Food was great as always! The server dude made sure our chips and salsa were never empty. My typical order 2 cheese enchiladas w/ rice & beans were on point

Combo 1. Enchilada, Taco, Chile Relleno

This place was great! Needs better rating! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat on the patio on a nice day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great. Food, excellent. Partner ordered the three item plate. Chili relleno, chicken taco, cheese enchilada. He loved each item. I ordered the wet chicoe burrito and loved it. Chips and salsa were great. Def will come back!

Combo Number 7

Fun stop for lunch in Oceano. The menu had several options ranging from lunch combos to other combinations that were on the regular menu. In addition to all of the food options available, they had an extensive bar menu and lots of desserts to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The parking was easy and the seating was great for couples and families with a very relaxing ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall great experience for anyone looking for somewhere in Oceano to try.

Fish Tacos

Old Juan's Cantina is a solid spot. I got the fish tacos and a mango margarita, both of which were decent, but didn't blow me away. It's a reliable option if you're craving Mexican food in the area

Carnitas, Rice, bean and salsa

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant and both my husband and I usually get the Carnitas, with black beans, he gets flour and I get corn tortillas. Love the chips and salsa, I also pour the red over my carnitas. We shared a Cadillac Margarita. It was not very strong and I like it when they give you the Grand Marnier to pour in yourself. Not sure there was as even in it, $20. Service was great, Nicole was our server. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the bar at a small table as it was a little quieter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, we hadn't left leftovers so that's great for another meal.

Light about 2 feet above our heads.

Food was blah and tasteless, wife ordered chicken tortilla soup it had brown beef broth and some ground meat in it she sent it back [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm attaching a photo of the light above the table with dust and spider webs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't eat here. TW

Service was good, our host Genesis was very kind and same for our server Shelby! Food was good and at a good price. 10/10 will be back :)

My family east at this establishment many, many times. For the first time in a little disappointed. Ordered a large Albondigas soup. Flavor is great, but it only came with 3 meat balls. I'm wondering if to got a bowel of soup, would I have got 2 meat balls? Or a cup is soup, just 1 meat ball? Really seems like it should have more?

Good sized parking lot, we went around 4:00 in the afternoon, this place was packed! We were able to be seated right away , I love when the music sets the atmosphere. The servers are very friendly our drinks came quickly and stayed full even though the place was packed , The food was pretty good , in this area I bet it's the best . The freshness and taste were good , does anyone make homemade tortillas anymore? By the time we left there were 20 people waiting to get inside, if your in the area , it's pretty good food, recommend

My online order

Service was terrible. I ordered online for pick up. I arrived on time and the hostess said they were just wrapping up my order. I sat back down and ended up waiting for 20 minutes with no one telling me my food was ready. I finally went back to the counter while 2-3 servers walked past. The same hostess looked at me and said I'll be right with you. Finally a waiter asked if I needed help. I said yes I have been waiting for my online order for about 20 minutes. He turned around and said your order is right here on the table. I then turned to the hostess and asked why she didn't tell me my food was there since she was the one who told me they were finishing putting the order together. She said, oh I didn't see that the food was there. But she saw me sitting there for 20 minutes and didn't bother to ask or double check why I was still sitting there. To top it all off they forgot to put our drinks and I got home and realized we didn't have them. I know it was towards the end of the night but I got back home with semi warm food for the family because it had been sitting in a table. The service just seemed very inconsiderate which is why I felt compelled to leave the review. Food was about a 6/10 for Mexican. I was disappointed.

Old Juan's Cantina in Oceano...never been, so first time review and it was for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. To start...there was plenty of parking available, so no worries there. Entering the Cantina...we thought the ambience was really nice. Reminded us of another "themed" Mexican Restaurant in Las Vegas (Pancho's - Summerlin Cntr.) just not as "fancy". Nevertheless the atmosphere has "a likable/colorful flavor". The Buffet was already up and running when we arrived, so before we decided to actually partake we were able to "view the offerings ". It looked very reasonable and we decided "to pull the trigger" so to speak. Our Server was Shelby. She was really quite pleasant and stopped by the table several times during our meal. Before starting the buffet we received Chip and Salsa at the table (no charge...unlike some restaurants now a day's...that will ask you if you would like some and then list it as a charge on the ticket...so sneaky!) To start we ordered a Bloody Mary (4/5) to "share". Buffet wise...all the dishes we tried were reasonably good. Although nothing really "stood out" as being OUTSTANDING, we were happy to have tried a taste of every dish and we were definitely satisfied with the taste and seeming quality. I will admit that I was disappointed though, in the fact, that there were only pork and chicken dishes...rather than beef. Perhaps that is a cultural phenomenon...that Mexican restaurant cuisine preparations traditionally use more chicken and pork with some exceptions (fajitas, carne asada, etc.). Regardless my dear Yelp Review Readers, on this occasion...in this Yelper's opinion, Old Juan's Cantina in Oceano provided a "total dining brunch experience "that was more than acceptable, for a reasonable price"...truly earning this "definite recommend for a "fun" Sunday Mexican Buffet" 4 Star review.

I have eaten here before and it was always decent. Called ahead for a group of eight and they accommodated us towards the back. The table was all set up with chips and two types of salsas all the way around. Really happy with that. Our server Nicole was awesome. Easy going and she did a great job handling all of our needs. My son in law had Posole and loved it. He is damn hard to please, so I felt good about that!!!! My wife had the shrimp tacos and enjoyed them. I had the enchilada and tamale combo dinner, and it was good. Beans a little cold but good. My grandson had the two-cheese enchilada dinner and said it was good but not as good as his favorite Mexican restaurant. I had to laugh about that. Oh, he and his little sister loved the Churro Sundae! Loud environment so it's a great place to go if you have young ones with you.

Food: 3.75. Came by on a Saturday just after 1 pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a nice sized place with multiple dining areas, indoors and outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was moderately busy when we arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted upon entering and shown to a table. Chips and two types of salsa (red and green) were brought to our table. Chips were very crispy, not crunchy, which I prefer. Salsa was mild and fine. I chose one of their specialties (name and description of which were in a box in the menu). I ordered their carnitas with corn tortillas. We also ordered a liter of regular margaritas. Food and drinks were brought to our table timely and at the right temperature. Margaritas were very good and hit the spot after a long hike. Carnitas were very good but portion was on the small side which matched the price. Flour instead of corn tortillas were provided but staff brought me corn upon request. I prefer more of the crispy/crunchy bits. Staff was very friendly and efficient.

How much is the Brunch? I didn't find it on the website.

Nope!

Do you have virgin margaritas?

Hi Jessica! We absolutely do offer virgin margaritas in lots of flavors, as well as virgin options for many other fun cocktails. We also have some fun mocktails like Jalapeno Grapefruit, Strawberry Banana Coconut, and Cucumber & Mint Limeade. Come…

I waited 45 minutes and paid $6 dollars for this piece of crap (will attach a pic) i got the vegetarian taco, which you would think they could at least add some cheese to it for flavor but nope. Also, for a place called "The gril", you would think that the vegetables WOULD actually be grilled, but no, they were not. The rice was dry, and the beans had no flavor. I literally could not eat it and left half of it there. My server felt so bad she insisted on not taking a tip. So because of this crappy company, my server did not get a tip. I would have insisted, but I didn't have cash, and she would not allow me to add a tip to my card charge because she knew I waited 45 minutes for a fu*king vegetable taco ‍ Honestly, I think they screwed up and forgot, because there's no way it should have taken that long, and she knew that....she kind of flinched and grimaced, and she said "I'm sorry, I think they got backed up" and kind of rolled her eyes as if to say, I think they fu*ked up, she even said quietly to me "I think maybe they forgot". This was for the live music event on Friday, 6/19 at Claiborne & Churchill. The music was great, The servers/ wine stewards were amazing, but the food was horrible. At least my taco was. if I ever see La Parilla serving food again anywhere I am, I will not order anything! BLECH. Oh, also I asked for no onions, and they couldn't even get that right. In one of my pictures, you will see onions that I pulled aside on the plate. I could have pulled aside more, but I was wolfing down what I could after waiting 45 miinutes for a frigging shit*y vegetarian taco that was crap when I got finally got it. NOT worth the wait. No cheese, no sour cream, no guacamole....just dry rice, flavorless beans, and a few pieces of bell pepper, plus onions - which I asked to NOT HAVE. What a pathetic, underflavored, overpriced taco. Ironically, I drove by Hannah's tacos food truck earlier, and I should have just bought some tacos from them. They are, I think $3 per taco, and 10 times better than this crap was

While exploring the nearby businesses of the hotel we were staying at, we decided to stop for an early dinner. The place looked quiet, and even though there were very few patrons, we had a short wait before being seated. (This was the first red flag) The restaurant is structured nicely with an open facing entryway to the street, allowing the sun and breeze to flow. The problem, is that it was difficult to admire the interior of the restaurant without ignoring the noticeable spiderwebs and cobwebs in the ceiling and rafters. If I can see them, then I know they can see them. They do however, have very nice indoor and outdoor patio seating, with several tv's throughout. We were served complimentary chips and salsa shortly after we were seated. The chips were light and crispy. The salsa? Awful. Very thin and runny, with absolutely no flavor. We had to have waited a good ten minutes or so before our drink order was taken. Upon taking our drink order, I also placed an order for chips & guacamole. Our waitress was friendly, but curt. After tasting the salsa I chose to play it safe and went with the chile verde enchiladas, and my wife went with the combo plate with a chicken taco and enchilada. By the time we placed our second drink order it was blatantly obvious that our waitress had completely forgotten about our order of chips and guacamole, which was confirmed when our meal arrived. I will say that the margaritas were outstanding, maybe one of the best I've had. To my surprise, the chile verde enchiladas were actually really good. Nice texture, good flavor. The rice was bland and flavorless, and I'm convinced that the black beans were straight from a can. Lacking both flavor and/or seasoning (They weren't even hot) and equally plain. My wife's meal wasn't any better. The chicken was super dry served on a sad and raw tortilla. The beans...disgusting slop. If I had any doubts about whether MY beans were canned, I had absolutely no doubt about hers. These beans were so undoubtedly canned I'm surprised they didn't still have the impression of the tin can on them. No seasoning, no flavor, and lukewarm at best. Enough is enough. I couldn't wait to pay my tab and make a swift exit.

Husband said they were okay, but the fish kept falling out of the tacos because of all the other fillings & he didn't like their tortillas. The butter beef was..not great. Really greasy, to the point I didn't quite finish the second out of three tacos. Tried to soak up some of it with a napkins to no avail. & agree with hubby, tortillas not great.
