I've had the chance to try this spot for breakfast, lunch, and now dinner. From my experience, breakfast really stands out--it's fresh, consistent, and served all day, which is such a plus. Lunch and dinner haven't been as enjoyable for me. For example, the dinner special I tried (meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn) didn't come out as I had hoped--the meatloaf was a little dry, the potatoes were on the cooler side, and the corn just didn't taste quite right. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, which was served hot and had good flavor, but the texture of the steak made me wonder if it might have been frozen beforehand. The sides--green beans, rolls, etc.--also seemed like they could use a little more seasoning and warmth to really shine. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the atmosphere and the staff. The place has such a warm, welcoming vibe, and the team is always kind and friendly, even if service can sometimes take a bit longer. We've been back a few times since the original review. Disappointing on each visit. I guess we hit it just right the first time! This time, the chicken fried chicken was hot but thin and tasteless, more of a cutlet than a chicken breast. Gravy was okay but not great. Smothered steak was better but the brown gravy was awful. The dinner roll was straight out of a bag - cold and a little stale. So sad about whatever has happened but this is no longer a little hidden gem. read more

My husband stopped in here for the first time for breakfast. Both of us finished everything on our plates! It was delicious! Quick service and not crowded at 11am in a Thursday morning. They serve breakfast all day long and were even running a breakfast special! I highly recommend! read more

Cute concept, and most of the food was good, but I have to only give 3 stars for a couple of reasons. (Get there in a moment) It's a cute little place right off the town square. Obviously very old. Shares a restroom with the store next to it in a middle hallway. The wait staff was about average. Not slow not speedy. The food was made to order and came out pretty quickly. With the special of the day it was reasonably priced. Now the bad stuff .. The coffee was not good. Ugh The syrup (pretty sure) was flavored corn syrup UGH! The butter wasn't butter at all! It's 48% vegetable oil! At the prices they charge, with their reputation of being a great breakfast place, it should have been real maple syrup and REAL butter!! My family stopped in for late lunch after visiting the Texas Zoofari and our meal was amazing! Our server I didn't catch her name but she's got a little cute heart tattoo by her eye and she was great! Very attentive and my 2 year old nephew loved her! Amazing food! The Sriracha jalapeño burger was off the chain, perfect amount of spice and flavor. Our waitress was very nice, funny, and very helpful. The fries were the kind of fresh and salty goodness that keeps you eating. Chicken fried chicken was moist and fresh, cooked perfectly! My burrito was the same. A big burrito with simple and tasty ingredients that solved my craving for big burritos. It tasted as good as the smell from outside and as good as the picture on this review.
