Chicken, enchiladas and chile Riano's with rice and beans. Nasty!
    Abigail S.

I came here with my son even after I seen the 3 1/2 star rating. I thought I want to be my own judge of the food. Worst mistake coming here. The food is so horrible. I had the chili relleno, chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The rice was ok, the enchiladas sauce had little to now flavor, along with the chicken. The chili rellano had a crunch to it. Never had a chili rellano with a crunch. Worst Mexican food that I ever had. I would have been better off going to Taco Bravo down the street, which is saying a lot. My first time here and my last. I ended up leaving most of the food.

Excellent service for a walk-up counter and solid Mexican food! Bonus points for the free chips and salsa bar with absolutely delicious salsas! We had 2 baskets! I got the enchilada and tostada combo with rice and beans. The enchilada was tasty with a nicely spiced sauce. The tostada was crisp and fresh, but the cheese was a bit low quality. Beans were perfect and yay for vegetarian refried beans! Two things that knocked the score down - Rice was not good, clumpy, and tasteless - Salad on the plate had a sweet dressing (French?) that really took away from the rest of the meal and because it was the same color, I couldn't differentiate enough from the enchilada sauce to remove it I'd definitely come back for a cheap burrito and sit on the patio on a sunny day!

2 stars for the homemade flour Tortillas but that's it. This place is not good and I should've known right away by the customer profile. The food was seriously lacking seasoning and flavor. I ordered the Chile Verde with rice and refried beans. The beans tasted like they were from a can and the chile verde had no flavor. Would not go back.

Yes! They were careful to find ouch which type of meat I wanted! The guacamole is really great! A feature I'm sure. My friend I went with told me he's gone here for decades. The fact it's been here for decades validates it's good enough to survive all obstacles! The super burrito is huge , two meals worth! Enjoy. ‍

Is this the same Jaliscos that was in the Woodhams strip mall on Stevens Creek Blvd? If so, I LOVED them! I moved away many years ago from *very* close to that intersection, but always remembered going there for some fantastic, decently-priced food.

Yes, it is the same “place.”

Are the taco shells, tortilla chips, and guacamole made in house?

Bland and lacking flavor, we asked for salt and lime to bring some additional flavor to this flat appetizer. Ahi Tuna Tostadas - 3 1/2 stars. I get this dish every time I visit Mexico City, but the interpretation here was a bit bland and nothing special. Taquitos de Papa - 4 1/2 stars. My favorite dish of the night. This was cooked well and rich in flavor. Side of Refried Beans - 3 stars. Lacked flavor, added copious amounts of salt to this in an effort to give it more flavor. Moljacete de Carne - 4 stars. A huge dish full of meat and chicken, all cooked quite well. This was on the pricey side ($79) but great for a hungry group. Mole Enchiladas - 4 stars. This had a great flavor profile and was my 2nd favorite dish of the night. Sorry to bring it up again, but the service is why I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars. We'd ask for things like salt, water, and limes and were given attitude. We asked for knives for a party of 3, our waitress brought us one. I asked for additional take-out containers, that seemed to bother her quite a bit. We tried asking another waitress, Cecilia, for help and she was amazing -- I wish we could have had Cecelia all night, but unfortunately we did not.

It's always a treat when I come. Breakfast here is special because they serve their chile verde in the AM. The meat is tender, fall-off-the-fork, semi-fatty in the best way -- the kind that keeps you eating even when you're full. It comes with three tortillas, and I love filling them up. And the coffee -- it's so good we asked for the recipe. It has that Mexican café de olla cinnamon flare, and they shared that they add orange peels too (the waitress even tipped us off that Costco carries a premix version, Café de Olla, if you want a taste at home -- but nothing beats theirs). THE CHIPS. Oh, the chips -- I dream about these chips. Made in house and fried to perfection, served with a green salsa that never fails to burn my tongue because it's so spicy, and yet I keep going back for more. The enchiladas are amazing too -- I usually get the beef -- with an house-made sauce where you can actually taste the tomatoes, onions, and spices. The beef salad is another good one, very refreshing. My friends have ordered the tabletop grill with meat and seafood, and it looks incredible -- that's next on my list. Service is extremely friendly. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and I love sitting outside on a warm day at the Pruneyard. Prices are on the higher end -- this is not your mom-and-pop taqueria, it's a more upscale Mexican restaurant -- but don't be deterred, because it is SO authentic and worth every penny. It was relatively empty, with only one other party seated at the time. Service was friendly and quick, and we got our food pretty quickly after ordering. It's got a quaint hole in the wall kind of vibe, but was still clean - though not very air conditioned. We missed it, but there was a salsa bar in the corner near the entrance. We were served complimentary salsa and chips - nice refreshing, tomatoey and lightly spicy salsa. We also got guacamole, which you could tell was freshly made, chunky and refreshing. Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. It came out to about $60 for the two of us. Overall, the mocajete was fun to try, but I think next time I'd try some tacos or a burrito if I were to come back.
