Sakura is one of my favorite sushi spots on the Westbank! The sushi/sashimi is always fresh. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Their service is pretty quick too. I dine in a few times a month but order take out at least once a week! My favorite is the Sakura roll, O Toro (2 pcs per order), Chicken teriyaki bowl and the Kani + house salad is always a go-to! A little gem found on the westbank. The hostess was very nice and sat us immediately. Our waiter approached the table with water andwas able to recommend some amazing dishes. The food came out very fast, fresh, and tasty. The quality of the sushi was too notch as well. Its very hard to find on the westbank good quality sushi. The atmosphere was great. I highly recommend this place. If you want some great sushi, or some good hibachi. Feel like it's pretty affordable compared to other places in the area. This is a sushi restaurant that is very convenient for us geographically. We are lucky that the food is fresh and the service is fantastic. We started with the Yuzu Hama which is Yellowtail sashimi, Orange, Avocado, Garlic, Sea Salt, Pepper, Yuzu Tobiko, Yuzu Sauce, Basil Oil, and Thin Pickle Shallot. It was very tasty and i will definitely order it again as an appetizer. For entrees, i ordered a salmon skin roll and a spicy tuna roll. Both were very fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the Elmwood roll which was Shrimp tempura & spicy tuna topped w snow crab, tuna ,eel and avocado w Green Onions ,Sesame Seeds, and Red Tobiko, eel sauce, creamy sauce. I have a hard time leaving a restaurant 3 stars that has good reviews because maybe my experience was just a fluke. Either way, I just didn't enjoy my meal that much and enjoying food is my MO (main objective) especially when I am spending good money. The service was fine and the ambiance is authentic Japanese feel. I had the salmon sashimi and the Salmon Naruto which it's hard to go wrong, I mean sashimi is just two chunks of raw sushi grade salmon. Well I just didn't care for the salmon they had today which has really never happened to me before. Maybe it was a bad salmon who lived a long sad life and died of alcohol poisoning from drinking his sorrows away. I don't know, but it wasn't good. I ate it because I don't waste, BUT I won't give them another shot because I have experienced great sushi much close to my place. Cute and clean restaurant. I felt that the food was mediocre, the egg rolls were super greasy and had been fried too long. I was under the impression that the spicy salmon rolls would have spicy marinated salmon, and not just yum yum sauce on top, so I was a bit disappointed by that. For starters, we ordered the Tuna Tataki - a light, yet flavorful, app to start any Japanese meal. This dish uses a blow torch to gently sear all four sides of the tuna and is often paired with a citrus ponzu sauce. It was one of those days where cooking just wasn't happening, but I wanted something a little lighter for dinner. My usual sushi spot was closed, so I was off to find something just as delicious. In comes Sakura. My friend and I agreed that we didn't want to go far for dinner and that we were down to try a new place--we ended up choosing Sakura and we weren't at all disappointed. It's tucked away in a shopping center anchored by a Winn-Dixie. If you weren't specifically looking for it, you might miss it. It's a cute, quaint restaurant with just enough room inside. It's super clean and has a few spots that could be suitable for more intimate dining. The decor looks very similar to other small sushi bars.There were a handful of tables filled when we walked in, but not at all packed or super busy. We were instructed to find a seat of our choice and our server would be with us momentarily. We opted for a table, but there was also a rather spacious bar area for folks to sit. The menu was standard--all of the usual subjects that you'd find at a sushi and hibachi restaurant. We got a couple apps--the squid salad, spring rolls, and crispy chicken. They were all quite satisfying, but the squid salad was on point! I hadn't had squid salad in years, and this made me remember why it was one of my favorite things to order. The squid was incredibly fresh, not too chewy, and the light ginger sauce was perfect. I would have liked more cucumber for the crunch, but it was still great as is. I got the spicy tuna and Rock n Roll as my entree and was rather pleased. Both rolls tasted fresh and were on par flavor wise with what I've come to expect. My friend got the chicken and shrimp hibachi plate and that was a really lovely option for those who are looking for healthier dinner options. The proteins were grilled just right, the veggies were slightly crispy, and the fried rice wasn't overwhelmingly salty. If anything, the dish could have used just a pinch more salt/seasoning, but that's just if I wanted to be picky. Our server was the MVP. She was handling all of the tables as well as the call-in to-go line by herself and didn't seem to miss a beat. I hope that she has more help when they're busier, but also suspect that she could handle it with ease. This is definitely a hidden gem. My friends and I come here often. The food and service are always good. I recommend it to everyone.

I went to Sakura this past Wednesday night and was scammed out of 20$ I was not very busy when we placed our orders, however it took over 20 minutes for our order to come out. We noticed several other guests who came after us received their orders before us. Even after a mediocre meal with an even longer wait time, I still tipped our waitress 25%+! I left cash, 80$ for a 63$ bill, and walked out after waiting too long for the waitress to take our card. As we were walking into the parking lot, our waitress chased us down, screaming at us. She said we were 20$ short, which was absolutely not the case. My girlfriend and I both counted the amount of cash we left on the bill, and it was enough for the bill and tip. I used to enjoy this restaurant but I am NEVER coming here again and I advise everyone else the same unless you want to be scammed out of your money. read more

Honestly, we started coming to this restaurant the week it opened and (out of about 10 times) not once has it disappointed me! The service and wait staff are excellent. The prices are fair and not overwhelming. The quality of the food is always top tier. Horrible experience. I ordered hibachi style fried rice with steak and chicken and my brother orders same but steak and shrimp. The so called fried rice was nothing but plain white mushy rice with soy sauce for color, steak was fatty and nothing that could be chewed. And all was cold. Told server and she says that's how it's cooked and when neither of us ate it ...still was charged. Never recommend. What a terrible experience. read more

Sushi was fresh but nothing to rave about. The steak & shrimp hibachi was horrible. The shrimp had tails and the were cooked so much the shells would not come off, the steak was mainly fat. My kids may have gotten 3 bites of meat, they both at separate times ran to the bathroom to spit the steak out. When the waitress asked if everything was good I told her the steak had more fat than meat. She said it's good steak it's ribeye. Well we eat ribeyes all the time and we have meat on the steak with some fat. The fried rice was bland and the clear soup was not clear. Not going back and that's sad because the sushi was fresh and decent. I don't suggest the hibachi at all. read more

The sushi was fresh and they had some unique appetizers. The service was quick and the scene was casual. This is a great addition (sorry if it was here before I'm new to this area) to the West Bank sushi line up. Very comparable to Diawa, less selection but a little higher quality!
