Great mexican food. My go to in this area. Favorites are the fried jalapenos,fajitas and chimichonga

This was our first time to eat here. Our granddaughter had an archery tournament nearby and picked this place due to their high rating. The service was very good from the time we walked in until we were finished. We had a party of 8 and were seated immediately. Most of us drank water and the glasses were kept full. The waiter was always checking on us without "hovering" over the table. The prices were a little higher than I like ($14-20 a plate) but the portions were very generous and my wife and I could have split a meal. Since COVID these seem to have become a more "normal" price. My grandson, wife and I all ordered the Trece Salsa Burrito. My wife I had the beef and it was really good. Personally I preferred the Chili con Carne sauce. My wife preferred the Sour Cream sauce. My grandson preferred the queso sauce. My granddaughters had the Chimicanga and the enchiladas. They reported they both loved their choices. One said the rice was okay but not as good as she anticipated. She said the beans were too creamy. I agreed the beans were more "blended" than I like. The flavor was very good though. My mother-in-law had the Taco Salad. She was very pleased with the salad. The portion was normal size and was served in a deep fried tortilla shell. Over all we were very pleased with the restaurant and the food. We will probably coming back if we are in Kaufman again. read more

We were driving from Midlothian to Kaufman just passing the time. We got there at 1pm and were seated. The place was packed thinking this was a good place. We ordered our food. Everyone was getting their food, eating' and leaving. 3pm came and we asked where food was for the 3rd time. We just asked for it to go at this point. We were given the wrong order and short food. No tortillas, for the chicken fajitas I ordered, only to have beef instead. So, we drove 100 miles for food, we finally received with wrong incomplete orders. The beef was fatty and tough. Let me begin with the food... I will say for me being American Mexican this food did not taste authentic. I ordered Menudo and it was mainly caldo. Unfortunately the coffee was just as bland. As for the service I feel it could improve. We were told there were no tables at which point I asked if we could be seated upstairs and then I saw that there was indeed a table downstairs by the bar area... so idk what that was about. I will say that the ambiance was on point but that's about it. Will I return probably not but if your in the area and want a few drinks I would say give it a try. read more

My son recommended this place. I am so happy it's within 25 miles from home. Fernanda is my server and she's been very helpful. The sangria swirl margarita is delicious . It's hard to find a good house margarita these days. I had a Nicos Platter which is guacamole tostada, rice and beans and a chicken enchilada. It also came with a crispy taco. I haven't had rice and beans that tasted so good on FOREVER! The worst thing on the plate was the taco and it was good! Can't wait to come back. First time here. We walked in and were told there were no tables available and would need to wait 20 minutes. We had to ask if they had tables upstairs. Then they asked if we would like to sit upstairs. Well yeah who wants to wait 20 minutes anyway our waitress was very nice and attentive. Our food came out right away. I ordered small menudo not bad for 7.00 but it literally had about 7 small pieces of meat and the rest was just caldo. read more

Just picked up lunch. Very disappointing. Ordered chimichanga with shredded chicken. The outside of the chimichanga is a gooey dough (appears to not be cooked). Found pieces of bone in the shredded chicken. The cheese poured on the food was not very good either. If I wanted to throw my money away on food I couldn't eat, I would have gone to the gas station and picked up some crappy hot dogs. The reviews I read were good. What happened? Even if they offered to replace this awful lunch, I will never go back and will tell everyone I know to avoid this restaurant. Sorry, Jalisco's. Great ambiance, a little loud from the second level. Salsa heavy on onions, queso a little Velveta like but still good. Margaritas were delicious and smooth frozen. Rice was fluffy and delicious. Beans ok. Chicken was tender. My husband wasn't a fan but I was pleased. read more

The food is excellent and the choices are endless. We went on a Thursday at 6 and it was a mad house and only got worse. The noise was unbearable. I suggest to pick up food and eat in the car. At least you won't leave with a screaming headache. Either the wait staff was slow or they didn't have enough to provide good service. Our server brought the bill and we never saw her again. We waited for about 15 minutes and walked to the front to pay. There were 3 servers and the host standing behind the counter. If you decide to eat inside, take earplugs and learn sign language to communicate with your guests. read more

Love this place. The food is awesome and the service is always friendly. Even when they are packed. Verde sauce is very authentic to Jalisco style salsa. Iykyk great appetizers and desserts. The tvs are great when there is a game on and the drinks from the bar are great they have an upstairs dinning that looks like it would be beautiful for a small gathering. It wasn't the worst place I've been to. This was my first time here with my father and I gotta say, the dining room is beautiful and tables were cleaned! Food was not good. We had El Chavita. The meat was so tough. The plate was so greasy. The plate was un seasoned.

When we walked in, all of the tables were full except for those with dirty dishes still sitting on them. The hostess had to clean one off for us, and the same for the parties that walked in after us. We ordered our dinner and margaritas at the same time. The margaritas came out quickly, and were good. Unfortunately the food took close to 30 minutes, and it seemed like it had been sitting for a few minutes. My chimichanga and my husband's chile relleno were both just OK. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and it was terrible. The beans and the sauce were runny, the chicken felt very over cooked, but the rice was ok. My girlfriend ordered the nachos and they were terrible. All of the chips were soggy and cold when we got them, and the beef on them tasted disgusting. How do they stay in business when every time I order chicken fajitas they serve me beef. When I complain to manager she says the buttons are close together and her employees are too lazy to choose correctly. Beef is more expensive, you would think they would solve this problem. read more

This restaurant made us wait an hour and thirty minutes for food that wasn't even worth it at all. I had ordered the Flautas de Pollo and they gave me a Chicken fajita strip inside of my flautas. They are not equipt to handle large party's. My group was the first ones there at the door waiting before they even opened. Many tables received their food and all we got were drinks, chips and salsa. As the tables filled up they got their food as well. Almost two hours go by and we still didn't receive any food. When we got the waiters attention she blew our table off and continued walking. We waisted our lunch break. The food is amazing. However, the service sub-par. I'm not one to complain after 1 episode of poor service, so I keep giving it chances hoping things have improved. We are repeatedly overlooked when trying to get seated, it takes forever to take our order, and have sat as long as 1 hour waiting on food. It's not an issue of waitstaff as there are several standing around. Today we stood waiting on someone to acknowledge that we were there, even though 3 waitstaff members walked by us. We were finally seated and were seated at a table that had not been wiped off, and still had the drink rings on the table as well as chip residue. 15 minutes passed and I had to go ask for someone to take our drink order. We were brought salsa, which the waiter spilled on the table, and walked off saying he was sorry, but never coming back to wipe it off. Trust me, the food and drinks are out of this world. So my hubby and I arrived here about 7:45 ish. When I entered the building, it smelled like dirty mop water. My hubby said he didn't smell anything and I was be dramatic. So I said ok then. The waitress showed us to a table that had paper towels under it and trash. So that was my second turn off. We didn't know the place closed at 9pm. There's a point to the time but wait. So, we started with two chicken tacos on corn tortillas. The taco to my surprise was really good. The salsa you get with the chips was not good to me. We ordered chicken enchiladas with green sauce and the steak with a baked potato and salad. The green sauce on the enchiladas was good but eating it with the enchiladas it didn't work for me. The rice and beans was ok. My hubby said his steak was bland and needed a good sear. The ranch was watered down. So because we were disappointed with our entrees we decided to order some more tacos. Why when we asked for more tacos the waitress said the kitchen was closed. It was 8:40pm mind you they close at 9pm. The waitress never told us they closed the kitchen early even if there are still people dining or not. So that was a big turn off for me. So the two stars are for the two tacos we had and that's it. read more

For Kaufman the indoor decor is nice but the food is just ok. The service is great but we go fo good tasting food and it's not our favorite. I love beans and there beans are white in color I'm assuming great northern beans or garzarbo. I love but th of those types but not the way they are prepared I prefer pinto or black with Mexican food. I have tried a handful of things now and none are my favorite. read more

The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because the service is such a hit or miss. Sometimes it is fast and you are in and out. Sometimes it takes well over 30min to get your food, other times it comes out shortly after ordering. Don't get me wrong though the food is pretty delicious in compression to other Kaufman/Terrell Mexican restaurants. However I told myself I was not going to go back because of how long it took to get our food the last time I was there. I've gone on days where it's been very slow and it still took more than 30min to get our food. I have other friends and family who complain about the same thing. How the food is good but the wait time can be ridiculous. I'd recommend calling ahead and maybe just doing pick up. Especially if you are on lunch break or in a rush. Either way I would recommend this place if you have time and are not in a rush. read more

What a difference a day makes. After that train wreck at Los Hermanos yesterday in Terrell, this place did not disappoint. Green chicken enchiladas were somewhat dry but very good. Typical green chicken enchilada shortcoming: not enough tomatillo sauce. Guacamole was too busy. I tasted mostly onion, cilantro and peppers. I prefer guacamole that tastes like avocados. The food was good. But the people were terrible. Very judgmental to what society would call socially unexceptional. I am a woman with tattoos from head to toe and not the best of pasts. But I moved here to turn a new leaf in my life. This is the second restaurant I've been to that has made me feel unwelcome and I personally feel as if I should stay at home. I have social anxiety but going out to new places is a goal of mine and a way for me to work through it.
