Since Russ sold the business, it's very poor quality work. Really annoying we had to get another company to correct the install on a brand new system. They actually built the filter replacement access door using tape, which makes a mess opening it at each change, then it won't stay closed if you don't tape it down again. read more

They came out at the end of January to inspect the HVAC on a home we ended up buying. They scoped the ducting and recommended replacing the ducting due to rodent activity. After moving in we found other issues we needed to fix before replacing the ducting - so as not to damage it after they would have installed. In that time I removed the ducting myself to have clearer access under the home, at which point I saw the extent of rodent feces in the ducting and especially in the box mounted below the furnace, which sends air directly into the ducting. There was no mention to replace this box and after seeing how extensive the rodent feces were in the HVAC system, there is no way it is safe to continue using it in general. They should have recommended replacing the entire HVAC system after seeing how compromised it was, or looking into other safer option. Maybe we have different standards but it is a major health concern for us and our young children to be breathing air that is passing over rodent feces permanently. May 14, 2025, I had new ducting put in by two young workers MR. GAVIN AND MR. JANTEL. They showed up in time at 0800, and ready to work. They were very polite and asked to see what kind of ducting we had. Once they saw the areas, they immediately got to work. They finished the job in one day. They cleaned up all the mess and in and out of the home. After they completed the job they went over yearly maintenance program and will be signing up for the spring and fall maintenance. Long's was at my home yesterday for 4-5 hours (Sunday) working on the compressor. They got it running just fine. But it was the 5th time they had been out to fiddle with the durn brand new Compressor since installation on Monday. Here's the AMAZING part. I got a text this morning saying, we will be bringing you a brand new compressor today. Sorry for all the problems, we will fix this. WOW! THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And they arrived when they said they would, got the new compressor installed, and my home is cool! They are a company that stands by their work. Hard to find in today's world. Bad customer experience. Had a scheduled date for work and received a call to have the work done earlier as a time opened up. Cool! Agreed to have the work done earlier. The new scheduled date comes and I was told they would be at my house at 7am. Time goes by and no one showed up. About 2pm in the afternoon I called back to long to speak with Chris, the guy that I've been working with. He was surprised that no one showed up to my house and had to make calls. Turned out that their guys went to another job that was supposed to be quick that took all day. Sure, I get it life happens. Chris called back and informed me of the news and rescheduled my appointment back to the original date. Wait about a week and the day comes for my now 2nd appointment. I get a call and a voicemail at 7am in the morning from the owner josh that his guys are out sick and no one would be at my house for the work and would have to reschedule. I wait a couple of days expectong a return call to reschedule and. I thing. I call down to longs to speak to try and reschedule. After some back and forth of phone tag we were able to connect. I now had to wait another 3 weeks for the appointment. okay fine, I get it, people get sick and we are in a pandemic. Accepted the reschedule appointment. The day before my appointment I receive a call from josh to indicate that guys are coming and will be at my house at 7am to get started and was demanding that I have a check ready for them when the job is done. The work hasn't even started yet and all they were worried about is getting paid. How about get the job done and let's make sure my issue is fixed before demanding payment!? The next morning, I get up to be ready for people to be knocking at 7am yo start work. After waiting 5 minutes passed 7, with the history of this company. I decided to hop in the shower and start getting ready for work. I receive a call while I'm in the shower at 7:08 that they have finally showed up for work. I did not answer as I was in the shower. once I got out abs got dressed, approx 720... The person at my house has already left. I called them back and they told me they were told to head back to the shop and would call me back. They did not call so I called him back 20 minutes later and they told me they are not coming back and I needed to call the office. I did and left a msg with a lady. After a hour goes by, I get a call from josh saying that they are deciding to pass on my business because I was not available when they showed up at my home to work. With this history and your client showed up to the job late abs you choose to blame your customer??? This is not the service I expected from a company that says they are highly rated many years in a row. I agreed with josh that it was best to not work together as I do not trust their company! Got multiple quotes from Area Dealers. Long's was by far the most professionally prepared quote we received! The price included replacing the refrigeration line set. Over 23 years old. The other quotes only wanted to flush the line set! The Daikin Heat Pump is Made in America. Another plus! Companies that outsource their equipment will not get our business! Astonishingly, ridiculously overpriced. They wanted .50 cents per square foot to clean my ducts and another $300 for only cleaning the dryer vent. This would have come to $1300 for my house. I ended up getting all the work done for $300 total. There are many, many better companies in the area, don't be fooled by these ripoff artists. I believe some of these glowing 5 star reviews for this company are fakes. read more

We scheduled an appointment to get our hvac spring maintenance done. Jason was our assigned tech and he did a great job explaining our system and letting me know about the filter and what he was going to do to clean it. Afterwards, we went outside and explained everything I needed to know and what happens to the hvac when it reaches below 32 in the winter. Longs installed two heat pumps at my house, and the first failed within the warranty period. The tech told me, we don't replace compressors". After bringing it up with Mr long, he quoted me a huge price to fix the compressor, even tho it was under warranty. I found someone else who did it for a fraction of longs quote. Purchased a unit and install back in October 2109, install went great and no problems at the time. Fast forward to May 2023, the unit was not cooling the house. Called and had the technician test the unit, per the manufacturer's instructions he added a booster to the unit. As the unit is not even 4 years old concerned me. At the end of June again the unit stopped working, after a review they decided to order a compressor for the unit. The technician said he would contact me in the morning once he received the information on the wait time, I did not receive a call and decided to call the office, where I was informed it would be 7 to 10 business days. I called back a week or so later to see if any update only to be told in a negative tone they won't have an update until the 10th day. After they received the part and scheduled an appointment, the technician came out to install the part to only find out they sent the wrong part. I explained my frustration at this point considering the unit is not even 4 years old, the technician informed me he is not sure how long it would take to get the correct part, and that he would call me in the morning. I have received no call; I will not recommend this company to anyone as it seems once you make a purchase follow up and customer service is not a concern. read more

I paid the $69 for the "diagnostic" fee. The serviceman came out to my house and found our unit was 2lbs low on refrigerant. He told me it would be $320 to refill it. I paid the money to get it fixed as we had a brand new baby in the house and I didn't want to go without AC. I was never offered a "leak check" and assumed that if he suspected a leak that would be found in the diagnostic that I paid for. He even pointed out it could just be from them failing to charge it fully when it was installed. I assumed the problem was fixed. Fast foreword 2 weeks and I was having the same problem as before with the AC not keeping up and our newborn had developed a heat rash because of it. I got the same serviceman back out and THEN found a very big leak at the compressor. He said there is nothing he can do to fix it as it's warrantied from another company. He topped off the refrigerant to "get us through the next few days" (which were in the 100s) and instructed I called the other company. So now I'm out the $300 for the refrigerant that I just paid for THINKING that was fixing the problem and now have to call a different company to come out and ACTUALLY fix the problem that could have been diagnosed and fixed weeks ago. The other company came out and saw the problem right away without even having to take anything apart. Ordered the part and got it fixed in a week. They also only charged me $25 a lb for the refrigerant as opposed to the $160 Long's charged. I contacted Longs and spoke with who I believe was the owner (at least his signature was at the bottom of the email) and explained my frustration. I told him the service I received was like having a flat tire and going to the auto shop and paying money to find out what the problem is and they say "you have no air in your tire", rather than actually DIAGNOSING the real problem and finding what is causing it. THEN they respond with "the serviceman offered a leak check and you denied it" Which is a flat out lie. I explained to them I know it's my word against his but I can promise you, having a newborn in the house I don't care how much it would have cost I just wanted the actual problem fixed. I gladly would have paid whatever this "leak check" would cost to know I was getting it fixed the right way I feel the $300 I payed for refrigerant was wasted and they should have known that rather than just looking for a quick buck by recharging it and moving on to the next job. I gave the owner a chance to get back to me regarding this but as expected he stopped responding once I told him that his serviceman was incorrect and I was never offered a "leak check" at the time of service. Due to not only the incompetence of the serviceman overall in actually diagnosing the problem and the inability of management to right a customer who was not taken care of, I would recommend staying away from the company. I wanted to give them a chance to right the wrong before I wrote a poor review, but that never happened. I would gladly pay more with a different company to avoid the nonsense we had to deal with and our poor newborn who had heat rashes for a week due to us not being able to keep the house under 80 degrees. read more

I have had mixed experiences with a few other providers and by chance I came upon Long's, honestly just because they happened to be able to schedule me the soonest. Above and beyond doesn't begin to describe the service I received. First I need to give a shout out to Mike, my technician. This guy was a class act, kind, personable and knowledgeable, by the time he was done I wanted to go have a beer with him. He fixed up the mistakes of the last HVAC company I had lickety split (the reason for the call was a leak in piping I just had installed) and when I recognized his competency level and wanted him to check out the whole system, he offered to enroll me in the yearly maintenance program and essentially worked the repair I received into the cost of the program. Bam! I felt an instant sense of relief that I had found a truly competent company to trust my HVAC to and didn't end up spending anymore money than I had set aside for the repair. Longs did a project for us which we were very satisfied until the end. No manual was supplied so were shooting in the dark trying to figure the controllers out. I was also surprised when they came out to check the system and I was told that if the unit runs on high there's enough gas/ Freon without checking the unit with proper gauges. No mention of unit care or when I should have the unit serviced. Not really sure if we made the right choice in selecting venders. read more
