Terrible customer service. I came in to JAF Bros for a second estimate on collision repair and was met with immediate attitude from the old blonde woman at the front desk. She was short, rude, and clearly irritated that I was even asking for another estimate. She actually told me verbatim that I was "wasting her time." When I calmly asked her to just provide the estimate, she continued to be dismissive and unprofessional. At that point, I let her know I no longer wanted to work with someone who treats potential customers this way. I was already disappointed in the service, and her attitude made it clear she simply didn't want to do her job. Completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this shop to anyone based on how I was treated. After my experience, Juana from the shop emailed me back with a "sorry but" response -- completely missing the point. Instead of addressing the real issue of atrocious customer service, she doubled down on explaining how insurance estimates work. That was never the problem. The issue is the consistently rude, dismissive attitude from the same employee that many reviews have called out for years. Treating customers like they're a burden is unacceptable. Unfortunately I pulled my car into my garage with my hatch still up, which broke out my back window, dented the window frame and tweaked the door. I chose Jafbros because they had an opening 2 weeks from when I called, as opposed to other places around down that were booked out months! They were very communicative with me throughout the entire process and worked directly with my insurance to get my claim settled. I was only responsible for paying my deductible. My car was done in a few days and looked like nothing ever happened! I really appreciated that they had their rates posted in the front lobby. This meant there were no questions about what I would be charged. I don't think repair shops are always this transparent. WORST AUTO SHOP EXPERIENCE!! EXTREMELY RUDE AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I went here about 3 weeks ago to get my car worked on. My Mercedes-Benz bumper was hit by a hit-and-run. They did an estimate and it was 5k. They said they would call me once they got with my insurance. Three days later I called because I forgot my hand gloves at their counter the dark hair receptionist answered. In less than 1 sec she responded, "no there is nothing here." In an annoyed tone. Can you ask coworkers or check the camera, please? Rudely again said, "no there's nothing here." I was okay thanks. If you do find them call me. One week later no callback . So, I called them and asked what is the status and the dark hair receptionist (I think her name is Anna) was pretty rude saying insurance won't pay for their hourly and haven't heard from them. I called the insurance and said he called and left a message for a callback. So, I called the auto shop & the dark hair receptionist answered again and I gave her his direct number to my insurance agent. I told her please callback and give me a status. One more week goes by nothing. I called again and she was so rude to me again saying my insurance won't pay their hourly. I was like can you explain what the difference I would have to pay? She said so annoyingly to me again my insurance won't pay so there is nothing we can do. I was like you are not giving me the option of paying the difference because you won't tell me the difference. I asked her multiple time to call me back but never received a call. I could have called my insurance to push them to get this rolling. They wasted my time. The customer service & communication was horrible. Since the insurance said no to their high-priced hourly rate they don't want to work on my car. I don't even know if this is true. My review is not from a recent occurrence but from years ago when I was involved in a rear end crash. I was a single, working mother who needed her car for work purposes every day. The bottom line was it took quite awhile to complete due to body and engine damage, and when I finally picked up the 'finished' product, it broke down a short distance from their shop. They took it back, took more money from my insurance company, and after more 'repairs', the car was ultimately totaled by the insurance company. Never went back. read more

I cannot believe my experience here - just another typical auto body stop trying to scam you! I took my Mercedes SUV here for a quote on paint scrapes (down to the metal) from rubbing against a pole after the dealer recommended this shop. The woman doing the quote wasn't the friendliest to begin with, but it is what it is. She inspected my front right bumper, said the scrapes didn't look too bad, took some pictures, and returned inside to work up a quote. She then quoted me $1,800 - just to do paint touch ups! I understand the whole bumper would have needed to be blended from the paint, but she elaborated on how many other parts would need to be removed from my car in order to do so? This quote and her description of the work wasn't sitting well with me, so I took my car down to Diamond Auto Body for a second opinion. The staff couldn't have been nicer there, and the man doing the quote for my car was shocked my Jafbros' outrageous quote for the work! He took one look at my car, said he'd be right back, brought out a hand buffer and buffed the scrapes right out - FOR FREE! NEVER take your car to Jafbros - they are a total scam. read more

My car was rear ended and almost everything had to be replaced. I called my dealership and they suggested JafBros. When I went to pick up the vehicle I noticed that the piece that hides the tow hitch on my sedan bumper was the only thing not painted on the rear end and obviously stood out. When I brought that to the owners attention he yelled at his staff and seemed angry with me for mentioning it. Came back a few hours later and it looked "okay" kinda half assed. When I got home I noticed they damaged two body panels when they removed my trunk originally. Called insurance and we set up another visit. They fixed it but again the owner acted like a real jerk the whole time, again...his shops issues were my fault not his. I left that day not 100% satisfied but good enough to use them again if needed. When my car was damaged at work I brought it to JafBros for the repeat business. Well this time the owner before looking at the car said it was $1100 to do it. A job that last visit cost $750. He says "I lost money last time with you". Insurance adjuster checks it out and calls me back to let me know that his quote was $400 less then what this shop wanted. He said the entire town charges one rate and this guy wants an extra $15-20 an hour for no reason. I wasted two days dropping off and picking up from Lake Tahoe. BEWARE--HORRIBLE OWNER. SELFISH AND GREEDY. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. WORK ISNT EVEN THAT GOOD. Would love to give ZERO stars for a terrible business. read more

I originally brought my Mercedes here because they are the only authorized Mercedes body shop in the Reno area. We needed body work completed that was billed through insurance after another driver ran into our door. It took two weeks for what they called a "minor repair." Within one day of picking up the car, we had a problem with the door lock on the repaired door (note - the lock was never a problem even after the damage...until they did the body work). The shop said to bring it back and they would fix the lock in 1-2 days. A week later, and after several claims that the car "would be done soon", I learned they would not release my car until the insurance company paid - they were using my car as collateral due to a dispute between Jafbros and the insurance company on the original repair. Unless I paid the disputed amount of $745, they would not give me my car back!! My car would not have been there if the lock had not failed. On the day I was actually allowed to pick it up, I noted an 18-inch crack in my windshield that had not been there previously. I notified the owner on the spot and he walked out with me to take a look. He denied any responsibility. He made up weather-related excuses as to why it happened that were completely ridiculous. Now, I am out the $745 to get my car "out of jail" from Jafbros and the cost of replacing my windshield. Jafbros, if you ever read this, please note that you are perpetuating the reputation of body shops that take advantage of their customers. To those considering using this shop, know that I will be traveling more than 50 miles to a different shop because I will NEVER let this shop touch my car again. Irresponsible, poor communication, poor estimates for required repair time and dishonesty are only the beginning of my dissatisfaction with this shop. First I must say this experience couldn't have gone much better. Our car took on some accidental self inflicted damage to the spoiler, I wasn't happy with how the damage looked on such a new vehicle although I wouldn't say it was worth turning in to insurance and pay for this mistake for many months through higher rates. I stopped by Jafbros to have it looked at and the owner thought that it could be repaired at first, but it seemed to have some broken clip attachments. I ordered replacement part, and after getting their quote for same piece. I Let them know I found it cheaper and they were totally cool with that. They just said 'drop the part off when you get it" . After receiving the replacement via mail order I left it with them to paint match our car. Once completed in a quick turnaround they let me know I could bring the car down for install. They did this process quickly and without issue. Our car is now back to showroom condition. They charged me the most reasonable and fair amount. I thanked them very much. My Mercedes C300 was damaged one night in Reno when it was parked. I drove it home, and the next morning I discovered it had extensive body damage. I obtained several estimates and selected Jafbros. The Jafbros team did an excellent job. The repair required the Reno Mercedes shop to re-calibrate the GPS system. Jafbros managed the transportation to and from the Mercedes shop with no additional fee. Jafbros returned my car in perfect condition for a reasonable price. If I could give them more stars I would! A ladder hit me on the freeway a few weeks ago (hell of a way to start the day) and they were so helpful and so amazing from start to finish! I had no idea how to go about this with my insurance or if I needed to get an estimate etc etc but they walked me through everything, and they had free coffee!!! Anyways, I dropped my car off Monday with some bumper and blinker damage and it was done today by noon. Not only was it such a quick turn around but they freaking washed the sh*t out of her! I had a bunch of scuffs and marks along the sides of my car (thank you college parking lots) and they buffed ALL OF THEM OUT. I took two of my cars to Jafbros, one being an expensive Porsche that went there with a small dent in the rear hatch. The door was replaced and was installed in a terrible fashion and the paint was orange peeled. The hatch is so mis-aligned that the the top of the hatch was hitting the top of the body when opening. Thinking it was just an issue with alignment, I took it to the dealer and they said I needed to take it back to the body shop and have it replaced again because either they used bent hinges or an aftermarket door instead of the OEM hatch which should have been used. I won't take it back to Jafbros for the repair, in fact, I'm going to have another shop do a forensic reporting of what the cause is. The other vehicle that went to Jafbros was my pickup truck which was nearly totaled by a family member. The body and paint was done to acceptable standards, but the mechanical issues that should have been addressed in the total repair of the truck were a complete fail. The radiator, AC condenser, and oil coolers were replaced, but none of the hoses replaced with them. The truck had a cold air intake and I received the truck with a filter flapping in the breeze and the intake wasn't replaced. The steering column was replaced and now the key won't work properly and has to be redone. There are several other small things that also have to be addressed. Now, is this the way you'd want to receive your vehicle after a accident, where the car you got back is in worse shape than it was before the accident? What happened to shops that were conscientious to the customers and strived to give them a product that is in, at least as good a shape as the original and stop putting down and getting in a rush because "it's just and insurance job"? Unfortunately for them, I've been in automotive repair most of my life and also worked in body shops with old school body men. This is unacceptable and lazy work from Jafbros!!! I'm having to fix all the above myself when I need to be fixing others cars. Please help to stop this attitude of these kinds of shops and get the quality work we deserve to have. -JH- read more

Although very good work is done at this Body Shop it is definitely hard to get past the unfriendly nature of the older blonde woman who works there... In no way shape or form is she welcoming and she comes across as a very unhappy individual, this in turn would be a deciding factor in it never referring anyone to this body shop... In my opinion with so many options with body shops in this area customer service is definitely a top priority when it comes to, so it is in my opinion that you can find other places with the same quality work and nicer people read more

I was rear ended in December and my Insurance company is partnered up with Jafbros and I was concerned at first because I had not worked with them, but the service blew me away. The communication and organization of everything is very well done and I am happy I gave them a chance. Unfortunately, about 3 weeks ago, my vehicle was hit yet again due to a vehicle flying off the road, the damage was minor, but Jafbros again got my vehicle looking new again. What really makes it nice is the custom detail they give vehicles when complete because they really do make the vehicle feel new again.
