I swear one of these days, I will actually take a picture before I inhale the food. Anyway, I have ordered delivery (via Uber Eats) a few times from here over the past 5 years, and it is always delicious. I order the same thing (American Boy roll, no cream cheese) since I don't eat raw seafood, and it is always so good. It has tempura shrimp, and asparagus, (it does also have cream cheese, but I opt to leave that out) topped with spicy mayo. I know it's not the most adventurous order, but I like it and I'm paying for it, lol. It always tases fresh, the tempura shrimp are always crunchy, the asparagus is crispy. When properly provided -- the food is good. This ends the positive portion of the review. As an established business in the Metairie area, me and my co-workers order here often. On multiple occasions we've had to deal with a disrespectful, demeaning and rude delivery driver. Today was the last straw... This afternoon, upon receiving our order and to sign for it, the delivery driver threw a pen at my co-worker and barely opened his mouth to address her: no pardon, excuse me, no apology... It was unprofessional and left us absolutely stunned. Additionally, upon receiving my order, the toasted bits that should go into my egg drop soup weren't present. And then, upon calling to inform the restaurant to report the issue, no form of compensation or corrective response was received. We feel unwelcome ordering here and will no longer offer our business to them. As we will not return here, we advise individuals who value establishments with good rapport, etiquette, and the common niceties to avoid it like the plague. read more

I ventured off and tried a new roll today (spicy crab) and I must admit it was pretty good. And very spicy, much spicier than I thought it'd be. I've had the crunchy shrimp before but that was probably a year ago. It honestly wasn't that good, the rice was a little sticky/gooier than it usually is when I get the Temptation roll (which is my favorite). The wonton soup is just as good as always. **Hint you have to add soy sauce to the wonton soup otherwise it won't have much flavor. First time I tried it I wondered why it was so clear and "healthy" looking compared to the wonton soup I'm used to getting back home in MS. read more

Delivered to my place of employment via UberEats, I found the food to be tasty, timely (now that I know it came from Metairie on a Friday at the lunch hour) & price efficient. We had a feast that fed 5 & still has leftovers. Way cool. Everyone enjoyed the food & they could be seen going in for seconds. Portion sizes were plentiful. The Edamame alone couldve been my meal. The various rolls ordered were selected for different palates & seemingly, everyone was pleased. All the food was properly labeled, so as to not cause confusion, yay!!!! And condiments & utensils ie chopsticks accompanied the food, so there was no need for scrounging around for forks. I love sushi, as it's light, but filling. This is definitely not a good place to dine in, and as one reviewer mentioned, it can feel pretty awkward; however, the sushi is great. The first thing I noticed when I picked up the menu is that they have a lot of Chinese food in addition to Japanese food. This initially put me off and made me wonder if this was yet another Chinese restaurant masquerading as a sushi bar with low-grade sushi. I decided to release my misconceptions and order anyway. Menu problem number two: most of the sushi rolls have totally random names that do not coordinate with names at other sushi restaurants and it takes a while to figure out what to order. Bonus points: because the staff in no-nonsense and efficient yet aloof, the lady at the front desk did not care that it took me a full five minutes standing off to the side to make a selection. My super fresh, awesome rainbow roll was served to me lightning fast though in a to-go container. The sushi rice was super flavorful and springy but moist. There aren't really any waiters, so you pretty much just get served, eat, and leave. The staff are all working hard to churn out orders of sushi. While they are not particularly nurturing, they were definitely efficient and skillful. I'm happy with that scenario. read more

I had to say it was horrible, it was my first time ordering here and I thought the combination fried rice would look like in the picture of yelp and actually be a combination fried rice but it only brought old piece of chicken and beef. There was no shrimp on the rice. The tempura chicken tasted like paper. The batter of the chicken and vegetables weren't even cook properly. I got a stomachache afterwards. I actually found out about this place through my aunt who always gets the sushi platters for our family parties. They're always a big hit! So I decided to eat this for lunch one day. The place is definitely not fine dining. Barely any seating. I didn't get greeted by the workers walking in. You don't come here for good service or pretty decor. You come here for cheap good sushi! They have a lunch special thats pick 3 rolls for 10.99 and it comes with soup or house salad. I picked the miso soup. I got uptown roll, metairie roll, and salmon avocado roll. This was enough for both me and my SO sharing lunch. Super cheap! The quality isn't the best, but it's so cheap I don't even mind. read more

Sushi Express came up when I recently searched for sushi in my area. Last weekend I went. I get the feeling that not many people dine in, most get it to go or delivered. It is on Division, between Veterans and West Esplanade, across from an apartment complexes. This area is a lot of apartments on one side and businesses on the other side. Parking is limited in front, but half of the building is empty. Inside is a bright yellow color. They do not have fountain drinks, nor do they have free water. The rolls I got were fresh and delicious. I just got the feeling that they were uncomfortable with my desire to eat there. They do seem to have some great combos for lunch. There were only a small handful of tables inside, no seating outside. The staff were friendly, but I just can't get past the feeling I wasn't quite welcome. All of the employees were very busy all working. If I happen to be in the area, I will get my next order to go. But, I don't work in the area or live in the area, and they don't deliver as far as where I live or work. Oh well. read more

At the risk of never being able to sit inside the restaurant again I have the following review: we walked in and went straight to the front counter where we ordered. It looks like they do a lot of take away but they have around five tables inside. We ordered five sushi rolls, two bowls of soup. The miso soup was delicious and it is the largest bowl of soup I've ever received at a restaurant. All of the rolls were very well-made, not too much rice, artfully designed on the plate and the fish was all delicious. And they did all this in about five minutes. Doesn't look like much but it is incredible! The spicy tuna was by far my favorite and is one of the best spicy rolls that I've ever had! It was a full piece of tuna that was seasoned rather than a purée mush. The shaggy dog and California roll were really good as well! I'm not sure if I would actually eat there but my to-go order was fresh and relatively fast for a sushi place. 10/10 recommend! read more

So GOOD!!! This place is just so incredibly good! And the people who work there and run it are just so kind! I cannot say enough how much I love this place! I used to live across the street and got to know then very well. When I was sick and had not been in in a while, they noticed! When I finally felt well enough to call them for a delivery (yes, even though I was across the street, but I was still sick), they sent up extra soup and a get well soon note. They have modified stuff for me and it was never a problem, even coming up with suggestions for me to try since they noticed what I liked. Seriously, this place is amazing! read more

I actually looked at it on here for about a week before deciding to go on ahead and try em! Ordering online was a breeze, and my office is located close enough that my delivery was free. It was hot, crispy and fresh!! The rice on the other hand was just ok....I could have actually done without it. I didn't mind so much because the chicken was so darn good! And lemme tell you....they are not stingy with it either. It was a lot!! Too much to even eat in one setting. I brought the rest home and ate it for dinner. Actually, i've ordered from here at least 4 times since my first check in. I have not been disappointed at all....not even once! I mean the rice could definitely use some work but overall i rate them A+. I've also ordered the "tempura fried snow crab roll".....I'm a big fan of the "streetcar roll" at Hoshun...so i wanted to try something similar since the chicken was so good. And it was really good yall. It could have used a bit more batter, but overall the snow crab taste came through just as strong as the cream cheese and crawfish. This roll has a pretty strong flavor so i can never really eat the whole thing. The sauces on the side were super potent in flavor. (eel sauce & spicy mayo) just wish they'd have had champagne sauce also.....but not a big deal, i've order these rolls more than once, so it must be good huh?!?!? I had the temptation roll and it was quite big and large for the price! They also have a pick 3 on simple rolls here deal for 10.99 that is really cheap. I would say the quality of fish is okay, but you do get what you pay for. I would probably come back for the pick 3, but not any of the special rolls since they are quite basic too despite the amount you get. read more

This has been my hidden gem during the COVID-19 pandemic. I found them through UberEats but decided to forgo the delivery fee and just call in my order. They're always super fast (ready in 15-20) and the food is always hot and delicious. If you happen to get there before your food is ready, you can watch them cook it on a big hibachi style grill inside. I also noticed they had signs about how they clean public surfaces such as the door every 30 mins which I appreciate. All the employees had masks on, and they propped the door open for takeout orders. I'm a big fan of their yaki soba and fried rice. The proportion sizes are pretty generous. I love their Rock n Roll and the Temptation Roll is good if you like cream cheese. The sushi really hits the spot for me in terms of rolls, but I haven't tried any of their fish yet. The quality and taste is pretty consistently excellent from the handful of times I've ordered from them. My only complaint would be that they charge you 30 cents for a container of eel sauce but you could easily get around that by just ordering a roll that comes with eel sauce on it! read more
