craving hits. It's a great place to bring a date.

Romantic ambiance with a beautiful presentation of our entree. Definitely a great date night spot!read more

This particular Monday night we opted to eat a 5:30P dinner in a relatively quiet, open restaurant with Kaitlyn C. as our server. Sake and water for husband and soda for myself all delivered quickly. Also ordered apps at same time explaining husband was famished. Pork gyoza showed up in less than 5 min, and our spring rolls with yummy chili sauce arrived before the gyoza was gone. Husband's Beef Yaki Udon arrived in a reasonable size bowl - no overfilling with too many noodles. I thought the beef was good quality and the cabbage was just the right amount and not too strong. The Crunchy Dynamite Roll w/soy paper and Tsurai Roll (suggested by Kaitlyn when I was overwhelmed with choices) w/sriracha on the side were the last to make it to the table but worth the wait. I'm so glad we asked for a recommendation because otherwise the Tsurai would have been overlooked - and it was the bomb! Not a cheap meal ($71.30 w/tax w/o tip) but eating out generally isn't. With that said, only had a small amount of Udon leftover which means we didn't pay for any wasted food. Plan on eating in again rather than doing take out. Thanks, Kaitlyn C.!
