I hesitated to write this review but I must. The food was okay- not the best, but the chicken filling my enchiladas was good. The "Suiza" sauce was definitely not Suiza sauce, rather a green sauce. The restaurant was definitely short staffed, and it showed as my hubby didn't get a water refill until we flagged the server down for the check. My biggest warning is the absolutely scorching hot plates in which the enchiladas were served. I have quite the burn. Yes, we were told to be careful because the plate was hot, but there is hot and there is scorching. I accidentally tapped the back part of my hand and I have a very visible burn. Please be careful. I was thankful that I was the one that got hurt and not my kids. read more

I dined at Jalapeños tonight. I quite enjoyed the service and the ambiance. I tried the Asada Grande Burrito (Wet). With sour cream, guacamole, cheese, sauce, onion, and salsa. It was excellent and was so large, I was able to take home half of it! I expect to return to this restaurant again in the future. read more

I visited this place again recently and it wasn't as good as my first visit. I was so disappointed! The chicken was undercooked and it was PINK! Like raw colored pink. I didn't notice until after a couple bites so once I saw, it ruined my appetite. It was just alright. The seemed less authentic the second time around. The beans were bland, the rice was dry. Not sure what happened, maybe it was an off day for the chef. I will try again though! I want to give them another chance. I'll be visiting next time I go to Grover Beach. read more

Whoa. I never thought the chilaquiles were ever even in contention to become a favorite of mine, but there you go. For a nickel shy of $11, my friend and I share this plate with each one of us grabbing a Negra Modelo beer. So we're usually out of here for maybe $20 plus tip. Stopped in for an early dinner with the fam... The chips and salsa started it out right, with an add side of guac just for fun. All of the food was amazing! Traditional fools that was flavorful and fast (we were in before the dinner rush). I went with the chili verde burrito and beef taco combo, which was fantastic. Wifie went the enchiladas suizas, and she said they were delicious. Kids liked their grub too... Ended with the fried ice cream for good measure. We will definitely be back again! read more

We were asked if we had reservations last night. Reservations, at a casual walk-in restaurant, that we've been going to for years, since when??? This place is never full! We've always been met with a luke warm greeting from the man (son of the owners) who works there as a waiter. He made it clear that he no longer wants our business. Went there again like we do every week. I had the chili relleno and cheese enchilada combo. My wife had the tostada supreme. Both plates were perfection. The service is always top notch. My only complaint is that they I always order my 805 with my dinner. They never told me how EPIC their Chiladas are. We had paid our bill and were getting up to walk out when I see them walk to another customer with one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. My wife sat back down and said "you need one." This is my go-to when I'm craving decent, well priced Mexican food. My man isn't a big fan (but he's from the Nard), but I go here pretty frequently by myself. Free chips & salsa, friendly staff and like I said, the food just hits the spot. I usually order their special #7 - A chicken Taco (crispy) and a cheese enchilada. This is the best Mexican restaurant in the greater Arroyo Grande/Pismo Beach area. The food is excellent, always served hot. The beer (cerveza) is served iced cold and with a frosted mug. The decor is very Mexican, with a picture of Pancho Villa on the wall. Mexican music is played in the background. I would say that the price is about average for Mexican food restaurants these days. We stopped by this place on the way out of town. Very clean and pleasant people. The tacos are super crunchy. Salsa is delicious. Our daughter devoured her crispy chicken taco meal in no time...my husband got the asada burrito and liked it. I got the crispy shedded beef tacos and found them to be good as well. This is my friends and my go to Mexican food place. We are obsessed with the chips and salsa. I could eat them all day! It's a family run restaurant. The daughter always remembers what we ordered and can make recommendations if need be. I almost always order the carnitas tacos. I am obsessed with them. The salsa they put on the tacos is a little spicier so I opt put of salsa on the tacos. My daughter is super picky but she loves their cheese enchiladas. Last time I changed it up and ordered asada enchiladas. Very good. The meat was extremely tasty. They have a la carte options if you prefer no rice or beans. However, when I picked up my food, the cost was significantly higher. I asked the hostess/waitress to repeat the order and prices. My mom has spoken highly of this place for awhile and I had yet to try. We decided to stop in when I got into town. I ordered the cheese enchilada rice and beans, she ordered the enchilada. Guacamole tostada and beans, and my son ordered the quesadilla. All of the food was hot and very good. I don't have any complaints. I originally felt it was pricey but realized it made sense considering the location of the establishment. Ordered a Wet chile beef burrito, and chicken salad through Doordash. Just for 2 items it was $50 which is pricey in my opinion. The food was so bad, they gave us black slices of avocado, and the chicken was cold on the salad, no seasoning. Secondly, my burrito was cold and bland, seemed like they just warmed it up in the microwave and served it. Definitely won't be ordering again. read more
