We've been back a few times since the original review. Disappointing on each visit. I guess we hit it just right the first time! This time, the chicken fried chicken was hot but thin and tasteless, more of a cutlet than a chicken breast. Gravy was okay but not great. Smothered steak was better but the brown gravy was awful. The dinner roll was straight out of a bag - cold and a little stale. So sad about whatever has happened but this is no longer a little hidden gem. read more

My husband stopped in here for the first time for breakfast. Both of us finished everything on our plates! It was delicious! Quick service and not crowded at 11am in a Thursday morning. They serve breakfast all day long and were even running a breakfast special! I highly recommend! read more

Cute concept, and most of the food was good, but I have to only give 3 stars for a couple of reasons. (Get there in a moment) It's a cute little place right off the town square. Obviously very old. Shares a restroom with the store next to it in a middle hallway. The wait staff was about average. Not slow not speedy. The food was made to order and came out pretty quickly. With the special of the day it was reasonably priced. Now the bad stuff .. The coffee was not good. Ugh The syrup (pretty sure) was flavored corn syrup UGH! The butter wasn't butter at all! It's 48% vegetable oil! At the prices they charge, with their reputation of being a great breakfast place, it should have been real maple syrup and REAL butter!! BTW what is in that "butter" is really unhealthy for you. Overall I won't and can't recommend this place and won't eat here again. My family stopped in for late lunch after visiting the Texas Zoofari and our meal was amazing! Our server I didn't catch her name but she's got a little cute heart tattoo by her eye and she was great! Very attentive and my 2 year old nephew loved her! Honestly some of the grossest food I've ever witnessed. The waitress asked if the corn was ok because I wasn't eating it. I said I was saving it for my pig. How do you mess up corn?!? I forced myself to eat as much of the disgusting food as I could, but it was not good. read more

Would likely try another place if I were in the area again. Had the special OTD, chicken tetrazzini. It was a bland recipe that a half conscious 16 YO could have prepared. An order of chicken fried steak was mostly breading--but I realize some people may like it that way. Side salads were fresh and crispy. No complaints about staff. read more

My dad was stranded in Kaufman with car trouble and we came to help him. There weren't a lot of creative choices for breakfast on a Sunday morning and we are so glad that My Love's Diner stood out. This was an excellent breakfast. The service was kind and timely. The website and a sign inside asks you to be patient since things are made fresh and with love. Well, we didn't have to wait long. In fact, it was faster than a lot of places I've been. I would highly recommend the chicken fried steak and eggs. I should have asked after butter and jelly for the English muffin, but that's the only thing I was left wanting on and it wasn't any big thing. read more

Amazing food! The Sriracha jalapeño burger was off the chain, perfect amount of spice and flavor. Our waitress was very nice, funny, and very helpful. I also tried the chicken fried chicken and to no surprise they killed it! I definitely recommend this place the seating area/tables are very clean and kept up. Definitely feels like the county home cooking, will definitely be coming back. Our server Chelsea she was very nice and you can tell she lives her job. was in town for a weekend event and was looking for a place for dinner. yelp led me here to my love's diner and it did not disappoint! i had the fish plate ($11) and a friend had the smothered hamburger plate ($13) both came with a salad and 2 sides. everything was well prepared and tasty. my fish was very crispy and the salad was chilled and fresh. i had the squash & zucchini and green beans as sides and both were yummy. my friend was happy with the hamburger steaks and said the gravy was delicious. i thought the prices were very reasonable; you'd pay more for fast food and come away with much less. the service was excellent as well. i hope you locals appreciate this place! from the crowd that was present when we were there, it looks like they do! read more

I could smell this food from down the block. I followed my nose and I wasn't disappointed! Ordered the breakfast burrito, chicken fried chicken plate, mozzarella sticks, and a chicken quesadilla with a side of fries. Everything was delicious and tasted home made. The fries were the kind of fresh and salty goodness that keeps you eating. Chicken fried chicken was moist and fresh, cooked perfectly! My burrito was the same. A big burrito with simple and tasty ingredients that solved my craving for big burritos. It tasted as good as the smell from outside and as good as the picture on this review. We were able to sit down immediately. The friendly waitress came right over and helped us promptly. The waitresses chatted with the customers and gave you the vibe of the good ole diners were you had regulars and everyone knew everybody. We loved that aspect of this place. Stopped here for breakfast this morning. Classic, retro decor with friendly staff, I was seated right away. My standard test breakfast is chicken fried steak and eggs. It was perfect. Very good service and food. My son had a double cheeseburger with fries and I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and red potatoes. Both were cooked perfectly and delicious.
