Cool Mexican breakfast/lunch joint. My friend goes here all the time so I decided to give it a try. They're open early at 6am and close in the early afternoon. We went through the drive-thru and ordered the Jalapeño style Breakfast burrito (the onions are fried) and it hit the spot! Came here for breakfast burritos seeing that they previously won awards but was pretty underwhelmed. Inside dining area was closed so only able to go through the drive thru. Service was quick and our burritos were hot, but not packed with that much flavor. Overall, we felt it was "fine". Gave this place a second try because I always try to give restaurants two chances... nope... as bland as the first time. Ordered the carnitas extra spicy with Jalepenos.... The only thing it had going for it was the Jalepenos (the one thing not changed/created). Bland eggs, bland cheese, bland sauce, bland carnitas. Best value in town! They just had a price increase and my breakfast burrito and coffee are still only $5.25. Pinch me! It feels like I've time traveled back to the 1970s every time I pull up for my fix! The big deal isn't just the price though, it's the quality. The burritos are hefty and made just right, the coffee tastes like a top shelf Columbian brew (always fresh), the napkins are big and soft, and the person at the window is always friendly. I usually stop by between 10-12 on weekdays and there's always a line at the drive through but it moves. read more

This is a drive thru experience. Plan for a wait as this place is popular and slow to fulfill orders. The person that I interacted with was welcoming and friendly. I ordered a breakfast burrito with potato, egg, cheese and medium green chile. The tortilla was too thick when tucked together so it was harder to discern the flavor of the fixings. What I had was fine but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. This is not a bad place to stop in if you have the time and need a breakfast burrito to fill you up when in the area but keep your expectations in check. read more

My boyfriend and I always get chorizo, hot, and are ready to die on the hill of chorizo supremacy. 1000% the move if you're going to go the traditional breakfast burrito route -- good combination of season & spicy! (It's not too hot though, I swear) My coworkers ordered various other breakfast meats (bacon, sausage), and since I don't know their spice tolerance, I got them all medium. This had a lot of controversial reception, with the resounding cry being of blandness/too mild. PERSONALLY, I would give it a 7/10...the boyf says 6/10 because it's not his fave brekkie burrito in the city ... It's also not mine, but I like the texture of this burrito a lot (not too soft), and also I think the cheese they put inside is like, better than normal somehow. (Co-workers ranked 3 & 4/10, which I think is more a reflection of the order decisions than the actual burrito) My brother, a prolific home chef and "foodie", did once tweet that the Steak Rellano Burrito was "life changing", and he's hard to impress...so major points for that, methinks. My reviews are entirely based on breakfast burritos. Surprisingly, they are only open brunch hours and no Sundays, and I thought they were closed the last several times that I've driven by. This info differs from some of the online info - their site from Yelp is down, but there are others if you search. They don't seem to have a complete menu posted, so I'll have to take a picture of the drive thru next time I'm there. I've had their burritos twice now - both times, I picked the "Whole Pig" one that is bigger (it is pretty big) than the basic burritos and comes with ham, bacon, and sausage. Also has eggs, cheese, potatoes, and jalapenos with a decent kick. All of this was mixed pretty well inside the burrito so I didn't get whole mouthfuls of just egg, for example. I've started tasting around for my favorite breakfast burrito in town - so far I think this is the best I've had. Santiagos are good, but smaller and while I do like their hot one, sometimes I'd prefer a burrito without the green chile inside. Update: I just had the fat Porky Pig (or something like that) with steak, bacon, and sausage, spicy/hot and smothered with green chile. This was fantastic... better than the Whole Pig I think. Upping to 5 stars (again, just based on breakfast burritos), and I'll be back... read more

So good! I've driven by here hundreds of times but today was the first time I stopped. I'm glad I did! The prices are around the same as fast food but the food tastes homemade. The man who took my order and payment was super super nice. They have a drive thru which I really liked, as on weekdays I typically just want to quickly grab food and get back to my work day. I had the chicken enchilada plate which comes with two enchiladas, beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. It was only $7 for all of that and they don't skimp on the meat! It was a fantastic and very filling lunch. I almost feel bad for not giving this place a second thought until now. I will definitely be back! read more

I drive past jalapenos every day on my way to work. If only they were open just a little earlier so I could actually try a breakfast burrito, but I work insanely early, so I don't really blame them :) Besides that, the $5.99 lunch specials are awesome! Even includes a drink. The green chili is very good too. Will definitely be going back to try more that jalapenos has to offer. read more

It's an old fast food place that is now a local burrito joint. It's really good! I went for the relleno burrito with all the toppings. It did not disappoint! The shredded beef was cooked in house, the relleno s were tasty and fresh inside the burrito and it was a solid amount of food for lunch. Any more food would have been too much. The wait staff was super friendly. It is still like an old school fast food joint inside, so the ambience is lacking, but if you want a solid grab and go or quick sit down burrito, this is your spot on S Broadway. El Tephuan (about a mile farther south on broadway) has a better burrito (the BOB Burrito is amazing), but Jalapeños is more convenient for a quick meal. read more

Awesome, budget friendly Mexican restaurant! I would have never known about this place if it wasn't for Groupon but low and behold it's located right off Broadway. The snob in me is going to come out and say this place looks completely sketchballs but the frugalista in me says, screw looks---go in and get a meal on the cheap! Like I said, it's a bit sketch looking but nothing to be afraid of and it kind of looks like it used to be a Wendy's back in the old days. I absolutely love that they have picture of the food on the menu since I'm a visual bird and after perusing their super cheap menu, found it would be difficult to hit the $20 mark between two of us. She told me she was going to order 2 tostadas and I shook my head and told her that she had to order more because really, it takes a village at Jalapenos to hit a $20 tab. We started out with chips and salsa and then both ordered the naked burrito platter complete with rice, beans and all the fixins'. They smother it in a sauce but we both got it on the side and thank god I did because I got the hot sauce and it was H-O-T!!!! I took one bite and my eyes started watering so beware-their hot sauce is not for the faint of heart. We didn't know if the food would be craptastic like Taco Bell or be authentic and fresh and thankfully it was the latter. For Mexican food, it was a pretty clean meals sans an abundance of fried items and cheese which was much welcomed. I ordered the carne asada with my naked burrito and it was perfectly seasoned and was a good portion (probably more than I should have eaten but oh well, when in Rome......errrr...Mexico City right?) After chips and salsa, two naked burrito platters and a soda we were just under the $20 mark, add that to great tasting food with a convenient drive through and a free breakfast burrito when you check in on Yelp (Holla!), I will be back for sure! read more

We went to this restaurant for the first time today and I will definitely be back!! The service is amazing and were every helpful and friendly. The prices are VERY affordable! A lot cheaper than what you'd expect to pay at a chain. We ordered tacos and they were so juicy, fresh, and full of flavor; the kind you would expect from a Taquería. You can get 4 tacos for $4.99 which are very filling. The food is all made fresh daily and you can definitely tastes the difference from other places. I am very picky when it comes to authentic Mexican food and this place exceeded my expectations. I will be back tomorrow morning to try the breakfast burritos for $2.49!! Be sure to get the Mexican coke in the bottle (vs the can) since it pairs perfectly with your meal. This place is located across the street from 7-11 and you definitely need to try this place. We have been wanting to try this place for awhile, and saw that they had a yelp deal for $10 for $20, so we went for it. and walked on over. (side note, I did call to confirm their hours since we had tried to go before and they were closed, and when I called and asked when they closed, the guy responded by saying "when are you coming", and "well we usually leave around 7:30" so be sure to call if you're thinking about heading over there too late into the evening) Their prices were good so it was a little hard to spend $20 with two people, but after getting the street tacos and enchiladas as the entrees, two sides of green chili (only $1) and chips and guac ($3.99) we were right at $20 and change. Walked home, and unfortunately, we were missing one of the sides of green chili and the guacamole completely, so I guess we did end up only getting a little bit of a deal. The food was fine, but I do have higher standards than most Coloradans being from Texas myself. My husband liked their salsa. I think we'd give them another try when we don't want to cook. Do know that they make everything fresh so we did have to wait a bit, and it's something to consider if you're expecting Taco Bell type speediness when going through the drive through. read more
