OMFNG!! What a hidden gem!! A friend of mine recommended we come here for a late dinner and some drinks!! Thank the food Gods he did!! First off when we came in the entire staff said Hi to us! WOW! Then we sat at the bar and the bartender told us about all the amazing tequila they have. He made us a few drink that were amazing!! My buddy got the coconut margarita and I got the old fashioned... which had a fricken cricket on the ice cube. At first I was like WTF but I ate the cricket and it was cool, spicy and fun! The ambiance was super chill and relax!! I will definitely be back for lunch someday since they have some great lunch deals.

One of the best lunches we've ever had! The best guacamole we've had outside of Mexico. Wonderful service. Very nice waitress and hostess. We can't wait to go back!

    Chili relleno with enchilada suiza

Yum! Thank you social media for alerting us to this deliciousness. The restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall along Grand, so you have to know where to look. So glad we did. It's been a long time since we've eaten Mexican food that had all of the flavors. The shrimp a la Diabla was spicy and rich. The chili relleno was stuffed with cheese and cooked to perfection. The salsa is fresh with a good balance of tomato, peppers and onions. Everyone is really friendly, and the restaurant is warm and cozy. Can't wait to go back to try the tamales.

Amazing chili relleno and crispy shredded beef taco

My monthly Gym Crew luncheon was here and we were all blown away! Karen was a beyond amazing, friendly, attentive server. The owner came out and greeted us and made sure we liked everything. Food and drinks, salsa and chips were fantastic!!! We will all be back! Super cute inside and very clean.

    Tamale and Margs!

Wow. I am speechless at just how amazing our lunch was. We've been in the area over 3 years and finally stopped in. Man, do I regret not having come in 3 years ago!! This is homemade, family owned, and made with LOVE. We had the tamales (Guatemalan), Chicken Mole, and the Camarones à la Diabla, along with the best margaritas! A total gem and staple in 5 Cities. The owners are so welcoming, salt of the earth. You will not regret coming in!!

FOOD: I wanted to try their tacos and see what types of tacos they make but couldn't find it in the menu? Except for beef tacos that's included in the combination dinner. I looked it up online and it was there but might have been they only serve it in specific hours kind of weird but ok lol. I ended up ordering chicken mole because I've been craving and want to find spots who serve mole in the area. The food came in HOT HOT which is a good sign. The rice was not bad, had flavor and was soft. Beans were beans lol. The sauce of the mole was good. The chicken was not so good. It had parts that were tough and might have been over cooked that it was almost chewy? The complimentary chips and salsa was pretty good just the chips were a little bit greasy but nothing major. SERVICE: The service was the winner here. The lady who was also the owner was super nice, welcoming and attentive. She kept coming back to check on me and even gave me a free piece of a cheesecake. Every worker had a smile and greeted me. No complaints here. AMBIANCE: I was the only customer there at the time so it was fairly quiet but maybe during dinner rush it can get loud. It had music and TV going on at the same time. They are located next to a building that does music/dance class so from time to time you can probably hear other music and stomps lol but it was not distracting or annoying whatsoever. The area was clean and the high ceilings were nice. The decorations were wonderful. Plenty enough of tables and booths to accommodate family, couples or group of friends. Also, plenty of parking in front of the building. Overall, I think I would like to give this place another try. This visit might not have been impressive but I love mole and if this is the only place to get one in the area then I'll be back, although that price point of $21 for 3 small pieces of chicken in mole sauce is definitely over priced. The food offerings on the menu are definitely on the higher priced tier which may steer a lot of people away. I don't blame you. The quality for what I have had so far was mid for that type of pricing. I have yet to try their drinks maybe in that aspect they'll be worth the price. Try it at your own risk is all I can say lol.

Great margaritas! Good chips and salsa, food was just a little bland, but good. First time here, I will come back and try other things.

The oysters were incredibly sweet and creamy, the octopus was perfectly tender without being chewy, and the Kurobuta pork chop was cooked to perfection, juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was another standout, with wonderfully crispy skin and tender, juicy meat. Even the Caesar salad was fresh and exactly what you'd expect from a classic Caesar. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience. Great food, excellent service, and unbeatable ocean views make this a place I'd definitely come back to.

I was on my way to Monterey for research and decided to book a last-minute reservation in Pismo…read moreBeach for dinner, and was surprised at how utterly disappointing our experience was when we dined at the Oyster Loft. Perhaps the onus was on me to recognize the shape of a tourist trap, but I was optimistic about this restaurant based on some reviews. The "crudo" plate is nothing of the sort beyond a few sliced pieces of fish on a bed of ice (if you know anything about serving *sashimi*, this is a no-no); to call something "crudo" which is, effectively, a sashimi platter feels... somewhat misleading. We also ordered a selection of oysters and were disappointed to see they were haphazardly shucked so much so that many of the oysters would not detach from their shells as we attempted to eat them. There's nothing so inelegant as trying to suck down an oyster and finding it won't budge (even after you've gently coaxed it with the appropriate utensil). The service also left something to be desired. We ordered a first round of cocktails and wine, and the server never checked on us again to see if we would like another round. I usually don't like to make such late reservations (we arrived for an 8:30pm reservation), so perhaps our server was busy with trying to finish their shift, but it felt like an egregous oversight to both 1) not be asked if we would like more drinks when our glasses were empty for 20 minutes, and 2) to not check in on our waters (we were handed a bottle and we ran out of water throughout the course of our meal, and no one seemed to care). Our dinner was also, unfortunately, interrupted by a large table behind us (about 10-15 people) who were incredibly inebriated and having a raucous good ol' time together (kudos for them, but if you want a more romanic or peaceful setting then I may suggest you dine elsewhere). It may behoove the manager to consider asking such guests to be considerate of others who are dining 3 feet from a group that was easily 6 martinis into their dining experience before their food came. Is the view gorgeous? Yes. Is it worth the price, and the seeming lack of service? Absolutely not. I will not be returning, but I suspect that is of little consequence when a restaurant such as this has the premium on prime dining real estate in this lil' beach town. May the luck be ever in your favor should you choose to dine here, and may you experience the bare modicum of service that such prices should include. Just my two cents!
