Asked for their corn/veggie mix, asada , pinto beans & a side of chips and salsa. Paid about $23 for it all before tip. -these look like black beans -hardly any corn -to go, no utensils included which is fine since I paid for chips and salsa -no chip style salsa, not sure if it's any different from the taco style? Was expecting a chunky salsa restaurant style -Hardly any meat Cashier guy was really nice though! Unfortunately I was across town by lunch time. Wait, I think I just found my favorite spot for breakfast burritos. I've had Cafe Rosalena and that has been my to go to but I might just rather come here instead.. hear me out. Ordered the egg, potato, chorizo burrito. The potatoes are diced into smaller pieces AND CRISPY!! the portion is very filling and everything was well balanced. They had three salsas from mild (green), medium (red), spicy (orange). ALL THREE were so good!!! Switching between all three was perfect. Orange (habanero) was pretty spicy but it was addicting while switching to green and red in between was a nice balance. Haven't heard of this place, it was a random find on Yelp while waiting for the car dealership to finish. This location is a bit of a distance but definitely will be coming back now. My favorite spot in San Jose for breakfast burritos!! Better than Cafe Rosalena in my opinion; It's less busy and they serve breakfast burritos all day/until 8pm! My go to is always the chorizo breakfast burrito, it's consistently made perfectly. They make awesome homemade flour tortillas and I love that the potatoes they put inside the breakfast burritos are either small cubes or hash browns--I hate when other places put big chunks of unseasoned-almost-raw potatoes in their burritos. All of their salsas are good, but my favorite is the original red salsa. Be warned that their orange salsa is a bit spicy! Be sure to grab one of their refreshing and delicious agua frescas to wash it down, the guava one is my favorite! Service is always fast and friendly, even when I place to go orders over the phone. Small amount of seating available inside and a couple patio seating outside. Chispiro's is located in a shopping plaza next to my favorite nail salon (Pedi Nail Lounge), as well as a coffee shop (Blvd) and a Luckys grocery store making it super convenient to go to in between errands and a pedicure. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot right in front for the shopping plaza as well. I decided to go for the chicken and carne asada. The meat portions were average, not too small, not overly generous either. They had a nice variety of toppings and salsas to choose from. I decided to add onions, cilantro, black beans, little rice, and their avocado green sauce & got my burrito to go. Overall the burrito was pretty good. The steak was seasoned well but their chicken was a tad bit dry. Their pricing is relatively fair as well. I also ordered a cheese quesadilla for my kids and they really enjoyed it. Fairly priced for the size of the quesadilla. I am planning to come back and try their breakfast burrito again to see if anything has changed. Overall 3.5/5 stars. It seems like a chipotle style set up where you can go down the line and choose your meat and fillings for your burrito. Taste very similar to Jalisco's in Campbell Chile verde burrito. Similar Chile verde and a fresh made tortilla is the samesy. Pinto beans and rice are good. My daughter had a quesadilla which was good, fresh tortilla took it up a notch. I would have liked more spice, but based upon the demographic in the area spicy probably not as preferred. Maybe some better salsas. My favorite part was the bunuelo chips. Reminded me of my grandma's when I was a kid. Excellent customer service all the way around. The servers were very helpful and accommodating. Despite a long line on a Saturday early afternoon, they were pretty efficient. I didn't have to wait too long. Rumor has it that their tortillas are homemade. I think they are made by a machine (not by hand), but still much better than the normal tortillas from other Taquerias, which are just produced elsewhere. I got the veggie burrito. It came with grilled veggie fajitas, black beans, rice, and supposedly cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. I didn't taste the latter ingredients so much, so those toppings may have been more minimal. Next time I'll ask them just to balance everything out, but it was a very good burrito and I definitely will be back. I also got the large guacamole and chips for $10. The guacamole was well made, but there are lots of chunks of tomatoes almost like a pico de gallo inside of it, which is not my thing but that's just a personal preference. Overall, a superior Taqueria and I will be back to try their tacos and a chicken burrito as well. I paid about 25 which included tax & $2 tip. I also like how they packaged it. Double wrapped my burrito and it was in its own little bag, which was sealed. So I've been going next door to the Chinese place for years, never thought to stop in until the other day. What a nice discovery. Chipotle style service but they make their own tortilla's fresh onsite. So far I've had a Chile Verde, a plain cheese quesadilla, and a chorizo and egg breakfast burrito. By far that breakfast burrito is the best bang for the buck. One thing I would recommend. Make shortcuts for ordering. For example: With the Chile Verde I wanted it "Super" style, meaning cheese and crema. It'll make ordering a little quicker too. read more

Their refried beans are the ideal consistency for me, with some half mashed beans in there to give it some texture. My friend got the asada burrito. The asada has a really great smoky flavor. His only lament was that the cheese was unmelted. The tortillas are handmade here and you can tell from their pliability and freshness. Delicious! The orange (habanero?) salsa is fantastic. I think it's the "spicy" option, but the spice is not bad for people who can handle a little bit. I'm no particular spice chaser, and it wasn't painful for me. It's a cute storefront with handmade tortillas and like a Chipotle, but way better We ordered the nachos to share with Al pastor and they were super tasty. Cheese was gooey and melted perfectly and the jalapeños were spicy, but flavorful. The al pastor was cooked perfectly and the other toppings make it great! I also ordered the carne asada burrito and the meat was perfection. Tender yet flavorful and to be able to add your own toppings is a big plus. I got lettuce, pico, jalapeños, rice, black beans, cilantro, and sour cream. The tortilla seemed handmade as well. This place can get busy as a line built out the door as we were finishing up. They forgot to give me salsa which was a little disappointing as they had 3 that would have gone amazing with the burrito. I do feel that their burritos cost more than some taquerias. The breakfast burrito is soft, warm, delicious and very filling. The price of $7.50 (as of March 2024) for the chorizo breakfast burrito is cheaper than many places and better quality! The tortilla chips are not complimentary but I highly recommend getting them. The chips come warm and are so crunchy. You have a choice of salsas, and I like the pico de gallo. Came here for the first time today for lunch. It's a small Mexican burrito shop that also sell tacos and tortas. The menu is displayed above their counter, and you immediately see it upon entering. It's set up similarly to Chipotle, where you order and get your burrito built in front of you and pay at the end. All the employees were so kind and helpful. I like that you can see all the ingredients and that you can build your own burrito to your liking. I ordered two carne asada burritos with the works. They also make their own tortillas fresh. Now that's awesome! They had just made fresh tortillas for my burritos which was so nice. I had a nice conversation with the manager and he gave me a cinnamon chip to try. It was amazing, so I bought some to take home. Both my husband and I loved our carne asada burritos. They do not skimp on quality or quantity here. There was a ton of meat in our burritos and it was delicious. There's nothing like a burrito with freshly made tortillas. I'm so happy I found this place, and it's close to where I live.
