Beyond the online presence, my in-store experiences have also been disappointing. On more than one occasion, employees have failed to greet or acknowledge me, and I have stood at the counter waiting for assistance while staff members walked by without engaging. Although many staff members appear to be high school students, which is not inherently problematic, a basic level of attentiveness and customer service is expected and doesn't go unnoticed. I questioned it, with the owner, who happened to be at the store. I was later told that the manager said I only received credit for the money I spent and would not be receiving the money that I earned in their so called loyalty program back. After having spent $1,000 at their store over the years, I apparently received a $50 credit to use at checkout. I was so excited as I didn't even know it existed! When I brought one of the items back that I purchased, to get a store credit, so I could get something else from their store, the manager said that I was given a "gift" of $50 and lost that when I brought the item back. It would have been nice of them to tell me I could exchange it for the same amount that was spent, but they never said anything. I'm not sure how they figure that into their "loyalty" credit, but was saddened by the disloyalty I received after having shopped there for so many years. They apparently care more about keeping $50 than they do earning $1,000. I still can't wrap my head around it. However, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be giving them my business. It's a small town and word gets around, when customers aren't treated with respect. As their sister store, Sage, is run by the same family, I also won't be supporting their business anymore.
