I have such fond memories of riding this coaster! It delivers enough thrills without being overly intense. It has just enough turns and curves that it is fun, but no drops for those who find rollercoasters scary. It is a good low-medium ride for those who want a little something without having their hearts leave their body. It's the perfect balance for someone who enjoys a bit of adrenaline but doesn't want anything too extreme. I usually only hop on when the lines are short, since it's a quick and enjoyable ride that's even better when you don't have to wait long. Overall, it's a solid coaster that I always enjoy revisiting whenever I'm at the park. read more

Love this classic ride. Is a crowd favorite with my teenagers. I like it because it pretty tame. I like the line up inside where it's dark. The theme is Mayan and I'm here for it. The line was not long today. You can pretty much walk right on. The only thing that is a problem is when the line is long. Family friendly and Britney friendly coaster! I don't like roller coasters. Especially big scary ones that goes upside down lol Or if they are crazy high up! Nope! Pass. Jaguar is still scary for me, to be honest lol But it's an "easy" roller coaster for most people. Even some teenagers might find this one to be nothing. As I've said before, the crowd was almost shoulder to shoulder on sunday, 10/22/23, Knotts Spooky Farm and trick or treating event, but on monday, 10/23/23, it was much better. Located in Fiesta Village, this roller coaster ride is still family-friendly. It's thrilling enough without being super scary. (I can't handle too tall drops or multiple loops. I refuse to do Hang Time or X-cellerator.) It's a two minute ride and it's fun. It's got some speed to it. This is a popular ride, if the wait time is short, get on it! (The area is wet because it is cleaned daily, but on warm days, the water doesn't dry up. I'm glad that the lights are back on again. The last time we were here, it was so dark! Also, the last time we were here, there was a Science students field trip and lots of line cutting.) read more

Wow... it has been about one year since the last time I was here with my dear friend. This year we both came here with our daughters. The wait time was longer this time around. There were a whole bunch more people and that's okay... at least the line area was inside and it was somewhat dark and cool, but we still sweated or at least I did. Cool doesn't mean no sweat! LOL Jaguar! is still a fun ride just like last year. We all enjoyed it very much. This ride is not to be missed when you're at Knott's. It's probably one of the best rides in my book... not too extreme, not too fast, not too high, just the right amount of thrill and height at a moderate speed pace. You're allowed to scream, too, if you choose. I chose LOL. Yes, I'm still a grown up baby... that has not changed... and I don't think that will change anytime soon if ever. The first time I rode this ride was with my cousins and my much older cousin said, "Get your pillows and blankets ready!" That being said, it's a nice rollercoaster with no upside down turn or big drops. It's almost like a roller coaster that's a tour around the Fiesta Village portion of Knott's. It's a good starter roller coaster for kids or people who are afraid of roller coasters. It is fast, but there are portions that are not as fast as most roller coasters in the park. read more

One of my favorite coasters at Knotts. Not extreme at all so if you are looking for a starter coaster this is a good one. Long track that zooms through the trees and around the small watering hole Knott's has set up. It definitely rattles and is loud but lots o' fun. I avoid long lines so I only get it line here if wait times are low. read more

Came to ride this ride, and knew that this right has been around for a long time and that it wasn't too slow so we were able to relax on it. However the weight was really long we ended up waiting almost an hour and for contacts the line was all the way inside and almost coming out the door. Even with this way we decide to weigh which ended up being over an hour long and it was crowded all the way until the right itself. One thing to know is that they have a bunch of fast pass people so the occasionally would take a little longer because they would get the opportunity to get on the road first ahead of the general line. Overall the ride was OK longer than other roller coasters, however not as fast and the brakes for a bit awkward. read more

[Review #469] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (126/100) Jaguar! (4: High Thrill) is one my favorite rides in the park. I'm no longer a thrill seeker that I was in my youth so this roller coaster suits me just fine. The cat coaster lacks the vertical loops, free falls, & barrel rolls of the more extreme rides like Xcelerator, Ghost Rider, or Silver Bullet. H reached the 48" height requirement to ride when she was almost 6, but took awhile to work up to the roller coasters & this was 1 of the 1st ones she tried... since then, she never looked back. =) Situated in Fiesta Village, riders must enter a temple filled with Mayan-style drawings & paintings. The temple queue is quite windy with the entrance being the most themed... a giant Aztec idol sits with skulls all around, Aztec gatherings with prisoners, imprisoned Aztecs are now skeletons, with more skulls lining the walls on the way up. Listen to Mayan sound effects & tribal drums as you traipse the hallway until you reach the top of the elevation, & hear the jaguar's roar as it enters the helix located at the end of the coaster. I think it's a great intro to the thrill rides... not too tall (65'), low free fall (45'), ok speed (35 mph), & decent ride time (~2-mins.). It has a good amount of cars, seating 30 passengers/ride. The line is fairly short, especially in the morning. Recommended: Jaguar! is the cat's meow. read more

Reviews are spotty. Get it? I am writing this review, having ridden it for the first time exactly 25 years ago today. It took a while to collect my thoughts. Jaguar! (with an exclamation point, though 25 yrs later it might need a question mark) is a "junior roller coaster", which means it rolls its eyes whenever you interrupt her texting. The steel coaster was the park's sixth coaster, opening to the public in June 1995. It was designed by German engineer Werner Stenglel, who co-designed Magic Mountain's "Revolution" which had a "clothoid loop", now an industry standard that prevents sudden changes in lateral acceleration (less force on the body). He also worked on numerous record-breakers like Superman The Ride, the world's largest portable rollercoaster (no thanks), and Dollywood's Mystery Mine, for which he was paid in free books. He also pioneered "heartlining", having the track twist and rotate around the rider rather than the itself, which is why you won't have a headache from Jaguar! or any other of his designs. Located in the Fiesta Village section of Knott's Berry Farm, the queue is a temple with the last remaining Mayan-style art that Cheech Marin hasn't purchased. As you wind through a series of rooms and tunnels, you will see chained up skeletons, implying the prisoners have been there quite a while, make no bones about it. (My dad's helping me write this). There's a giant Aztec idol with skulls on the other side, a giant stone tablet, a Mayan idol head, a Jaguar head, all to the beats of tribal drums. The train activates the sound of a jaguar near its return. Jaguar!! First, pairs may sit down in the traditional pair of trains with 30 cars each that has a man on the front that the maintenance employees call Victor. I'm not kidding- they were memorializing a fellow worker who died in a car accident who had a resemblance. If you snuck a beer onto the ride, shame on you. Pour some out for the homey, of course, but shame on you. Jaguar!! As you begin your trek along 2602 feet of track,. There's an immediate 65 foot lift hill (click click click). Then 20 degrees down to the left! Right turn up! Then through the temple, there USED to be a fire effect! Rattle your POGS if you remember that) Unfortunately, Cedar Fair removed that when they took over! Corporations!! And then through the loop of Montezooma's Revenge, a perfect place to discover some inevitable unlucky day what those riders had for lunch. Then right to another lift hill. It bends 25 degrees left before a series of bunny hills (no bunny sounds are activated whatever those are- what? carrot chewing sounds?). The maximum speed is 35 mph and the ride is smooth, as is all steel coasters, making it an ideal coaster for all kids and grandpa. The "Jaguar!" at Knott's Berry Farm is a mild roller coaster, but it is extremely enjoyable for both young and old alike. It's great for folks that like a nice roller coaster, but also would like to enjoy one with their young kids. This ride is accessible to kids above 48 inches tall. It's also a great ride to take if you've just eaten, and don't want to get too aggressive too fast after pounding down a pizza, a churro and a Knott's boysenberry cotton candy. ;-) The Knott's website states that this ride lasts approximately two minutes, and reaches a maximum speed of approximately thirty miles per hour. Its a great way to move relatively fast and get some wind in your hair. It's noticeably more rough than most of the newer rides, since it was completed in 1995 (and does not have a more advanced suspension system), but it's not quite as rough as most older wooden-structured roller coasters. One of my favorite attributes about this ride is the relatively minimal wait time. Who wants to wait in a long line for a short ride?...certainly not me. The Jaguar typically holds up to 30 passengers, since each train has 15 cars that each hold two passengers per car. This ride also operates two trains simultaneously, which allows the ride operators to change all the passengers on one train that is held while the other train is in motion. All this engineering and planning facilitates minimal wait times for the guests seeking a fast thrill without a long wait. Jaguar is classified by Knott's as a "high thrill" ride, a rating of "4" on the Knott's Berry Farm scale. It's not quite as exciting or breathtaking as the Silver Bullet, which is rated as a 5 by Knott's, and reaches a maximum speed of approximately 55 miles per hour. Of course, this should not deter anyone from riding the Jaguar, because this ride is still extremely enjoyable. As far as a yelp rating, I've gotta give the Jaguar 4 stars, since this ride is quite enjoyable and often has a minimal line. The geriatric of roller coasters. I could of knitted while on this ride. I gather for some, this might be a great alternative and less "scary", so I get it's purpose. But I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie and seek a higher level of the thrill than this ride offers. It starts off slooooww and at first I thought it would accelerate....and....nope. Yawn. The seats are a bit small, for people over 5'8 and a bit over average weight you might want your own car, me and my buddy went into one car and we where camped not comfortable at all. The ride itself is great fun little ride. read more

DEAF LEOPARD Apparently this jungle cat is hard of hearing (hence the exclamation point in the ride's title?) This Zierer family coaster was actually more fun than I expected. But the thrills are gentle and definitely more aimed at kids & families, though that doesn't mean grown-ups can't enjoy it too! The first of two booster wheel lift hills brings a 30-passenger train to a modest height of 65ft. From there it's a series of mild drops and slightly banked turns over a 2,602ft course. There's a few very odd, long straightaways with no elevation changes that I found baffling. It would've been nice to see some hills in place of these totally awkward flat sections. One of the most notable features is the segment of track that threads the loop on Montezooma's Revenge. When the conditions are right and the timing is *perfect*, a train on MR will make a near-miss with a train on Jaguar!, with one right above the other. That's gotta be something to see. Overall attraction themeing was thorough and the waiting queue (indoors, thankfully) is a very immersive Mayan temple. Paintings, statues, skeleton props, there's a surprising amount of detail you'll encounter even before reaching the station platform. Color scheme is appropriate for the ride. I understand that there used to be a fire effect towards the top of the temple and a 'steam effect' just before the station brakes, but those have since been removed. Unfortunately the cars themselves were the smallest I've EVER been in. Good thing I had a two seat row to myself because my long ass legs barely fit inside the tiny space....and I'm only 6'0". The individual lap bars aren't exactly comfortable, either. Jaguar! is a unique ride that was tailored exclusively for Knotts Berry Farm. Guests will enjoy an excursion that clocks in at exactly 2 minutes long and offers some nice views of the surrounding rides. Definitely worth a stop on your trip to the park. Once you climb into the horrendous trains which provide no leg room what so ever, you head up the tire lifthill. During this time, you are thinking "I want to go on something else" because this ride sucks. After that, we head into the first drop, it's alright since we get a decent whip to it, but it doesn't really do much. After that, we crawl through a helix where we can wave to people below you. We then go through the Mayan temple before dropping and turning into the loop for Montezuma's Revenge. After we wish we were on Montezuma's Revenge, we get jolted into the 2nd lifthill. We then head into this flat drop where we get a good view of Silver Bullet before turning into another S-Bend. We then go through more straight track before heading into one last helix into the brake run. Honestly, I'm seriously wondering if this is even supposed to be a thrill ride. Because it isn't. It's not a family coaster for sure since it has a height requirement of 48 inches. I'm confused. Either way, this is a pretty crappy ride regardless. Even if it was intended for families, it's boring and it doesn't do anything. And sadly, it's not even close to the worst coaster in the park. I'd only ride this if there's no wait (there usually is) or if you REALLY want the credit, but this coaster really isn't that good. Jaguar is a very mild coaster it has quite a few cars so the line moves pretty quickly if there is one. You start out going up the lift hill then curve left down into a big circle that's right outside the pyramid the circle finishes with you rolling over the top of the pyramid until you pass through the middle of Montezoomas loop through the loop and right into the winding track through the trees and straight into the 2nd lift hill. At the top of the lift hill you zoom straight into a high banked circle that's close to the log ride and then you head right back to where the 2nd lift hill is for one more big circle before the ride ends. This coaster is perfect for kids because its pretty mild doesn't go upside down and doesn't go that fast. Even with all those factors this is still a great ride for adults too so don't miss out! Oh and if your tall seek the front car as it has a little bit of extra leg room that all the other cars don't have! read more

This pisses me off that this ride doesn't have the height requirement of 42 inch and only has the 48 inch like literally sierra sidewinder is much more intense than this ride and they have the have the 42 inch and 48 inch height requirement so both parent and child can go so why can't jaguar have the same thing????? Cool ride but not really rate a "4" IMO. Wait was long and I thought the ride should have been better considering we were in line for 45 minutes. After this, we rode the Silver Bullet that only had a 15 minute wait and our hearts were pounding out of our chest when we got off! Choose your rides wisely ;) read more
