My Air Conditioner was not cooling my house's hot interior. When I called AirMech, I was offered an appointment the next day (sooner than their competitors). The service technician Christian arrived on time and courteously introduced himself and his service procedure. He used a handheld meter to measure pressures and other important data about the unit's performance. He showed me the results on his meter: a loss of pressure, probably because of a coolant leak. He laid out my options and answered my questions. After getting my approval, he replaced the missing coolant and added a dye kit that would help find the leak. He also mentioned the dye kit included a sealant that might close up any small leaks. After adding the coolant and dye kit, the HVAC unit quickly brought interior temperatures down. Short-term problem solved. Christian explained that AirMech offers a maintenance plan that I should consider. It pays for regular inspections and provides a 15% discount on the work he had just completed. I opted in. The money I saved that day will more than pay for a whole year of the maintenance plan. A couple weeks later, I called AirMech again to have them inspect the lines to look for leaks. Christian was my man again. He arrived bright and early and performed a visual check in the attic. Then he hooked up his meter to the outdoor HVAC unit. He showed me the results and interpreted them for me: all readings are in the "ideal" range. It looks like the dye kit with sealer did its job. And because I had opted into the maintenance plan, there was no charge for the visit. Long-term problem solved. AirMech's staff operated with professionalism and integrity. Christian was outstanding! I contacted AirMech on Thursday evening after hearing a loud grinding noise coming from what I thought was my HVAC system. The following morning, they called to gather a few more details, confirmed my appointment, and even accommodated my request to come earlier if an opening became available. They ended up arriving about an hour before my original 4-6 PM appointment window, which was greatly appreciated. I chose this company to install new HVAC systems in my home approximately one year ago and have maintained a service agreement with them for several years. The issue that ultimately caused me to end the relationship was not a major equipment failure, nor was it about the cost of a repair. It was about trust. One of the return air grilles installed as part of the new HVAC installation cannot be closed and latched without applying significant force due to interference between the latch and the frame. I raised this issue during the last two scheduled maintenance visits following the installation, provided photographs, and explained my concerns regarding long-term operation and safety. The grille serves as an access point for routine filter replacement and is located in an upstairs hallway immediately adjacent to an open two-story foyer. Routine filter changes and grille operation therefore require the use of a ladder in close proximity to a significant vertical drop. Given that this maintenance task will be performed repeatedly over the 15-20 year life of the system, I believe the grille should operate smoothly and without excessive force. During both maintenance visits, I was told that the condition was acceptable. When I later provided photographs and requested an estimate to correct the issue, the company provided a quote of approximately $330. The dollar amount was never the issue. In fact, the relatively modest cost of the repair only reinforced my disappointment. What concerned me was that a readily observable and repeatable operational issue was consistently treated as an acceptable operating condition rather than as a workmanship concern worthy of further consideration. To me, the grille itself is not the real issue. It simply became the reason I began questioning the company's workmanship standards and willingness to stand behind its work. If there is disagreement over a readily observable and repeatable operational issue that can be experienced, photographed, and evaluated, it naturally raises questions about the quality of work that is not visible to the homeowner. Whether those concerns are ultimately justified or not, trust is an essential part of any long-term service relationship. My dissatisfaction is not with any single interaction but with the company's consistent position that this condition is acceptable and its unwillingness to take ownership of a concern that I believe reflects its workmanship standards. As a result, I have decided to cancel my maintenance agreement and move my business elsewhere. Installed a new HVAC system 2 years ago. They did a great professional job in one day. We went with a 5 ton heat pump system which has worked great. We liked the system so much that I had them install a new heat pump in our rental unit. Unfortunately we had a part that needed replacing 18 months later. Great experience with Airmech! The thermostat in my parents' house was very old. Tabs for the battery had broken off, so we were using aluminum foil for the past few years to keep the battery working (see photo). We needed to get the thermostat replaced so my mom could turn on the A/C without having to fiddle with trying to get it in the right mode. I wasn't sure who to get to replace it. Looked into Home Depot and Lowe's where they charged $99 each for labor to install (not including the new thermostat). Looked on Yelp and found Airmech that had great reviews and was pretty close by to my parents' place. Booking an appointment was seamless. Friendly and knowledgeable staff answered the phone and I was given text confirmations for my appointment immediately after. Antonio showed up a little earlier than our appointment time and quickly got to work. I had purchased 2 Honeywell thermostats off Amazon that I thought would be compatible with their current system (and didn't need that dreaded "C wire.") Antonio knew what he was doing and pretty soon my parents had two new thermostats in the house and the A/C blowing beautifully. We recently replaced our gas furnace with a heat pump system after our consultation with Alex. He fully explained the system, the work to be done and gave us the option to replace with a like gas system by comparing both features, benefits and costs. Our A/C stopped working this past summer. We found Airmech Heating and Air Conditioning on Yelp. They had good reviews and were local so we decided to give them a try. Our technician, Christian, came out the very next day. He showed up on time, respectfully wore booties in the home, was very friendly and super knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue, had spare parts with him and quickly fixed the problem. He had the A/C running like new that very same day. He even vacuumed the area before he left. Christian explained the whole process along the way, as well as the importance of maintaining HVAC systems. We had no clue regular maintenance was such a thing! We were so impressed with Christian, his quality work and the reasonable prices, that we signed up for a membership. Now that winter is approaching, Jessica reached out a few times reminding us to set up our heating maintenance appointment. Thankfully, we were able to book Christian again. Updated review. Mr. Ali, owner, called to inquire what can be done to correctify the the job. I explained to Mr. Ali that the technician overcharged me for installing a capacitor for $436. Explained to Mr. Ali the capacitor is anywhere from $20 to $40, and so the labor for a half hour job is $400, that's would be ridiculous. Afterward, the AC still would not goes below 76 degree. Mr. Ali was very nice and understanding. Mr. Ali offered a refund of 50%, which I accepted. I would like to thank Mr. Ali for his kindness and willingness to work out a solution to correct a mishap situation. I would,honestly, recommend this company. The A/C decided to give up the ghost on Friday night at around 9 p.m. on the tail end of a 104F degree day. Thankfully, Airmech had folks working over the weekend. Austin came out Saturday afternoon to run diagnostics and provide options, which included repair or installing a new system. Our system was over 20 years old and Austin diagnosed a compressor issue. Although we could have repaired it, we went with an installation of a newer system, as that made the most sense for the long run, considering the age of our unit, the costs to repair, and other factors. Upon learning we had medical issues that cause extreme heat intolerance, Alex dropped off a loaner portable A/C unit to help us not melt in the 100F plus forecast for this week until they could complete the installation. Alex set up the loaner unit and told us there was no additional cost for that loaner----which we very much appreciated. We did not expect that level of care and concern and we feel it really demonstrates how much Airmech goes above and beyond for their clients. Alex then went over our options for different brands/models/types of HVAC units and we picked the one we felt worked best for our situation. Both Alex and Austin were extremely professional. Both gentleman demonstrated patience with our questions, provided visual tools to help us understand the issue and our options, and went above and beyond with the loaner to ensure our comfort until they could complete the process. Austin even took a video of the compressor, showed it to us, and explained what was going on so we could see and hear the issue ourselves. And Jessica, the first point of contact for the appointment, also provided excellent customer service, with great communication, empathy, and professionalism. She sent texts keeping us informed of our technician's name, estimated time of arrival, etc. Airmech has a professional, dedicated, kind team who goes above and beyond. My air conditioning went out, so I called them for service. They sent a technician who went into the attic and said the air conditioner was frozen. He instructed me to set the air conditioner to 90 degrees to thaw it and to call back for a follow-up inspection. When I called back a week later, they said it would cost an additional $80. I was confused because the technician hadn't completed the first inspection. I explained this to the appointment scheduler, who said she needed to call me back. She later confirmed that they would waive the fee but that the next available appointment was two weeks out. I was shocked by their attempt to avoid completing the work and their dishonesty. Before I mentioned I already paid the $80 prior they had an appointment the next day at 10am. Now they are booked 2weeks out smh.
