This place was amazing, was in town for weekend and want some good Chinese food but the food was instead great. The portions are huge ordered the sesame chicken it came with a soup which I choose the egg drop soup it was delicious tasted fresh, and also came with choice of rice I choose the fried rice which was very good, the crab Rangoon was great too, I couldn't even finish my dinner, over all I had the best experience here. Went in on May 1. First of all, the restaurant is very nice looking. They have several stained glass windows. Where else do you find that? The menu itself is very pleasing. About 8 dishes have pictures on the front. Each looks very appealing. I had eggplant in garlic sauce. This was by far the freshest eggplant I ever had in Corpus. I had the feeling that the cook had just gotten back from purchasing it. Also, they gave so much, two people could have easily eaten the delicious meal and been very happy. What I brought home made a very tasty breakfast this morning. For what it is worth, there is plenty of parking in the back. I know the owners have had other Chinese restaurants here in town. Wow! This place is awesome! I'm working here from out of town and found this restaurant not to be too far from my Hotel on Shoreline and it was fantastic! Huge portions so had my dinner for the following night and it tasted just as delicious as the first time. The staff was very friendly and learned they have only been open for about a month. This place is the best kept secret in CC. It know it will not remain that for much longer. And if work keeps me here for another night I'm definitely eating dinner again tomorrow night. I always visit Jajas when I come to Corpus for vacation. I never had any issues in the previous years, but today was it for me. I placed a to go order, it stated that it would be 15 to 35mins, fine.. I'm 25mins away, not an issue. I arrive, go inside to check and see if it was ready, it wasn't. I was told it would be another 25mins. I'm frustrated at this point, I sit and wait. I see maybe 8 other peoples order being called out. I see what appears to be my order being placed on the counter and no one calls it out. 5mins later, someone calls out my order. So this experience was terrible. It's not worth ordering if having to witness the service not being executed fairly. read more

We love this place! We've always had trouble finding a good Chinese place. Most places are really bland and overpriced. Jaja is consistently good and never overpriced with plenty of flavor. I've come here several times before, and every time has been a great experience. I'm the type that likes to try many different things on the menu if I frequent a place. Yesterday I decided to try their "Twin Pepper Chicken" as I love spicy food. It just wasn't for me, something in it just didn't sit right with my pallet, and I swore my tongue was numb, and lost it's sense of taste. I tried everything on the plate individually to see what it was but could not figure it out. I'm very introverted, so decided the food just wasn't for me. No need to complain as that's the risk I take when exploring a menu. As I was getting up a sweet sweet lady came up to me, with fortune cookies in hand. She noticed I was leaving with a full plate on the table, and no to go box. I explained I had been here several times before, loved every meal, but this one just wasn't for me. She asked why and I explained. She then informed me that the ingredient that was causing this numbness was the Szechuane peppercorn! She found a piece hidden behind some chicken, I took a nibble, and low and behold we found the culprit. The peppercorn, according to her is one of those things that you either love or you hate it lol. She was the sweetest thing, and asked me if I wanted anything else. I told her I was fine but that I would be back. She them informed me that she was not letting me leave hungry, to pick something else on the menu. I repeated I was fine (because I'm just too nice to have them make me another meal) and she insisted that I pick something or that she would bring me some Kung Pao Chicken, well I LOVE their Kung Pao Chicken. I obliged and sat back down in this nice little place and enjoyed my meal. Definitely will go here anytime I'm craving Chinese food in the CC area! read more

JaJa Café is an unsuspecting place that took me some time to walk into, but I'm sure glad I did give this place a try. The staff is always kind and greets you with a hello. This is one of my two favorite Chinese restaurants in Corpus. The food is consistent, great portion sizes, and good options. I highly recommend trying out the more traditional dishes. The owner was surprised I ordered the things I did at first, making sure I knew what I was getting but I assured her I knew as I've visited China and was interested in how they made the food here. To my delight I really enjoyed the food and have asked for recommendations from them on what to get next. Each time I've gone I've had something new. The Zha Jiang Mein is a great noodle dish of Beijing origin, they have Sichuan inspired dishes, and noodles with beef that are really good as well. Check this place out read more

I have had JaJa Cafe delivered a few times, but today was my first time dining in. Wow! I've been missing out! I ordered something new- combination curry style fried rice and I was absolutely blown away. I already knew they had among the best fried rice in town. It's light, fluffy, and has such a pleasant mellow taste (unlike other places where the fried rice is slathered in sesame oil). However, the added depth of curry spices truly enhanced the rice dish for me with a unique and mouthwatering flavor profile. I also took this time to try the rangoons, and they were very unique from other local places as well. They had a very thick, and crunchy exterior almost like the skin of really good fried chicken. I've never had it this way before, but I really enjoyed it. Another note I wanted to leave was how CLEAN the dining area was. Everything was sanitized and wiped down methodically.
