This is a pretty small venue with delicious food. I can see why it is a local favorite! Our food came out hot and fresh. The special burrito they had for a limited time did take a while to come out but it has a lot of ingredients, so I can see why. The chicken Flautas were not overcooked. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The dipping sauce really added a wonderful touch. No margaritas, but they do have some bottled beers. The only improvements I would suggest is the consistency of the salsa. The flavor was great but it was pretty watery, and for someone who tends to accidentally make messes.. it wasn't ideal lol. Also... many customers came in to pick up orders instead of dine in, which is what I wished we would have done. It was only 11am and we walked into a clean, busy little restaurant. We were greeted by the young man who would be taking our order as he served food to another customer. He was so polite. We ordered carne asada nacho, a carne Asada chimichanga and a crunchy chicken taco. The carne asada was chopped and tender, and the chimichanga was very crisp, it was cooked perfectly. The only think I would have done is ordered the nachos with the red sauce on the side. It was a little much, but my husband loved it anyways. What made this place so great was the service provided. The gentleman at the counter was attentive, friendly, kind, and patient. He answered our questions about the menu and even came by after our meal arrived to see if we needed anything else. Fyi you order your meal at the counter then they bring it to you when it's ready so it is not considered a "server service restaurant" but they give you quality care similar to one! I ordered an alacarte taco and tostado with chicken. It came with sour cream and salsa on the side. The chicken was flavorful and both items were filling. My husband called in for an order. Ww ordered flautas. He asked that all toppings to set to the side. When he picked them up he checked them and sure enough they had put the toppings on. Prior to them being ready, he paid for the order. He said this isn't what I ordered. He asked that they remake them and put no toppings. The girl at the cashier checked with someone in the kitchen. They told her no, they wouldn't remake them. He explained that they didn't make them how he wanted no toppings especially the sauce on top. After they argued he decided they weren't worth any more arguments over the matter. He shoved the entire order back to her and walked out. He paid over $12 for them. You can't go wrong ordering for dine-in or take-out. Service has always been good. In the several dozen times my family and I have been here only one visit sticks out to me that we left there dissatisfied with service and that server is no longer there. When I received my order, I took a few bites and then realized there was absolutely no carne asada in my fries. On my a la carte Chili Rellano, I requested the same salsa they top the Huevos Rancheros with. And I paid the $1.50 more for EXTRA salsa. It's like heated pico. Love it. I don't know why it took us so long to return to this place. The interior is very simple, not fancy. You order at the register, and they bring your plates to your table. I had two very tasty shrimp tacos. They are filled with chopped tomato, lettuce, onion, and cilantro. Did I mention that I love cilantro? My SO had two crispy chicken tacos with rice and beans. Of course he added some Tapatio sauce at the table. He said they were very good. I took a few bites of the rice and beans. Pretty good. The bill was just over $20, an excellent price. There is bottled beer available in the cooler with the bottle opener on the wall next to the cooler. No margaritas and no bar. Hubby got the Wet Chicken Burrito. Food is very delicious! I always get the flautas. My husband likes to get the chimichangas. Previous times I've had a torta and a few tacos. They've all been full of flavor. The customer service is okay. They bring out the food to you in a timely manner. I feel like they're not good at greeting when someone enters. First impressions are always important. Jalapeños is off of Los Altos in the same parking lot as Mor furniture and Petsmart. When you come in you pay and then they serve you at your table once the food is ready. They do offer complimentary chips and salsa but you have to request it. My carne asada was cooked very well. This place used to have a salsa bar and had ok food. It's convenient to my neighborhood and that's the only reason we would go there. They are now stingy with their salsa and their menu prices are way too high for what you get. So when you dine in they bring you bottle of salsa to use as much as you'd like. When you get it to go they give you these little tiny cups of salsa that aren't even filled up all the way. They only give like 2 per order and look at you sideways when you ask for more. It's just watered down salsa and has a minimal cost. It's not fresh pico de gallo or anything like that. I've had it with this place. I got two things and it came to $24. read more
